Intrested to see what different kinds of labels sign, genre wise etc
Yes it's very similar to Xissx's thread, I thank him/her for kick starting the idea in my mind.

I'd be curious to see if this works.

As much as I like music, I tend to focus more as a listener and less as a businessman or industry insider, and thus I don't often pay attention to record labels. There are a few that I like and often look forward to releases from though, so I guess I'll share one:

Topshelf Records.

As a whole, the company seems very down-to-earth, they often hire great bands (TWIABP, A Great Big Pile of Leaves, among others) and give foreign groups a chance in the States (Enemies, Toe) and I just love most of the things they release. They're also a Boston-based label, so that's cool.

Bump.
Name: Future Classic.
Formed: Sydney, Australia, 2004
Genre: Multiple/Indie
Band/artist: Flume, James Blake, Chrome Sparks, Classixx, Flight Facilities, Panama, Touch Sensitive, Sebastien Tellier, Mount Kimbie, Chet Faker, Scenic, Lapalux, Tiger & Woods, Holy Ghost!, Toro Y Moi and more

I'm a very frequent listener of Future Classic. There is no real exact genre from this label since they seem to release anything from indie dance, to shoegaze, but I feel like everything they release is a hit with me, as I seem to enjoy every track I listen to from them. Even if i happen to stumble upon an artist or band I've never heard of from this label, I know I'll mange to like it by the end of the listen.
So I happen to like several artist and bands all from the same label long before knowing that fact, this must be the label for me!

>>2 I'd have to say this.
I hardly ever pay attention to record labels.

But bump for learning
