Okay, so I ctrl-f'd and didn't find a thread for this amazing band!
Avenged Sevenfold is an american heavy-metal band that is known "for their diverse rock sound, dramatic imagery in album covers and t-shirts" .
So, has anyone heard (heh heh that's kind of a pun...not really) of them?

I've heard of them and I hate them. ^^

wow, there was legitimately no thread before this one? well...damn. Anyways, I listen to A7X quite a bit. their instrumentals are pretty cool, but their singer is kind of....annoying at times. After a while I've gotten used to it though and can't seem to be able to picture them with any other singer. I love their live performances though, and i have really only seen one or two bands who beat them in the visuals department.

Well their drummer died, and he also wrote a lot of their music and also was one of the singers. So their music will be a lot different now, with a new drummer, than before, with the previous drummer.

Also don't start saying 'They are Emo, not real Metal' and 'If you like them you're gay and don't know real Metal'. Because I swear you would've wished you had never even stated it.

They are Metal. There are a lot of differing BRANCHES of Metal, and they fall under it.

My sister and I used to listen A7X, she was a bigger fan than I was. But after The Rev died we both lost interest.

No. They only are using that Drummer 1 time, for a new Album, then they will go back to Dream Theater.

Awesome band. Too bad The Rev died before I knew about them. I just lost interest now because of their new drummer. But it's nice to listen to Afterlife or Nightmare every now and then.

I remember one time Rev came over to my house years ago back before they went mainstream. He was a cool guy.

yeah, Portnoy got kicked otu of Dream theater when he said he wanted to take one year off touring. it was sort of a dick move on dream theater's part. Man, are they going to miss out from now on. When he was touring with A7X, I saw him playing the rev's part WITH ONE FUCKING HAND WHILE PLAYING CATCH WITH ONE OF THE ROAD CREW WITH THE OTHER. The rev did not write any pussy shit drumlines either.

I just found this thread and was ecstatic lol wooo I love Avenged Sevenfold! And after skimming through the posts here and reading about The Rev and the band's new drummer and everything, I'm just wondering what other people think about The Rev's death, do you guys think he may have killed himself? ...im a little convinced this might be true. He composed Fiction on his own if I'm not mistaken, right? And if you pay close attention to the lyrics it sounds like he's saying goodbye... and I read somewhere that he originally named the song "Death". What does everyone else think?

Woot A7X FOR LIFE! Gotta love them, favorite song by them would definitely be Unbound The Wild Ride
