Hello hello fellow member of Dollars!! As it says in the title I'll be talking about Dollars of course. But what I'm really wondering is our future~!!!

So this website has been around since 2010 and has survived to make it up to 2015 also, to this present day. You've all probably thought about this but never cared to wonder: "What will be the Dollars future?" Everything doesn't last forever and you all know that. What I'm trying to comprehend here is for you all to tell me your honest opinions~! Will Dollars be well known? Will we stay as we are right now, or will Dollars not have a future?

Oshiete yo, oshiete yo, what you all think about Dollars in the later years okey! I got this idea of wonder from a thread of someone leaving Dollars to focus on their future which leads to me to one more question: As you grow older, which you eventually will, are you willing to quit or even forget Dollars to focus on your future or will your future lay in Dollars' hands? So please comment your honest bootiful opinions~!!! Please no mean comments okey

I don't think the Dollars will last very long. Our website got big with the Anime, and now that DRRR x2!! came around, we're seeing a few new members.

As soon as that blows over, this small wave of popularity will go away and soon nobody but regular users will be posting here again.

That's how I've seen many other boards and fan sites die out. Unless of course, we do something to make us stand out somehow...

But even then, that will only bring another short-lived wave of popularity until it too dies out. We'll have to always keep evolving in order to stay alive. But that's just my opinion. To be honest, I'd rather that we don't get too big so that children don't join the Dollars.

Well, I will try to stick around as much as I can. I really like it here and I have had lots of fun this past year as a Dollar so I don't think I will forget easily about it.
However, it's not as if I can't live without the Dollars but it would be a shame (and I'd be pretty sad) if the site disappeared or something like that.
Regarding the Dollars future... Well I am not so sure but I guess it's expanding, perhaps being more active... My imagination is a bit dead after so much procrastination.

Well, tbh I think this is a really awesome website, with people from all over the world. I see The Dollars is trying to make a difference in this world and I really do appreciate and willing to join in. At least I join the missions, which is really fun. But unfortunately, The Dollars isn't big enough, I really hope that it can spread to more places, and let everyone know about this wonderful Colourless Gang.
I will stick around and witness the change that The Dollars can bring to our society. And I met some really awesome frds here too! So I really look forward to the future of The Dollars and hope that, we, Dollars members can stick tgt and make The Dollars a never ending legend.

I really like this site! I'm gonna try to stick with it as long as I can! As for the future, I think that new members will eventually decrease, but we'll probably still be here.

I like the Dollar a lot and I find it incredibly awesome how we actually can make a difference with the missions. I think that this group will continue to grow. Look at what the Dollars have achieved so far. We have so many members all over the world. Though I do think that a major problem that might turn new members away is that a lot of people think this is just a fansite for Durarara and that we are all just sad despite the fact that the website says that it is not just a fansite.

I know that I just joined and all, but I do want to stay active and see what we can achieve. Even if it's just small community things where we each live, it does make a difference!

And I don't think that we should make it so that it actually has a base in the real world, because we should be unknown and clueless about all the current members in the dollars group.. Huh... Trying not to be known will make this kind of pointless. Since dollars doesn`t contain any real rules, making it a little bit more known in social media (youtube videos or stuff like this with missions) would save web from R.I.P. But as it was already said community with new members would bring some bad, dumb and non kind hearted people along. So it`s like you want to stay alive, but don`t want it keep in open world. So that`s why this community shall not grow. Eventually will die. Unless members that are already here will all stay along and do good things without wanting any attention. The future of us. Interesting topic. As Dollars we often say simply what society wants to hear, but in this case it is all about us. It really depend what us Dollars actually want for our future together. What we have been up to now has been pretty subtle.
If we want to last forever, well that's easy. If we want to be noticed AND stay as anonymous as we can, then we need to work together. We have the emails and even some groups on social media, but we need to communicate more often. Yes, this is hard to do since there are so many of us and we are all around the world this can be hard. But it all depends on what we want.
So here is the question e have to ask ourselves and each other:

Do the Dollars want to exist?

