I wanted to post this because I was thinking- the Dollars in Durarara had a leader, he was just unknown. This got me thinking-is it possible we have something like this? I mean, we have the Admin, but could we have a genuine leader, but nobody knows who they are?
Also, when thinking about this, I decided to read the thread about the Dollars becoming a "real life" gang, in which we were TRULY an online gang. What would we have to achieve that? How would we get members? Would we hold meetings? If so, where would we?
I'm not saying that this would be a true thing that WOULD happen, but it is definitely interesting to think about a world where the Dollars are a well known group you see on the news fairly often for doing (good, hopefully) deeds or acts. And to close this post, I think it would be a good world to live in. Now I ask of you, what do you think? Should we have a "leader" or remain all equals in this "gang"? Should we be a public figure, people who do things that in time, get noticed? Should we broadcast our voice, letting everyone know we are the Dollars?

Well, I'd The Dollors becomes a real life gang than we're just doing a really good thing. No I didn't think we should broadcast out voices let everyone knew know we are the Dollors. We can do good things so everyone can talk about it. But honestly if the Dollors can became a real life gang than sign me up. I want to become a member. But, a leader I didn't think that's a good idea. Just like the anime. The leader doesn't show off. The Dollors is a good gang. Yes,we should remain equal in this "gang". If someone becames l the leader than, some people well try to become the leader. We're an online gang.

Heyo Kitsugara. Let me tell you Ifill the same way no one knows about us. When I notice that Dollars from DRRR existed I was like "hell you now I can be part of something" and I was thinkoing that I be able now to have some of the excitement that shows us tha anime, but in the end that was just it; my thought. Dont get me wrong, I mean yeah this is fun but not the fun i was expecting for. I wish for everyone in everyore be like; "hey do you know about the dollars? that internet famous gang" and they be talking about us EVERWHERE, internet, tv news, newspaper, in the street of all over the world. But then again, with how easy it is to join once you know about it, if everyone knew about the dollars then we wouldn't really be a relatively small group of people who can talk to each other freely and openly anymore. We might see spammers of people showing up just to because everyone else is doing it, people not being here for the right reasons. Just my thoughts

I think if we plan these like something serious mybe we can convince the admin to change the password to, I dont know instead of baccano Durarara or something like that so people that want to do it just because everyone is doing it dont have access that easiliy only we that are doing these and of course the people of the Dollars comunity. xXIYuutoIXx, I'm not sure if that would be the greatest idea as far as changing the password. If we change the password, it would upset all the forums that the password has been leaked onto- Yahoo Answers, Youtube, Quora, and more. It is a great idea to keep the initiative if being good people, but disrupting things that have been around for quite a while, 2 or 3 years in fact.

Oh. Sorry! If we actually plan to do a big operation like this, taking something from the Internet, we'd need:
1)Dedicated members committed to doing good
2)Meetings of some sort
3)"Advertisement". Integrity is not going to make us known.

Well if you need a dedicated member here I am, a meeting..... I dont think a physical meeting could be so what do you think aout I dont know skype?. And the third point I dont really agree taking for example the 8booth thread we can do a donation by the name of the dollars, maybe everyone by himself couldnt donate so much mony but if we all do it maybe a considerable amount of money could be collected. There is a example how if we have integrity we could make us known.

Yeah! I agree with you all on how to get the Dollars noticed. I printed out a bunch of papers with our logo on it, and I think I'm going to go out those around wherever me or another Dollar(AKA my friends) do something good. Putting our name out whenever we do something for the community is a good place to start. We have plenty of members.

I think if we were to have a "leader" it would kinda ruin the freedom people have been here for a long time have loved. Of course having some sort of leadership role would be nice but isn't the main appeal of the dollars, what made it different within the anime and even now, was the fact we could be whoever we wanted. That we had that freedom? But even if everyone was willing to give that up you would have to find someone trustworthy enough that the entire community could get behind. Unknown or not most people are probably not willing to blindly follow someone. I get that feeling from most of the people on this website. We are are fairly independent and we enjoy that freedom without punishment.

I don't think the dollars would ever turn into a "real life" thing. We are all to far spread to even try to meet in one city state or country. The only way I could see that happening would be if we had sectional leaders. A leader for each city, then state/territory and then country. The sectional leaders would organize the meetings and discuss what to talk about with the other leaders. But that goes back to the idea of will people actually listen and follow that person.

I think we should just all remain as equals. We have all entered this somewhat set mind set. Trying to change that now may be dangerous and if people are unhappy with it. It may destroy the website. Since it people are unhappy they'll leave. I can't tell you have many active dollars there are but I know there are a lot. Most of them lurking and silently doing missions.

But I think broadcasting our voice is a good thing as long as we don't lose hold of the dollars original goal. We are here to help people. If we broadcast a positive message and useful things then it would be alright. But you don't have to brodcast yourself as a dollar. I think that is something that should be optional. I think if your doing good in the world, it doesn't matter if you are spreading the Dollars name or not. Many people try to say that doing broadcasting is a bad idea because it would make us seem like we are only in it for the fame and glory. So if you are going to brodcast I would tell you to do it full heartedly, send out a positive and clear message and do it on and off of your own free time. Not your school time and not your dollar time.

