Let's be real here - the UI for this site is buns, so it's somewhat unreasonable to expect people to dig up a 4-year-old thread with the last activity on it 2 years ago.

Also, where's the duplicate policing for the K-Pop, Twenty-One Pilots or even the Jazz threads currently on the front page?

Now, I'm only having a jape, but it is somewhat frustrating when the policies are only enforced inconsistently, y'know?

It used to be expected that people read the rules and FAQ on main which explains to people how they're supposed to use the site - it still gets bumped so it's always on top of Main. Obviously one of those rules is that threads aren't supposed to have duplicates, and people who made them used to really get railed on. But yeah, pretty sure most of the mods have left at this point, so nobody enforces those rules anymore. This probably isn't gonna get saged.

But yeah, back when the users did actually police this site making a decent thread was something of a rare, legitimate contribution to a BBS wherein most posts were (and are) garbage. You were expected to write a decent description, with a nice photo, so everything could be archived nicely and the site remained fairly organised. So yeah, I made the Radiohead thread. Spent a fair bit of time writing it and stuff. This particular duplicate is a personal affront to my old school BBS proclivities, so obviously I refuse to tolerate that shit!




...seriously, though. It is a tad annoying when people make duplicates of my threads. I'm petty.

Also policing a Radiohead thread is way easier than doing it for a k-pop thread or 21 pilots one. I got sick of that ages ago. I mean, there's a new one of those every week, and do you really expect those to prompt any actual discussion?

Yeah, congrats on getting this thread started like four years ago. There's no way I'm gonna go back and look for it, 'cause yeah, when you love something that's what you're gonna do, go back four years worth of music thread. No thanks.
