Did you know that our Dollars site was up for the very first time back in 19th of June 2010? And apparently, that day too is largely decided by members alike to be the day of our Dollar's born date, Dollars Day as we prefer to call it.

As the title blatantly states, lets celebrate this year's Dollars Day with some activities shall we?

Now the question I wanted to ask you all is :

Well, that's neat to read! I have to admit, I discovered this website back in 2017 but I never got to into it, probably because it felt a bit lonely seeing months old threads. Although, how did you guys previously celebrate the forum anniversary? I never got too into DRRR myself so I don't have any ideas to incorporate from canon, LOL.

Supposedly, we celebrated Dollars Day by holding a gathering event in our respective areas and this kind of thread would be used to list all the gatherings that would occur on D-Day.

Back in the day when group chats wasn't as common and accessible as nowadays, we'd also hold an online gathering through various platform depending on what has been agreed upon by the members on the site.

Then there's that one time where we try to raise awareness about our existence through social media, although that didn't really took off. And... it garnered some unwanted attraction, so it'd be really nice to avoid repeating history.

So we're on a blank slate really, since offline gathering is currently a no go. For the last 3 years, we've basically made a thread on D-Day and exclaimed "Happy Dollars Day!" in unison on a particular thread. Surely we can do better than that right?

What about doing something like an online scavanger hunt/puzzle/mystery game/ARG? We send an email with some clues, and also scatter some on a couple of boards, everyone could come together to solve it as a community. Thing is, I wouldn't even know where to start with making something like this, maybe one of you guys knows.

^ I think the ARG type of game is very interesting. Maybe a couple of codes? I've always wanted to participate in one but I'm sort of weak when it comes to puzzle solving.

How about a dollars bday photography/story-telling thread? Post about new hobbies you picked up being stuck at home during the pandemic. If you learned how to bake, you could make some dollars-themed cookies or if you picked up art, you could like reimagine the dollars logo and paint it on with a temporary ink like a tattoo (just examples)

Not sure how would you be able to buy all members of Dollars a cake and send it to their home address on time let alone knew where their address is. Unless you're the young heir of Kraft's or something, but that sounds too much like an anime level escalation progress.

Whoaaaa, this place has changed a lot! i'm glad it has since the last time i was on was like 2018.

Anyways, maybe all of us as dollars (if we want) could carry out the missions that are posted on here, or could just do things like volunteer work, or whatever. I mean, like, we could do stuff like the dollars did in DRRR, and take pictures of what we did and post them in this or a new thread.

Perhaps I spoke wrong, what I meant is that Dollars day is our special day you know. Can't we just relax and have our fun? Missions board is active all year round, and we do actually have a separate day for going all out in doing Missions, though I need to find that date first. But that's a whole another story.

I could help set up a livestream where we try to break the leaderboard for missions like tab for a cause, and free rice. Or we could gather on discord and play games like jackbox.

Also, regarding >>5, we maybe don't post the link to the site or too much info about the community itself. It could maybe give off a cool ominous vibe, but show to those that already know them, that the dollars are still alive.
Another idea I have is to send an email to everyone in the email list, with the objective of bringing back old dollars members, im not to sure about this idea and we've already kinda discussed it in another thread (https://dollars-bbs.org/suggestions/res/1618673835.html), so suggestions are very much welcome.

• Online Gathering
  Clear enough explanation from the outset I think, a big meet up event for Dollars, but online! Voice chats are optional, and you could stay in the message chat if you weren't comfortable with that.
  
  Some people suggested we enjoy ourselves by playing Jackbox together on multiplayer, others suggested to organize a 'raid' for the Freerice mission or the Tab For A Cause mission in an attempt to spam the score as well as cranking up the donations.



• ARG Puzzle Game (Alternate Reality Game)
  Ever heard of Halo 2's promotional campaign? Cicada 3301? Gravity Falls Cipherhunt Scavenger Event? That's where the hotpot is at when we're talking about ARGs. In summary, ARG is a game that blends everyday digital mediums with the everyday physical environment around the player. These digital mediums consisted of (but not limited to) emails, websites (often “fake” ones created specifically for the game), social media, physical or digital documents.
  
  Essentially, if you can communicate with it, it can be used as part of an ARG. The primary game element is attempting to solve difficult puzzles (read: riddles, ciphercodes, etc) using information presented through said mediums.



• Cake Day
  Self explanatory I reckon, the premise is to make a Dollars-themed cake and share it with other Dollars member. But I don't think that would be possible with the current situation of our world, unless someone owns a multi-billion bakery company, and a worldwide parcel delivery service. Just so no one gets left behind and didn't get their cake, I guess.



Sharing your newly found hobby(s) during pandemic
The premise is to share our experiences in lockdown, how we cope with the growing loneliness and picked up a new hobby to combat it. It is proposed that we do this in a thread, but I bet we could do this just about anywhere we'd do the online gathering. Hitting two birds with one stone, as they paraphrased it.

Someone suggested me this behind the curtains, and for one I'm not sure what it meant or how should we do it. But he gave an example and based on that, I found wordart.com and I think what we need is to just list out our names and no less, share it here or somewhere in Dollars so everyone can see.

Make a birthday card be it in the form of art, poetry, or messages with good wishes, submit it to one person and compile it into a file and make it a mural! Simple enough, I think

The things listed on >>48 will be what we PROBABLY do for Dollars Day, I say 'probably' because 6 is clearly not a small number and I'm skeptical towards the number of participations on D-Day. That's why I made this thread a month in-advance, to let you all know and be prepared, possibly to even get involved.

FindMuck has stepped up to organize the Freerice raiding agenda in an attempt to top the leaderboard, exciting stuff I admit. But as far as I know, he hasn't mentioned anything about Online Gathering although he's planning to stream himself on Twitch doing the deed. Perhaps that's the Online Gathering premise? I don't know, a confirmation would be really nice though. Maybe I should ask him later, or if any of you would do it for me then that'd be nice.

As for I, the cake I'll be taking would be the ARG Puzzle Game. Have you read the summary of ARG in >>48? I can't wait I'm so excited for Dollars Day, but it seems there's a new holiday being celebrated as well, "Juneteenth". Hope they both go off without a hitch for everyone that has plans! Is anyone going to get a cake to celebrate with?
