Who wants to make a difference? (16)

1 Name: Aries - アリエス : 2015-03-02 01:48 ID:wDMu3cxj [Del]

OKAY!! I see so many "I want to do something irl" and "we could make a difference"s. I wanted to make this post so anyone who took this group seriously could discuss the possibilities. We CAN make a difference if we just take this seriously and put some effort into this! Let's make the world know the Dollars!

I agree! As long as we figure out what we should do, where we should do it and when... Anyway, whatever we do decide, I'm in.

Hmm we could start by maybe changing the dollars site password once in a while. It's readily available on google

[AUTISM INTENSIFIES]

Well I doubt that would work. People who are already in here wouldn't know the password change considering you dont use an account to sign in. AND I personally am doing some charity work

Maybe the admin(s) could look into logging in for this? That way they can block som email adresses. But the password would be difficult. I dont really know how this can work...

>>4 This...

>>1 Guys... I'm afraid that's the entire point of the missions board.

You will find that it's not because no body has had the same idea as >>1. No, COUNTLESS people have.

The problem actually is the community itself. We're lazy. You'll see in legit mission threads about venturing out in the world and making a difference that barely anyone comments in them I comparison to the "We should write messages that say We Are The Dollars!" or "Lets post pictures of ourselves holding signs that say everything's going to be okay!"

I think what >>7 is trying to say, is that basically anyone who is on this website is someone who generally sits around all day doing nothing but being an Otaku or something, in other words, lazy.

Although I know there are many people on this website that aren't like that, I'd wager to say that the majority are, because, you know, Durarara is an Anime. Most of the people who watch Anime tend to be lazy. I don't think I need to spell it out for you anymore, I think I've made it clear enough.

The thing about the Dollars is that you can be whoever you want to be, and that's okay. If you want to organize something, go for it. But don't look down on your fellow Dollars because everyone didn't jump up and change the world in a day. That's not who we are.

>>10 Is it looking down on Dollars because it's the damn truth? Nobody is talking about saving the world in a day. There are legit missions that make a difference that have been around for years, and we haven't gotten to a significant point with any of them. Also, /sage if you want to reply. You guys know damn well that this doesn't go here. I agree, if you want to organize something, by all means, go for it!
IN THE MISSIONS BOARD.
Every week on Main, in Missions, in Suggestions, there's always someone who says "hey! Let's be more than just an online social community and make a difference!" Thing is, each and every one of those threads disappear on their own.
Because there's just not enough fucks given.
It's the truth.
I think our main issue is that people keep comparing us to the group in the anime. You gotta figure...it's way easier to unite for a cause when it's all on one small island nation. Since this runs in English, and English is the main language or one of the dual languages of several countries, we're bound to be more spread out.
I seriously think that since this was designed to be a place for chatting, you need to create your own site if you want it to be mainly about business and bettering the world. No matter how many people come here with the same message as OP and >>10, at the CORE...this is a site for socializing. That's it. Constantly saying it's something more is now starting to come off as harassment in my opinion.

Theres the saying, "planning is much easier than acting the plan out", and so, when i see people like this OP saying, "Lets go do great things!" Alright, whats our plan? You need more than words, more than a plan, you need action.

mag is entirely correct, and i have been saying this to all the people who ask these kinds of questions on the drrr chat.

people who have a goal or want to achieve something wont do it on this kind of sit, they would probably make their own site or local group or simply work solo.

if you really want to do something, then go do it yourself, achieve something, then come back here and show it, then maybe that will inspire some people.

If anything, here's a great idea. Either we get more people to watch Durarara and join the Dollars.... or we just share the website with people, and get them to share it with more people. It's a stretch, but if it turns out good, we could get more people on the website who will actually do things (>>10 I'm not looking down on anyone, okay?). So a great idea is to get more people on this website and then post these kind of posts. Then we might get some results.
