I don't listen to many of these, but I recognize Public Enemy, Massive Attack, Radiohead, Weird Al (lol'd), Aphex Twin, and Portishead, all of which I need to check out at some point. Good start to a good thread.

Here's my Thrice collection. I'll also post my inhereted U2 collection and a some other select albums that I own and really love. I've got a bunch more downloaded or bought online, but I'm only including physical copies because I'd have way too many to post them all here otherwise. lol

Ah, I've got a pretty big collection, but they're all at my father's house so I'll just list down what I can remember. I also have a lot more music on my computer, but this is for CDs so I'll shut up.
Daft Punk - Homework; Discovery; Human After All; Alive 2007; Musique Vol. 1; Random Access Memories.
Pendulum - Hold Your Colour; In Silico; Immersion.
Deadmau5 - Random Album Title; For Lack of a Better Name; 4x4=12; Album Title Goes Here.
Celldweller - Celldweller 10th Anniversary Edition; The Complete Cellout Vol. 1; Live Upon a Blackstar; Wish Upon a Blackstar (Normal and deluxe editions, woohoo); some other CDs I can't remember the names of.
Blue Stahli - Blue Stahli; Antisleep Vol. 1, 2, and 3.
Zedd - Clarity.
Nero - Welcome Reality.
Justice - Cross.
Gorillaz - Demon Days; Plastic Beach; most of their other CDs but I don't remember all the names.
I think I've also got some metal CDs lying around but I don't ever listen to them so I'll leave those out.
That's all I can think of; sorry I can't take a photo.

Heard that this is their best yet.

This week is so busy I have no time to clear my music backlog but I'll def. check this out soon.

>>25 Wouldnt go as far as to say its their best yet BUT t could possibly top my albums of the year list. Even above TWIABP.

Well it only came out today so no reason to rush it.

27 Name: Yatahaze !E/8OvwUzpY : 2013-09-26 18:17 ID:v0ByqS22 [Del]

Just listened to it, definitely liked it better than PTSBBAM, haven't heard To The Beat yet either so I can't compare those two.

Those last 3 songs are superb.
When I have the time I'm gonna have to go through the lyrics later. Bolm's stuff has always been hit-or-miss for me but from what I heard, this time is far more on the hit side. /o/

28 Name: Bulma!gfkvD0.aME : 2013-09-27 16:22 ID:TnkGRhNm [Del]

>>27 PTSBBAM is one of my favourite albums ever. To me it isnt musically stronger but lyrically it nearly stands up to PTSBBAM

I think I liked it better when he was an emotonal wreck. I like how hes come full circle and this album was like a personal purge for Jeremy.

So I have a question to ask, does anyone else occasionally print out artwork for burnt CDs they own and assemble it to make a realistic copy of the package?

Like, take this for instance, which I finished assembling this morning: the cabs' Recur Breath. Might be my favorite EP of all time, downloaded it legally from their bandcamp a year ago, and I really wanted to own a copy, but with shipping upwards of over 25$, fuck that. So I printed out the artwork, wrote up and printed the lyrics and translations into a booklet, cut and taped shit together and voila: looks like the real thing!

...for all I know this may technically be illegal, but it's for my own personal use and I don't intend to sell it so I don't think it would be. Anyone else do this sometimes?
Pic [1/2] cause I'm kinda proud that it didn't turn out like shit. Clockwise from top left: cover, back cover, back of the booklet.

>>35 Copying it to a CD is not illegal. Distributing the CD or playing it publicly is illegal, as far as I know.

Didn't have a whole lot of money to spend, but to support Record Store Day/Black Friday sales at local places I went out and bought Scale The Summit's latest album The Migration (cool poster included) and Rise Against's new B-Side collection.

I still dig me some Rise Against. Their B-Sides are actually pretty good, and the "Ghost of Tom Joad" cover on there is stunning.

These are a few of my first records.
They're arranged in no particular order. But I'm pretty certain that if I did. Neon Indian's Era Extraña would go first, since it was the first record I went out and bought with my first paycheck.
Anyway.

