What we are going to do is on December 25th, 2015, we are going to be putting notes around your city or town with nothing other than our logo and the message "Because the world isn't as bad as you think." If everyone does this on the day mentioned, then there will be notes, all the same, appearing all over the world on the same day. That would get some attention. Now after this, we could organize large coordinated missions that would be decided upon at a later date. This would help us get recognized and adore that we are here to help as a force of good.

Guys, nothing is going to get done if we stay this disorganised. The Dollars already have a bad name (if you don't know, there's a post about it somewhere) and we need to fix that. If people keep abusing our name like those people did, we will all be blamed. We need to change what people think of us, and the only way to fix that is to put our name out. We don't have to do it so quickly or anything, but some organization needs to happen.

Also, this isn't in missions because it would drown quickly.

My issue with this is the fact that promoting the Dollars publicly tends to generate more chaos than organization.

It creates a flood of new users, and many have no idea how to properly navigate the site. Some have ill intentions. Others have no clue who we are.

I've always kind of felt we should leave it up to the series to advertise the idea. That's what brought some of us here in the first place.

I wish to be a part of this. So count me in.

Spreading around posters and whatnot with / without the dollars name saying "the world is not as bad as you think" is simply a mockery for people who are really feeling down (personal experience). The message only gets across happy people (who don't even need help with anything), and I'm pretty sure some will stick the papers in places that are off limits.
At best, it's just gonna make extra cleaning work for other people. How's that doing good?

Every single time a member suggest someway to make the dollars public, (be it a color, a logo, a handsign, a secret phrase, or posters) it sparks controversy and makes it obvious that we all have very different ideas of the group.

The one thing I cannot stress enough is that we need to ask ourselves if the series covered these topics already.

I just ran into a bit of a problem... Gmail thinks it's spam if I send an email to a large amount of people, and thus blocks it. The other option is to send it in small groups, but that would take days with all of you. I could do a group, but I have no idea how. It's fascinating to see the different opinions play out, especially having recently re-watched the series.

I would like to second what Neko said. Not that I'm against the idea of some people trying to gain positive exposure for the Dollars, but is this really that positive? I don't really think so.

I think it's best if Dollars rally together to help those in their own communities. They can connect using the Countries or Missions pages and find out what their communities need.

For example, a church in my town held a benefit concert to fund the salary of a social worker who provides services to the most under-served people in our community. They found out about a need in our community and did something within their ability to solve it. It was thoughtful and effective. I think something like this would have a much more positive impact than plastering cryptic notes or posters.

I have worries about this. If we do gain attention that does sort of defeat the purpose of being the dollars.

In a way though, it doesn't change much and actually makes it more realistic. Like the people will know we exist but they don't know if it's real and who is in it.

The thing about that is people might abuse the name dollars, and we could be in serious trouble.
