Should I start a band? (3)

I've always wanted to create music. I play a bunch of instruments and have friends that do too. The thing is though...I have really bad stage fright...

Well, less stage fright and more social anxiety... (╥_╥)

My anxiety is so bad that I have trouble checking out at stores and ordering food at restaurants. My hands always get so clammy, I'll start breathing faster (not full on hyperventilating but still noticeably faster), and sometimes I just won't be able to speak.

I've tried uploading some original songs to Youtube and Tiktok, and I've even tried some live streaming apps like Spoon, but even those freak me out.

A friend of mine recently got offered an opportunity that would let us start a band together, but I'm worried that I'm gonna ruin it for her with my dumb anxiety.

Should I try or should I tell her to ask someone else? I'm just looking for general advice on this. Thanks in advance.

I don't think you should allow your anxiety to stop you from doing what you want to do.

If you and your friend really want to start a band then do so. You can work through any problems that arise together.

On my first gig, the peeps who were watching said I was the definition of shoegaze, I never glanced the audience once
I spent the whole performance looking at my shoes.
A couple of years have passed, and now I sometimes go to gigs of other bands and randomly go up stage and play drums for the closing of the shows

Stage fright, even when you are a very anxious person, is something that you can learn to cope with! :)

don't let it ruin your dreams :)
