Sofar Sounds: Private Music Gigs (3)

Hey guys, I just wanted to raise awareness about this cool music experience I recently found out about! They're called Sofar Sounds and what they do is they set up private and intimate music gigs with (mostly local) artists.

Basically, you sign up and look up your city (they're a global company) and check for upcoming gigs. When you sign up, you can also opt to add a plus one. They'll send you an email with the event's address a day before the event and you won't know who's playing until you get there. Since this is a private event, you have to be on the list to get in. Sometimes, they'll have BYOB events, too!

This is great if you're looking for new music to listen to or just looking for something fun to do on a weekend if you love music. If you're an upcoming artist, you can also talk to them and see if you can perform at one of their events. I've only been to one so far (pun intended lol) and I loved the warm vibe of the event and I really liked the music, particularly a band called Foxtrax which I recommend checking out! :-)

Disclaimer: I am in no way affiliated to Sofar, nor is this advertising. I just really enjoyed the event and it seems that not many people know about it--at least in my area-- so I thought I'd pass on the word :-)

Would you describe these events as family friendly? Just wondering because I might look into it

>>2 Yeah, I definitely would! For the one I went to there was actually a bar mitzvah party going on for a boy and his friends (who were all kids lol). I guess the parents put all the friends on the guest list? In any case, two bands ended up interacting with the kids. Despite there being a lot of drinking going on, it is discouraged to get drunk. The vibe is more warm and private rather than rowdy and lit.