Grimes - Visions
Sonic Youth - Goo (LP Collector's Edition)
Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures
The Album Leaf - Singles and remixes (Signed by Jimmy LaValle)
Whirr - Pipe Dreams
Neon Indian - Era Extraña (transparent vinyl)
Electric Youth - The Best thing (7 inch single, fluorescent green vinyl, signed by all)
The XX - XX & Coexist

I'll try to upload some more later or whatever.

Figured I'd bump this good ol' thread back from oblivion with the 2014 stuff I bought. Top row has some of the best records from last year; (L-R) Trophy Scars' Holy Vacants, Weatherbox's Flies In All Directions, La Dispute's Rooms of the House, and Kishi Bashi's Lighght. Middle row is other fantastic stuff, Saintseneca's Dark Arc, Spoon's They Want My Soul, and Cymbals Eat Guitars' LOSE.

Bottom row is other odds and ends from the year, Periphery's Clear, Manchester Orchestra's Cope, Braid's No Coast, and The World Is A Beautiful Place...'s Between Bodies

There were tons of other great shit that was on my end of the year list but I didn't get the chance to grab, but oh well.

>>60 Aside from Clear and Rooms of the House, I recognise nothing there, and this worries me. I should probably start listening to more new stuff.

Went to see Syndey post-rock/metal band We Lost the Sea on Saturday, and I was so impressed with their show that right after I purchased all of their albums.

The packaging and artwork for all of them is gorgeous. I'll be posting some shots of the inlays a little later.

>>68 Departure Songs is an awesome post-rock album, but it's the kind of slow, plodding album that builds up to one amazing closer. It's a really great album and you should definitely check it out, but I'd recommend starting with their second, The Quietest Place on Earth. It's a bit more in the vein of post-metal, but it's a lot less repetitive and more likely to keep you listening.

Finally managed to track down a copy of Jimmy Eat World's Clarity that wasn't ridiculously expensive. 2nd hand, ywah, but that's never bothered me. Half price, too.

And yeah, I'm pretty much gonna post here every time I buy a new CD. There'll be more tonight.

I'd post my shit, but I have too much to fit into just a few photos.
>I have a whole 5-inch binder/case full of CDs, like 50 albums/singles on vinyl, and a handful of cassettes I have in a drawer...

My record collections really coming along nicely.

My collection of records, cassettes and CD's is a little too big to fit into a photograph - it'd take a full imgur album for that, but I'm too lazy to break out my camera.

I do, however, have a collection online http://myrecordlist.com/onchyophoran

(The site's pretty convenient if you have a decently sized collection)

>>76 yeah, mine too, really. I pretty much use this thread to post whenever I buy an album.

That's a pretty awesome collection, btw. Jealous of some of your records. I need to get a copy of In The Aeroplane Over the Sea from somewhere.

78 Name: onchyophoran : 2015-12-12 21:47 ID:YLt4QtzK [Del]

>>77 You can easily find it for a decent price on Amazon or through Discogs (which is where I bought some of my newer stuff.)

I inherited some of my collection from my dad and my grandad, which is how I am lucky enough to have some of those releases, especially the original pressing run Wall, Final Cut and Santana, and how I have some of those old jazz records.

Though I am quite proud of my more recent acquisitions - especially my A tout à l'heure 7" and Eclipse/Blue 10"
> It's particularly satisfying to have two of some of your all-time favourite tracks on vinyl of their own.

Black Sabbath - Master Of Reality
Bill Evans Trio - How my Heart Sings!
Bill Evans Trio - Portrait in Jazz
David Bowie - Diamond Dogs (7" single)
The Flex - Wild Stabs in the Dark
Metallica - Ride The Lightning (UK Original)
Santana - Abraxxas (UK original)
Santana - Self Titled (UK original)
Sleep - Holy Mountain
Style Council - Long Hot Summer (Promo 12")

Probably more, my memory is shite
