Look people, I'm a long time poster (2 years around about) of Random.
The one of the few times I come here, I notice a big problem.

Almost everything here is just people bumping.
WTF? Why is there only one thread with some actual discussions going on? Do you guys really believe that this helps the new comers? Having only threads that say "Bump!"?

I think this really needs to change.
We need to start some actual discussions here.

Even if people don't read this stuff, do you really think, having a few threads, with literally hundreds of "bump"s at the top, encourages new people to join?
I think not.

So, let's actually talk here for once.

The reason why certain threads are bumped is so that new comers can read how the thread works. It's meant to be an introduction to the board that they're looking at. How about instead of complaining about not enough discussions happening, try to idk...have a conversation?

Sites been overrun by users acting like mods and they're killing all the fun.

Main has two shades, what it looked like yesterday, and what it looks like now. Neither are much help. But seeing that it's all user submitted content, who can you really blame?

This is so true^. I actually plan to do something big in life that is helpful to thousands of people. I wrote it down and planned it out. Maybe if we have more people that take is seriously then we can get things done and get our name out there. But another thing about this site is that It's free to join. There are videos on youtube that tell the password, so random people can join with no real interest in helping the world. If I could, I would make a site just like this one but with an account.

Yeah. I believe one problem is that people might be scared to actually post anything (specifically on the Main).

To those already hitting the sage button, I know you're tired of introductions and spam but (hell knows i am) this seems like a relevant topic of discussion, no? The Main board is meant for overreaching issues and topics of discussion for the Dollars. I think people just don't know what to post

I've been saying this for a while now.

Bump up the discussions that exist with additional content or create new ones. Whining won't make that happen.

(And there are still way too many "do this, don't do that" threads right now that really don't need to be bumped. Stick with the RTIYN and FAQ imo unless you're clearing spam / etc.)

(I'm really surprised there hasn't been a Trump discussion thread by now. That'd probably be a good one to make if you want a more active topic on this board.)

Yeah, it might be better to just close / archive that and start back up with a link to it. I think the length of the existing discussion keeps scaring people off, even if it's bumped with additional content.

Well, I definitely agree that this is a problem, but sometimes when a post needs to be "bumped", it can be kind of hard starting an actual discussion depending on which kind of post it is.

I think we should have a PSA tab. And it can be a subsection of some-sort that offers priority on these pages, or perhaps a welcome screen. And we can host a tab like the main page as it is now, that offer what should be displayed on this inital Dollars website-welcome notice page, after putting in the password. It would offer useful information , events, PSA's, and whatever other information we'd find beneficial.

Plus, it would give the admin ninja's a lot more to do around this site other than banishing useless threads into the depths of shame. I think it would be good to update the site a bit, I know that it was moddled after the anime and all of that, but anyone who's been here for anytime know's that it's not like the anime at all, in-fact we make a keen effort to deviate from that image. I think it would be a good message to send to the new-comers on this site that this is not what that is supposed to be. This is something more realistic, and I think the first step into doing that is to spiff up the place because to be honest staring at this same Myspace inspired depot.feed for years it gets a little bit on the... mundane side.

anywho, I could drift for ours into an aimless thought frenzy. so I'mmma drop off here.

There are quite a few of us that intend to be in this for the long run, that want to make a difference. And if the fork in the road is saying step up or stand aside, I say step up. If you look at the description of main, it says conversations of actual discussion. If we refrain from silly or trolly posts and have legitimate discussions of the direction and future of the dollars there should be no reason to sage and the manner of bumping would be through input from multiple members that wish to truly do something within the dollars.

Bumping is to bump threads up to the viewable section. Bumping also shifts all other threads down. Members tend to bump relevant threads so that they remain at the top. But we cannot forget that main is not so much the welcome page but more so the page for Mass notification and threads of relevant discussion among other things. There have been talks of a welcome page that is required to be seen before accessing the site but it's just talks. Now..lastly but not of least importance, we welcome you to the dollars. We are glad to have you and hope you create strong friendships as well as everlasting memories. I do urge you to seek out the "if you are new" threads and read them, and if you have any questions we are here for you. Also add yourself to the map if you wish to meet other members but always remain safe. Again welcome to the dollars.

I am still a little new to the Dollars and I bump the informative threads and the threads that I think sould be looked at by others.
