honestly, hearing "but there's still so much to live for" in that state of mind would def make an individual more depressed about their life. because when you're ready to quit life, when you've already decided - then Life for you IS Done - options to Go-on are dropped and you dont care to hear the pleas from people. in fact thats the worst way to handle a suicidal... telling them "no, dont do it", makes death more appealing. and even though they may know 'there's much to live for', they'll brush it off with - "Then YOU go live it. (not me)" type thinking
