I don't have alot of intelligent friends on facebook, so I wanted to post this here, to figure out what some of you guys think about this:Why is everyone trying to rap now-a-days? You can't just drop out of school and become a world famous rapper. You still need school. Here are a few reasons why:
1. You need a pretty big vocabulary for all the rhyming you would like to do.
2. It would be nice to know some music terms, meters and other things before jumping in and making beats in a studio somewhere.
3. Who is going to handle your money? Certainly not your parents or friends. That is recipe for disaster. So..looks like you are going to need some math as well.
4. Advertising for your "crew" takes quite a bit of knowledge, especially if you want to be successful. Want to know how to get the best advertisement into people's heads? Want to know what society is into at the moment? Sociology.
5. No idiot is going to walk in and hand you a deal. You need to be able to present yourself in an honorable manner. Also, success doesn't come over night. So, while you are waiting on that, you can wait for money on trees to grow,...
oh..wait..
or Get a job.
6.The music industry won't care about want you want, or how you want things. Ready to sell your soul to the devil called money? Have fun.
7. Many rappers have come forward saying all the imagery in rap/hip-hop videos is fake. The industry knows what appeals to kids, and filters/edits the videos around that. Don't believe me? Look at videos from 2000. Then 2005. Now today. What do you notice?
8. It is very unlikely you will get a high paying job w/o a HS degree if you fail at rapping. Always good to have a back-up plan.
9? Well..9 is just 9.
10. Music is an art, a way of expressing one's self. If you really want to do so, do it. Don't talk about killing people, weed, or having sex with everything in sight. Unless that really is how you feel, and in that case, I think its time to go see a doctor.
I have more reasons, but little room.
So that's it. 10 reasons why.

This is very true, however, if you actually look at a lot of rappers and whatnot, you will actually see that they can be very uneducated and downright stupid. The music industry just wants a receptacle for it's product, and it does not really matter to them who or even what this receptacle may be, as long as it appeals to the norm. In the end, the industry will probably be the ones who write their music and make their image, so they do not actually need any talent, wit or sophistication.

Oh, and to avoid arguments, NONE of what I said here was exclusive to rappers. Anyone can be stupid and talentless =)

I used to be a diehard fan of hiphop, and unfortunately it's true.

The best rappers make it look easy, inspiring the less intelligent ones who don't realise how hard it is to make to set off on misinformed forays into the world of music.

It's a shame but it happens, so what can ya do?
