Do you believe there is a god out there? (160)

1 Name: Pyro : 2014-10-03 12:15 ID:c7kSzBwL [Del]

This is to all the Dollars all over the world, do you believe that there is a god up there, or do you believe more in other things than a force that probably doesn't exist?

2 Name: anonymous : 2014-10-03 13:23 ID:5/ju9vSy [Del]

3 Name: Onixaquarius : 2014-10-03 13:23 ID:4TBMZpaI [Del]

4 Name: Tamikuz : 2014-10-03 13:31 ID:1snVgftv [Del]

7 Name: Kurousagi : 2014-10-03 14:53 ID:B7+J/cvZ [Del]

I don't believe in anything superior because they/he/she never prove me they/he/she exist. So why should I believe in them/him/her? I don't even believe in karma, bad things and good things happen to good and bad people, I don't see a big difference.

8 Name: romana : 2014-10-03 15:13 ID:Qy36AIFv [Del]

I believe in a God being out there. I kind of reached a conclusion to that.

9 Name: Aggie-tan : 2014-10-03 16:16 ID:xusYv8Bm [Del]

Since I'm agnostic, I myself do not believe in a "perfect holy being". But there is never really an impossibolity in this kind of thing. This what I like to ask myself:
"We know that a mass, smaller than the point on a pencil, is what created the universe. But what created that mass?"
"We know that tiny single celled organisms is what started life, but what created those single celled organisms?"
"But in the end, where did God come from?"
Humanity always was a curious creature always hungry for proof and knowledge.

10 Name: Latin : 2014-10-03 17:08 ID:Tf3R3slb [Del]

It's hard. I was raised catholic, and i always hated going to church and to church school, but now I kinda believe that there is only good and evil, with not much balance. If god was as great as people say he was, then why would he let people suffer all the time. Like I said good evil, not much balance at all.

11 Name: Izaya27Sawada : 2014-10-03 17:13 ID:THai5gl0 [Del]

Why is this on the Main Board?

12 Name: Broker : 2014-10-03 17:42 ID:OwRnzjCb [Del]

I, myself, am religious. However i believe that god created good and evil as a test for us. All those who fall into sin like murderers or terrorist have failed their test and will face eternal punishment. Yet those of us who stay true shall receive enlightenment and granted ever-lasting tranquility.

13 Name: Mako : 2014-10-03 17:46 ID:xSOy4WYu [Del]

I personally do not believe in a god but I have have a few presumption about the afterlife. One, your consciousness is basically you. Let's say you die and then all the memories of your life are wiped out. Your conscience has restarted their memory as a new human, animal, or any other existence. You still get the feeling that you are you, except, you are in a different body with different memories.

14 Name: Lovely !YLCyt3kDBA : 2014-10-03 20:06 ID:2agnZEKx [Del]

I recently did a project on Marxism and his thoughts on this are that history has been able to develop not through a supernatural force but through productive forces, such as industry and science.
My father is an atheist and he says that everything is science.
I myself am Catholic and I do believe in God. There are just so many times that I pray to him and I know that he has answered my prayers. Sometimes random acts of goodness that happen to you for no apparent reason, well no science can prove that. That's why I think that there has to be a God. There can't be anything else. It's not the feeling that I need to believe in something, it's the feeling that I know there is something out there and I choose to believe in it.

15 Name: onezx : 2014-10-03 20:27 ID:Zws02D9r [Del]

Right now at my age I learned that it's important to have faith in something, anything and whatever you put with in, you will stress less and become more optimistic.
When I was younger I used to have doubts in Gods and if there was any. Now that I'm in college, my mother gave me a cross to remember her (since I'm so far away)and as soon as I put the necklace on I felt like God was going to protect me no matter what. But that's my story╮(╯▽╰)╭

IN THIS WORLD THERE IS NO GOD....

19 Name: Kotoza : 2014-10-03 23:17 ID:sW9Cn4fw [Del]

I believe in God, but I have given thought to the big bang theory before. I end up always hurting my head. It says that a bunch of stored up energy one day exploded and created the universe (Science nerds please don't start yelling at me if I say anything wrong. I have terrible memory and its late at night...)or something like that. I've tried to think about how that matter or energy was created from a scientific perspective. I can never think of a way. Energy can not be created. So where did it come from? How did it come to be? How does it exist. The only way I can ever explain it is that there is a God. But if I try to explain how God exists, then I'm stuck in the same place. There are a lot of things humans don't understand or can't explain, but believing in a greater force does give comfort.

