...On the downside, I have to give the song you linked a... 4. Generously.

It was decent - it had a beat, which they followed, I guess. It might just be because I can't understand a thing they're saying, but it seemed really lame. Usually rap and hip hop songs get away with sounding bland, flat, dissonant, or boring, by sheer virtue of being badass or fun to listen to. This song struck me as neither of the last points, but all of the first points.

I'm not saying the genre doesn't have songs that are unique, flavorful, in-tune and exciting, just that a lot of successful songs are kind of bad, musically - but great for the hype.

I added an extra point to my rating to give it the benefit of the doubt - the few english words I could understand gave me a sense of the song being really lame (bubble gum, movie star...), but I can't really rule out the possibility that what they were saying in korean was in fact awesome and awe-inspiring.


...I apologize for probably coming off as overly critical. I don't mean to criticize anything of you personally if you do like the song. Maybe it just isn't my genre, but hey, I gave a rating, biased or not ' ^'

I liked this song. The only things I have to complain about are bits about the percussion and the vocals:
During the verses, the drums seemed a little intrusive. It could've achieved the same effect without drowning out the vocals and guitars - that said, the vocals were a little bit unclear at times. His voice faded out a bit too much at the ends of some lines, when I would've preferred he held the note out a bit more.

Positive things though.
I loved the clean guitar sound during the verses, and the vocals during the chorus. Can't really embellish much more than that, I just thought they were really good.


By my scale, 8 seems to be a good rating to give a relatively good song that doesn't have any particular problems, but doesn't really stand out a whole lot. I reserve the usage of the last 2 points for the personal effect it invokes.

Ah, They Might Be Giants. Haven't heard much of these guys, but what I have heard is infectiously good. Some guy popped on "Exquisite Dead Guy" to our history teacher's iTunes last year, and for absolutely no reason other than that, it became our class theme song.

Not a bad song at all, I can't get it out of head in fact. I just didn't realize it was Japanese until it was 45 seconds in, so it made me feel stupid.

After 3:00 the piano was awesome, it was a steady stream of water admist the chaos that was the 3 min before it.

all in all, it aint the worst i have listend to and its memorable

6/10 The guitar part was pretty catchy. Also, really liked the arp in the background. Lyrics aren't extremely original, and I don't see it as being very remember-able to me. However, this isn't usually the type of music I listen to, so that's why.

Enjoyed the overall electronic rock style. Main riff was catchy as fuck, and tje vocal melody was fine too. Only gripe is that the vocals sound too processed, although I could believe that was a stylistic choice.

5/10 The first 7 minutes were cool and chill. Tbh, I skipped from 5 to the 7 minute mark (was getting kinda of bored of it by then) 7 minutes onwards was a little creepy. I am totally imagining an old radio transmission in my head right now because of this "song". Definitely not "listen to" music, but it was an interesting listen nonetheless.

Background music. Pleasant, but nothing particularly noteworthy about it. I haven't seen the anime, but I guess with music like this familiarity helps make it memorable.
