Ever since Plug.DJ died it's slow, painful death, the BBS has been without a place to swap and share music - but hopefully this'll fix that.

I’ve gone and made a new ‘official’ Dollars-BBS room on Dubtrack.FM, another social DJ/music site. Dubtrack works similarly to the way Plug did, albeit without the dancing avatars and with a slightly different queue system, but it’s fairly easy to get used to.

Gotta say, good turnout for the first day, even on such short notice.

Can anyone tell me how to use dubtrack? I'm pretty lost with it...

>>6 OK. For starters, in order to add songs to your queue and play songs in a room, you have to set up a free account - though it's not necessary just to listen.

On the bottom left of the page is a play symbol - clicking it will bring up your queue. This bit works similarly enough to the way Plug.dj did - you can search YouTube and Soundcloud to find tracks and you can reorder them by clicking and dragging.

By adding a song to your playlist/queue, you are automatically added to the room queue, which will play the song at the lop of your list when your turn comes around. As long as you have songs in your queue, you'll stay in the room queue, if not, you'll automatically be dropped from the queue (as far as I am aware)

Also, on the bottom right of the screen there are a row of icons - a heart (to 'love' or 'grab' a song) and arrows (which work like upvotes or downvotes). Upvotes contribute to room rank (I still don't 100% know how that works) and downvotes can skip a song if enough people in the room cast them.

I updated the room info and page welcome message with a small request - please post to this thread when you're in the room and feel like sharing some music.

I already know some 'users' (like >>24 & >>10) that post when they're on/in - but not everyone does. I can see in the room history a few users that popped in, spun a couple songs alone, and then left - but spinning alone defeats the purpose of a social music site like Dubtrack, no?

Hopefully more peeps will let us know when they're in, and we keep the room more active, or at least as active as the old Plug one.

Holy crap. Plug.dj is back - who knows for how long - but it's among the living once more.

We've been using plug over Dubtrack since we found out it was up again. You should bump that thread instead.
