What is freedom? (10)

1 Name: violet : 2018-11-15 14:26 ID:tb4zFuDv [Del]

I want everyone's view on this

2 Name: Fait : 2018-11-15 15:31 ID:GaUAFdmw [Del]

It's the power to not be bound by law, morals, society etc

Freedom is not being bound by anything. Most people think that freedom is following there own laws or rules, but to be truly free you would need to not fear death. Real freedom is rare, to be truly free you need to break the laws.... But then they bound you in a prison and everything you fought for is gone. In the end we're all bound by death with no escape.

Freedom is what YOU think freedom is. It is something that cannot be given to you, but it is something you enjoy.

>>3 I agree with you but you could say that freedom manifests itself in someone's body when you live with your ideals and dreams and you do everything to keep them.

>>3 >>5 I fully agree with you

You can interpret freedom as different things. There's actually a study that kind of clarifies what I want to say. It's called the "Allegory of the Cave aka. Plato's Cave"

Freedom is an abstract idea and cannot be explained because many people misunderstand it as "being free to do whatever they want without restraints." However, this is not the case because no one is 100% free. As a common example, if smokers are free to smoke, then non-smokers are also free to live in an environment without any smoke, but how would those contradictory situations be possible? Hence, some constraints are placed, so no one has full complete freedom. or so I think.

Freedom for me is something vary abstract. You can't reach freedom if not in your imagination. Freedom is living in peace without any regret. It is, indeed, possible to think that we are free even if we aren't. We'll always have something to do that we don't want to, life itself is a cage that we can't brake easly (or we can, it depends). I guess that there is no answer for you question, or better, there is more then one.

Solitude. Privacy. The power to choose and to fantasize. Absence of obligations and responsibilities. I'm happy as long as one of those is available, though probably none would stay that way. We think it's conceptual because we know we can't be rid of burden, but maybe it's already freedom just to be able to post random thoughts here ^^
