This place is slow-moving! How can we increase site involvement? I was thinking we could hold some contests or something. Maybe an art or fanfic or poetry contest? Or maybe a contest for a symbol for the Dollars...?

Hmm, i wouldn't mind a contest to be held in this place amoung the community, but you all will have to participate in planning it and playing in it. It will also have to be a good contest, not a poorly managed one.

Why don't we do a fanfic contest about animes like Durarara. I think it would be fun. Someone could do it using new thread and people would just post under it.

It's a great idea, don't get me wrong, I just think there's too many variables and wildcards for it to work as intended.

Perhaps we could do the contest AND make progress by completing missions and then have a picture of us doing/completing the mission. Whoever does the most (complete with proof, not just claims) wins a Dollars hat, wallet, and iron-on patch, all of which are available on Amazon. What do you guys think? We'd need three or four people to keep up with names and tallies, but I doubt it'd be that hard to find a Dollar willing to do that bit

in terms of activities/contests, we'd have to have some sort of judging system, officials who can provide an unbiased opinion. how will we find such people?

Well I love it. But... Contests will need rewards. The only kind of reward I can think of is either shipping something to the winner or taking an art request from the winner.

Maybe something like drr creativity contest?
It coud be allrounder(from writing to painting).
Winner woud be the one who gets most votes.
It coud be refreshed from time to time(like every week or month).

Question: Can we have different themes? I just skimmed over everything, and apparently a lot of people want the prize or the contest to be DRRR!! Themed. Could we do that for one maybe ONE of the contests, and then something different? Preferably, I wouldn't want to center it on an anime. Like, shouldn't these themes be an abstract topic so that your creativity can flow towards whatever's your preference?

Participants should give money for entering to contest (like 5cents). It can be "vs" contest - which one is better. I mean 2 random contest entries. Anyone will have fair chances and have at least couple of votes.

Some app to make this easier would be applicable.

Of course voting would be free. However first contests should be free too and with no paid rewards. First popularity must increase.

Alright, how no money involve? Unless it is the prize, but the prizes should be something we all can attain and something we can offer. The contest maker will be the ones to decide that.
We will just start the general guidelines.
And the judges will be those whom the contest maker will choose, and tge judges must have a long standing of judging crictally and fair.
Thus i shall be one, am known from my line of work to be somewhat of an sharpeye, tho i really dont know what the hell they're talking about.

Depends if this contest that this person won is something really grand or intense. then i guess there could be a "shoutout to 'person name' " thread.

Then we will do all free. I think the prize can only be for one winner. My idea is something like hall of fame - the victorius competition entries from all contests will be saved there.

This hall of fame thing... I don't see how it's possible. The threats with shout outs to the winner would just get bumped down later. And creating a hall of fame thread would just create a list of random usernames. And good luck getting the mods to create a tab on the top of the page for a Hall of Fame.

I think the on,y acknowledgement needed is that when you create the next contest, list winners of the last ones.

Alright, i have made a list of guidelines for contests, edit or add on to as you wish, as long we all can agree on it.

Contests' Guidelines

- All contests must be clean and fair
- Anyone can make contests
- Anyone can enter the contests
- Only 3 - 5 contests may be opened
- Those who make a contest can add rules of there own, as long as it doesn't defy the contests' guidelines (So please consult with us here)
- Contest can be done with judges, voting, or both, or other options

- Judges must be unbiased, critical and have a tripcode and name that Dollars members know and trust.
- Voters must also have a tripcode, in order to have their vote counted and you can only vote once a season (You can tell if it is the same voter by looking at their ID:)
- Voting can be done by other voting websites, like strawpoll or by contest maker's email or whatever option.

- Contest must be something everyone can do, or can be finish by the contestants
- A contest's theme must be new and an old theme can return once every 10 contests or return once a month or week
- Contest's theme can be art, writing, making, etc.

- in order for a contest to be valid, 5 or so contestants must be in it and actively particpate, or elsse it will be permasaged within a month
- Reward is something we all can agree on (whatever it may be) and that the winner will receive it

Now that's done, now for various Contest maker rules (if we agree to let people do that. Tho i think just letting well known/Senior Dollars make the contest would be better)

The rules can be
- Mutible winners or one
- Certain amount of votes
- VS rounds
- Handicaps

yyy That is why i sad about RANDOM 2 pistures - calculate that:
if there are 60 competitioners and you get 2 picture what chances you have to have twice this same picture?

And there a trick to it, the ID renew once every season the person come in here, so they can only vote so many times. Even if they have 3 computers or so.

Ok, thanks to Levvd (a no life fagget) I have figure out that the ID can change once an hour, maybe or the fuck is just using different devices, but at least voting can be handle here on the site at least by just commenting.

I like the idea of judges, but honestly I don't think we could trust each other to judge fairly. That's why a popularity poll might be better.
In addition, I would be willing to contribute a small prize from RightStuf or Amazon. I can only really afford to ship it within the contiguous United States, however.
