Prog metal and djent stuff? I honestly haven't heard of any band in groove metal >.>
But some bands I recommend that are prog metal:
-Animals As Leaders (First album is more rhythmic, more melodic, and their second album has a more djenty/electronic sound to it. Instrumental.)
-Scale The Summit (Instrumental. A more melodic and less repeating-version of Animals As Leaders, but its also less technical as AAL. I recommend their "The Collective" album.)
-Gru (Also sounds a bit like AAL, but has a more 'space metal' feel to it. Solo project, also instrumental)
-Periphery (Djent band, w/ vocals and the amazing Misha Monsoor.)
-Encircle (Pretty good djent solo-project, I think his album just came out recently too. Check out "Watch The Sky Fall")
-Protest The Hero (Another good prog metal band, everything is great- even the vocals. "C'est la vie" is my favorite by them :p.)
Also- are you into metalcore? 'cause there's another prog band (I *call* them prog metal, but they're really prog metalcore. BUT! They are that great, that technical, that... out there with their sound that I do not consider them metalcore.) that I have to offer, but since you were only asking for djent/prog metal/groove metal... >.>
Dream Theater...............sorry. ^^ HUm......Pantera is very groovy But, some of you talk about prog...........so, Sventh Wonder is very good, kind melodic, but awesome.