It is a very simple question, but is the answer as easy? Do you want to stay together as a group and continue making lives better in the shadows. Or do we want to dissolve our community and split apart slowly?
I have my answer, but do you have yours?

Life is busy and maybe even more once you get older but I hope I can stick around even like ten years... I don't know but also taking into account how will everyone feel with people older than like 29 around. We will see then. NO one knows what the future holds unless you plan it all right?

the Dollars will blow up (like recently) when more Durarara promo comes out, like the next part of X2

but then it will die down and go back to the random newbie every now and then with mostly regulars posting

As for will i leave the Dollars when i grow up/graduate/wutever? no i will not, if i wanted to quit the Dollars i would have a long time ago back when people ignored me, or disrespected me for no reason (other than they wanted to be an internet thug) i have stayed this long so i think i will stay until i die...

of course my future does not "lay in the Dollars' hands" as you say, the Dollars will always be an afterthought more like second nature instead of first, but i will always complete as many missions as i can and hold my internet family in high regards...

As for your question: "Do Dollars want to exist?"
The answer to that question is quite simple in my opinion for the answer lays in the one and only, members of Dollars! If there are some group of people or maybe even just one person in Dollars who don't want us to exist, then so be it. They can just Dollars cause they don't have the right to try to take down this site and they know that. It's up to the very founder/admin of Dollars to decide that~!

Anyways my answer is that I don't really mind if Dollars exists or doesn't tbh. As long as whichever member is happy the way things are. If they're not happy about how things are then I want to try my best, and I think that everyone else should too, making Dollars a place where people from all over the world gather to this very site, discuss countless interesting events, help others from missions, are glad with every accomplishments they've made, and are happy the way things are

I think Dollars need to be known a bit more and should be one of the top things in society. also i will deffo stick with Dollars till the end no matter what.

See, I don't usually come to Dollars very often, about every other month or so. But I do fervidly follow Durarara! and sometimes go on drrr chat. I will always remember that Dollars exist and I'm expecting to convert some commoners to fellow otakus and show them this awesome site...

I feel the Dollars will be able to do more as time goes on and as members get older they may be able to do more. If we keep spreading the word the Dollars can definitely be here for a while.

I do think that Dollars will live on but only we keep spread the word. that's only thing we can do, if we grow up we may forget about Dollars. In the other hand, we can do more thing when we get older and keep Dollars alive :D

Personally, I do believe that the Dollars will last as long as their is continual interest in the anime/manga/light novel, or if people keep doing their fair share of spreading the word and completing some of the proposed missions.

I think we should turn this group into somewhat like the anime. Not just because I like the anime, but also because I would think it'd be pretty cool to have an active Dollars group nearby. As the group began to expand exponentially, all of the original founders were frightened of it and deserted the project, except for Mikado. As the gang became more popular, people began using their name in order to commit crimes and do wrong. Despite this, Mikado suggested that members started doing good deeds around the city. While he was mocked at first, the idea resonated with a few others and more and more Dollars began to fix whatever the other members did. This is a brief history of the actual dollars, notice the invitation thing, we should attempt to make this a legit group.

If you are French, you must know this Dollars cant be very popular in every country with this way. All of the countries must try to gain more members. But theres one more thing, if you start to invite people with your own nickname or something stating you that means you will be leader of the Dollars in that country. For me to expanding this group without any organization it's like trying to fight an army discarding any kind of strategy and only using brute force or strenght in numbers, I know that Dollars in the anime/LN is about strenght in numbers and that each one chooses what to do, but we don't have as much members soooo

I belief the Dollars will remain for a long time because this isn’t just a Fansite where people go as soon as they find a more interesting Anime but a worldwide community out of people who also want to help making this world a better Place. I think as long as People have that desire and we keep doing little missions with our logo, tell Friends, Relatives and others about the Dollars they won’t be forgotten even if we disappear one day because even if we don’t accomplish much we’ve helped a view people or just made them smile for a second. Even little things like that can make a difference. I think at least the people we’ve helped might remember us and that there are good people out there. That is good enough for me. I doubt that people who’ve been on this site for quite some time will just forget about it either. Like Kage said: Once a dollar, always a dollar.

