"The world’s leading genocide scholars’ association has passed a resolution saying that the legal criteria have been met to establish Israel is committing genocide in Gaza, its president said on Monday.

Eighty-six percent of those who voted among the 500-member International Association of Genocide Scholars backed the resolution declaring: 'Israel’s policies and actions in Gaza meet the legal definition of genocide in Article II of the United Nations Convention for the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide (1948)'.

There was no immediate response from the Israeli foreign ministry. Israel has in the past strongly denied that its actions in Gaza amount to genocide and says they are justified as self defense. Glad to see someone tries to talk about this. Estimated to be over 600,000 dead. One in every four children start to death in the country currently. It is specifically due to US funding and lack of international intervention; ironically, what the UN is for.

I kow it's late kinda- but I want you to look up how many terrorist attacks were made in Israel since it's foundation (monthly, weekly, dayily) and then think- was retaliatiion of Israel justified or not... ofc bad things will happen when army comes in, but... when Israeli children hand to live since it's foundation with every month with 3-5 attacks for years, and in 2000-2020 with 3-5 per week... aka you have only 2 days a week that you can be sure you won't die in a bus or whatever coz of suicide bombers, knife attacks, car rams, rockets. like it's not ok.. every1 who is born 199X knows it. Also look up Egypt and Israel border comparison.. Like I don't say Israel is doing everything right, or Gazan regular people deserved it. And I know personaly that jews can be kinda racist themselves.. but yet again not all of them are bad. And many don't like their "Top guy" as well.
But news about 600k dead are false tho. Even in Russia vs Ukraine not that many died in 2 years. And its countries with big armies that went against each other with full force, fully flattening the cities across HUGE amount of land, not small gaza strip. Never trust news fully. they lie to you. coz goverments always want to push THEIR narrative and what will win them the most votes to let them do what they do.
And UN- it does not care. It's mostly under Emirates that did pretty much the same things to many other countries, but for worse reasons.. infuence and power. nobody was walking with "save Yemen" parades, etc.

DWelp here trying to defend the actions of the Israeli government. In another thread they were defending the American government for basically kidnapping American citizens under the guise of "trying to find illegal immigrants". Need I remind you that doing that is illegal in many instances (specially when you don't give the suspects -yes, suspects- chance to defend themselves and find their documents)?

Let’s all remember that nations and their governments are NOT the same as the religious groups living in them, even if Israel loves to claim they are a jewish nation. Its dangerous to mix up what Israel is doing and jews as a group of people (who are living in different countries and are not all conservative nationalists). An individual jew can be as racist as a christian or hindu, its all about fear, money or hate, not something their faiths teach.