Well I foun this page 2 or 3 years ago so I can tell you I spend so much time thinking about it, if theres going to be a leader him has to be someone with pretty much freetime. For example if I became the leader my thought will be just to organize the people so we can do this correctly and well this are the dollars so even if am the leader I cant order anything to anyone. And about how, just like I said sending a message like, from randome people, and if some close friend or acquaintance is interested, trying to make them help too. And as someone said make some organizators for each country so the dollars make some meetings, and known each other.

I don't know. Maybe not having a leader, or at least not one who decides group actions for us, is a good idea.

I think the leader, if there is one (it's one of those things that's decided once everyone actually gets working with each other if it feels necessary), should be someone responsible but not too intimidating, and someone who's good with communicating with people in order to work with their needs.

If y'all seriously want to make this work, I suggest you get together first in a group chat. It should be on a platform that works on both computer and mobile, and that's suited for large groups. Maybe Discord? That's more geared toward big chats and different topics and whatnot.

Selecting a leader should happen once everyone's established their goals and starts working together, just to see who is actually fit.

Also, with missions, start of small and get progressively bigger. Test the waters on what everyone is actually willing to do. This Dollars group should be dedicated to helping people, and not just becoming famous. So we should have both set missions that everyone will get done and ways to figure out how to help people in our lives.

TL;DR: Don't select a leader out of the blue. Discuss goals/missions/organization in a chat. Start small with missions, being a charitable person is easier said than done.

They don't have to be Durarara fans, just people out to do good and make change in the world. I am personally not onboard with this thread. Expect for maybe the broadcasting section but seeing as how many people are truly excited and interested I will do harder to try and think on the positive.

But it would help, if someone who is passionate on the subject go further into depth about it for me. Plans might not be fully worked out yet. But I would like to know the ideas and thoughts you have for finding a leader and/or public figure. What would they do and who would organize how we find them? Do we vote? We definitely need to work more of this out. I'm honestly not sure what can be agreeable to all of us out of everything covered, but its a start. With people who are serious about this. I'm sure we can all agree having the Dollars reputation spread for doing good in the world is key. If a leader is decided or happens to pop up, so be ot i guess.

But from what I can tell, no one here now what they want or how they're going to get it. They just want "it" whatever that may be. Now while unknown, compare that 9 to the number of dollars who visit the BBS monthly. You haven't thought of the big picture, you have only thought and accepted the ideas in this small little group. Without the rest of the site on board you can't do anything. Why? Yes there will most likely those who agree. But how about those who truly disagree. If they out weight those who want this, it can not longer be done.

I just want to say this is only my opinion. I think in part kuroi ryu isnt wrong on what he/she said about the percents . It really is a massive difference between the new number of active and inactive Dollars, and what will happen if we made someone "the leader" that we already have one; the admin, but think about this just that ones who want to do participate and make the dollars a worldwide gang should follow him. And that a leader isn't necessary, just someone that organize the people without make them do what they want, of course being elected by everyone. Now about the numbers; I don't think, but do you hear about the 15 birthday party of Ruby? Here in Mexico was a phenomenon of a 15 birthday in wich there where more than 30 thousand's of people went, this was because a video that was upload to YouTube by "inviting everyone who wants to go" a pretty stupid thing. What I mean if 2 people (the father and Ruby) where the ones that make everything, why us that we're 9 from what kuroi ryu said can't do something like that? We have one point in favor the dollars is a internet gang what does this mean? It wouldn't pass just like an event and that's all (of course if the admin continue maintaining the site going) every single thing we do is going to keep being there and the people little by little will start gaining and gaining interest and then it'll be a real "internet subculture" like someone said. The dollars has a leader, you can do meetups for missions, etc etc things are pretty well.
If you want to make a change in how it works, become a leader in the ranks.

How? Be active here and work at it.
Not everything is as simple as "Do this" or "Do that", it takes work and time. This site is very old and has been going for a long time as it is now.

If you want to have some sort of leadership within this community set up a useful mission or join one. But that doesn't mean we need to create an entirely new system which may just end up failing in the end.

I'm not putting words into your mouth. That's just what came across to me. I'm sorry if that is wrong but that's just what I got from your story. But I had no intentions of joining the project. Also, I wasn't really talking about getting the Dollars known worldwide. More about the leadership system so there appears to have been some sort of miscommunication between the two of us. If I wasn't interested in making the dollars somewhat known I would be running a YouTube channel or instagram account for the group. I don't think we should go as far as having the world know about the group out. I'm using the accounts to bring more attention to the causes we support. Also rather than just anime fans I rather attract those who are willing to work and actually do good. Them being anime fans would be a bonus in my opinion

I do think we should say that were a gang called the dollars doing good things for society etc. And no i think the best possibility is to remain leaderless and all equal. I think we should get known by the world. Imagine the differences we can make and impact it. A lot of people are ignorant and don't want to do anything with this group. And just keep it as a low-key game to them where they have fun etc. But i think this "gang" could go farther than expected. We shouldn't take this lightly.