2)Drr chat login requires a username(alias). Not much can be done about trying to keep your own alias. However if an app is made where usernames are stored on the server and on the device of the dollars member, the dollars members could have their own personal aliases without duplication. Remember how Mikado is always Tanaka Taro, Celty is always Setton, etc. (except we should only know other members by there aliases, unless dollars members meet irl at the discretion of themselves.

Dollars will be around as long as there's websites dedicated for them, and possibly even when there isn't. The rule of Dollars is that there is no rules, and complete freedom.

I'm hoping that our message stays the same and that we don't resort to fights or violence or other questionable means to get our point across. Peace, kindness, forgiveness, and compassion are the most powerful agents of change. Other methods may push people away, but peace brings new friends. Well I think the dollars won't ever be known beyond anime, manga and LN fans. I don't even see how you can enter or even find this without being into durarara.But I do think it will expend if we share it with other fans!
Well as for my own future with dollars... well for sure I'll never forget them Xb but I don't think I'll be as active as today... well who knows!

It's like >SpookyCece said, the Dollars is an anime thing, but it can become a proper thing if we work hard enough. The anime gave us lots of examples, e.g. Working to better society, recruiting members through email and stuff. Idk what's going to happen to the Dollars, but god I love it!

Well, I think, that even if this side won't last forever, as long as just one of us thinks about them, the dollars will live. We dont know what the future holds, but we should enjoy the time we have on this side! I dont really like to think about the future, so lets enjoy how it is at the moment.

I think that i will stay with the dollars for a long time. Even if more & more people leave. You're right. Nothing lasts forever. But sometimes they do. Like marriage for example. Sometimes a marriage can last years & years. All the way up until one dies even! So I think that if some of us leave we won't die off. We have our next generation to look forward to. And if we keep up what we're doing now & more then we could become really popular on a international level! And if so more and more people will join making us more popular. It never stops! It's a cycle that nobody can stop. I don't want to leave The Dollars. That might change, who knows? But right now I want to stay and help people.

I hope the Dollars won't die out soon, and I will remain a member as long as I can, even if I am not always posting on the forums, I am sometimes there. As they all say: nothing lasts forever; all good things come to an end; etc... But hopefully we will last for quite some time!

I plan on being here for years to come. It would be interesting if a real life Dollars gang was made. But with all of the people here I don't think that this community will become abandoned anytime soon. There are new members constantly and the Dollars sound like they are becoming more popular. It would be nice for the Dollars to be well known.

Personally, I think that the Dollars are how they should be. Plus, as people move on to other things, I'm sure that they'll leave. I found this website on a whim, and here I am. I'm enjoying this! I hope that this continues for as long as possible.

I joined there Dollars a year now, and I think this group can last long. There is a good understanding between the member and is very active ^^ While I admit that I've never done missions, being given that I live in France and there is no member of dollars in my sectorTwT

I think that this group is quite something. Personally, I'd like to be a little more public by increasing activity in our locations, but that's just my opinion. I figure things will be more interesting that way. ;3

I have been talking to all of my friends at school to see if they would like to join, but they don't seem to happy or sure. At least i know i tried with them maybe i can get others to join.

I think that this group is really important, not only because people here know Drrr but we help a lot of causes. We are trying to make the world better and this motivation make me think that will be a future.

This is a tough one to wrap everyone's heads around. We want to be known, but unknown. We want to stand out, but not stand out. We want more, but we have already decided to stay unknown. We exist because we are all here and that should be real enough. I think it would be best for us to slowly grow, because too much growth too quick will rip the place apart. I would be interested in seeking out more members to join in my local area and try to do something to help out. We just want to exist as the Dollars.

