My Chemical Romance is an American alternative rock band from New Jersey, formed in 2001. The band consists of lead vocalist Gerard Way, guitarists Ray Toro and Frank Iero, and bassist Mikey Way. Shortly after forming, the band signed to Eyeball Records and released their debut album I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love in 2002. They signed with Reprise Records the next year and released their major label debut Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge in 2004; the album was a commercial success, and was awarded platinum status a little over a year later.[1] The band eclipsed their previous success with their 2006 concept album, The Black Parade, which gained generally favorable reviews among music critics.[2] Their fourth studio album, Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, was released on November 22, 2010, to positive reviews. The band is currently working on a fifth studio album.[3]

I love MCR~ I am a member of the MCRmy, myself. I like they're new crap, but it's not as good as the old stuff. Black Parade was my favourite album, and it was so sad.

The Black Parade was the sadest album for one fact: When this album was made it was the height of Gerard Way's depression.

Heard of one song: The Sharpest Lives. I heard that one song when I found a video when someone is drawing Murdoc Niccals from Gorillaz. And that song makes me and friends to go around a road trip and not on World Tour. It was like in Rock Band 3 with four girls.

I'm not a fan, but I actually saw Gerard Way twice this year - the first from the neighbouring stage at Soundwave while waiting for Steel Panther, and then again when they opened for The Smashing Pumpkins at their sidewave show.
Overall, he was fine. As you can imagine I was a little impatient when actually watching him play (it didn't help that the other opener at SP cancelled and as such they got an extra long set), but both his music and his performance were actually pretty good. I thought he was a bit whiny at times with his stage banter, and his movements and overall stage presence made me think of a poor man's Billy Joe Armstrong at times, but overall, it wasn't bad.
Music was okay. Couldn't quite distinguish between his stuff and MCR stuff, but apparently he mostly just did his own. I won't be picking up an album any time soon, but I enjoyed it for what it was.
And I know who he is now. That's a plus.