Nah. I don't think the Dollars will be well known in the future, not globally and not nationally. Though, nothing is impossible so my mind is open to such things.
I don't really stay socially active on the Dollars, but I absolutely love checking the Missions Board twice a week. Gives me some nice ideas (Probably where I'll be in a few years time too).
I'd try not to forget about the Dollars. I love the concept of it, and being part of it makes me feel good about strangers in the world helping strangers around the world.

Ok, so I think, if we do enough good, we might be slightly known, but nothing big or global. We can keep doing our small deeds and do what we can to help around town, work, or school.
As for my future and the dollars? I'm not completely sure what I should say. I mean, I hope to God that I can keep this group a part of my life. But... I'm not sure where my future lays. My main focus has been on architecture... but I have no clue if that's what my future will definitely be.

I'm hoping for continued prosperity of the dollars, ever since I joined I've been amazed by the growing community of this fan site. I think we can do this in only one way, getting our name known via good deeds. Just say that you're are doing something on behalf of this site, I've been doing it for a while now and I've brought in a few new members. I hope that I'm not being too idealistic but i think it's possible.

Personally, I think the Dollars can and will live forever. Someone will always be curious as to what the Dollars are/were. Even if the site dies, we as people can pass our ideals along as Dollar members. The site may disappear, but relationships we made with other Dollars won't. So really, the dollars will not die. We just won't have a very clear meeting site. I want this site to stay alive and I want to continue being a member. I find very useful information on this site. I also love the missions board and how people want to change into better beings...even if my job does not seem very...pro-human-change-for-good. But that is an entire different matter. Simply put, the Dollars will live on. Whether through stories, words, mouth, books, shows, this site or our actions.

I think it isn´t important to think about the future of us. We are a loose group, without real organisation. In fact anyone can join or leave at will. We can spread the word in our surroundings with our actions. We can tell people who we deem honourable enough to join of this site. Eventually we will grow stronger, or our members subside. Well...I think I'd like The Dollars to stay as it is!~ It's already good enough^^

I feel like the website is still incomplete. Like it can be something that's life changing for many people, but it's just not quite there yet

There are things this website lacks that I've seen other dollars websites incorporate.

Before all else, we need to get our name out there. Make videos, advertise, recruit! Nothing with change if WE DON'T CHANGE IT! YOU are the dollars, each and every member is the dollars. You're the leader, the follower, and the soldier! If we all act like this, we WILL gain traction.

Actually I come from a group that doesn't want to go public. As of right now we have a estimated 30,000 members. I've been a member for nearly 7 years and this would just be a repeat of what happened before. If you want to recruit, I suggest selective recruitment. Mass recruitment results with trolls among other things. Please learn from our past mistakes.

Do you mean another Dollars group? Or a different entity all together?

I mean that I come from a faction within the dollars that agree that think on that subject.

i think the DOLLARS will last for a while. Who knows? Maybe even our kids could be a member someday! :) keep your hopes up when it comes to things you like. You never know what could happen.

Newcomer here, even of this web dissappearsm as long as the Dollars are remembered they will live on!

I'll be in the Dollars forever and go for my dream at the same time. This year has been a crazy one but thankfully I got through the different challenges so far. The Dollars have helped me believe that there are good people in this world

Well, I don't really think that we are going to be well known, unless we do something big, but that propably won't happen, we will talk about doing bigger stuff and all, but in the end we won't be able to achieve something (at least not as big as in durarara) since we're literally all over the place, so we will talk and do our smaller missions, but that's fine, since even the smallest things can have a huge impact and make a difference, maybe not for the world, a country, but it will at least for one person.
Though it sure would be nice to be bigger

For memory sake, I've started watching Durarara again & remembered that I made this thread so I've been looking for it for long minutes & at last, I've finally found it. Despite wanting to stay on this website, I've honestly forgot it existed. Surprised it's been bumped 3 years since it was made, low key flattered lmao. Anyways, thanks for those who tried to keep this discussion alive. Pertaining to what I actually talked about in this post, it seems that Dollars does have a future & that future will be that it'll be the way it was years ago.