20 Name: Senritu-chan!vRSraP3Mm2 : 2014-10-04 12:16 ID:Gl4BzwHs [Del]

No. Do you honestly think that I believe in an invisible guy, living in the sky. Who watches everything you do, every minute of every day. And he has a special list of 10 things he does NOT want you to do. If you do any of those 10 things, he has a special place filled with demons, and fire, and smoke where he leaves you to burn, and choke, and scream, and cry, and suffer forever and ever 'till the end of time!
...
But he loves you. <3

BULLSHIT!

22 Name: Venundreb : 2014-10-04 12:27 ID:/WHLVlin [Del]

I do not believe in god. Why would I?
The world is the way it is, that´s all. There is no god, no higher force that guides us. That´s just what some people want to believe.

23 Name: NoSence : 2014-10-04 12:36 ID:fOLLh8WM [Del]

God is just a figment of the human imagination. I'm sorry but if I'm meant to believe in some un earthly made up being, that's as good as me believing that I'll start shitting out endless money without any downsides!

Ain't gonna happen God, budda and alla

25 Name: Broker : 2014-10-04 14:21 ID:OwRnzjCb [Del]

It's not about credibility or evidence. Take the story of Noah and the ark from the bible, for example, It is impossible to fit that many animals in a boat, correct? If you think that then i do not blame you, but what if the story itself is trying to show us something? Those who still believe it, despite credibility, are those whom have stayed true to his teaching and those people shall reach enlightenment. God doesn't help everyone, true, but he did make us and we should at a bare minimum respect and believe in him.

26 Name: Babu : 2014-10-04 14:33 ID:4QNy4lz9 [Del]

Yea. I do believe in God!

27 Name: LORD MAQ : 2014-10-04 17:59 ID:n1ZQV+eF [Del]

Well I for one just don't want to believe in a GOD. It would mean that my fate is decided by him and I have no meaning in living this at all. I want to make myself useful to others. So, I convince myself by saying that there is no God, You'll have to do everything yourself. This is just self thinking though. I respect every other people out there who have there different ideas and beliefs about God.

28 Name: Kat : 2014-10-04 18:29 ID:3P8zodNj [Del]

29 Name: Seagull : 2014-10-04 19:23 ID:70IUn3yp [Del]

The existence (or non-existence) of a God is not something that anyone will ever be able to objectively prove or disprove. However, that doesn't mean that such a thing cannot be discussed and debated. Such discussions help the human race grow, after all.

30 Name: Red : 2014-10-04 21:09 ID:zHqgFHZZ [Del]

Beats me. If there is a god he isn't very good at his job.

45 Name: ns : 2014-10-05 17:14 ID:yZezm/0/ [Del]

My answer is yes, god has helped me get through a lot in life. Although for a while I contemplated the question,"if some one puts out the fiery gates of hell and burned the gates to heaven. would you believe in god if there was nothing after death?"

46 Name: A : 2014-10-05 18:24 ID:jUBCPPMH [Del]

Im not really if god does exist, I don't mean to disrespect your religion but that is what I think.

47 Name: Ri-Ri : 2014-10-05 18:39 ID:7oa+yRgd [Del]

I do believe. He only loves everyone equally and fairly. I believe because there's at least one being that will love me and that's enough for me to keep going. People commit suisice because not enough people love them. For me, I know that one being lives me for who I am. And that's what makes me happy. For many years,

48 Name: Hanako : 2014-10-05 18:57 ID:ZwIfBhF8 [Del]

No. Gods for me were beings created by ancient humans to explain the unexplainable, that is now used to justify the irrational.

49 Name: Sui !e46DaAkk9o!!VS9XuPhv : 2014-10-05 19:07 ID:EYFzrgrl [Del]

I believe there is a god. I believe that he is my savior and he died for all of his children. I don't disrespect those who of course don't believe though because everyone has a different vision or belief and that is perfectly fine. I know god will always be by my side and will always save me... but of course that's my perspective.

50 Name: Aoi : 2014-10-05 19:07 ID:JY+ky9bI [Del]

If there really is a god somewhere, he's so incrediblely unfair

51 Name: Somniare : 2014-10-05 19:40 ID:Xs1O2W9v [Del]

>>50 I agree.

I myself don't know if there is a god out there. I use to believe everything my parents told me, but just like fairytales, it's hard to believe something when all the stories are from your parents. My parents told me I was Catholic so I just went with it, but then I realized that I never did and still don't do anything that's expected from Catholics or religious people in general. I don't go to church, I don't pray, I don't ever really think about "God" unless someone brings it up. I believe in evolution, the big bang theory and all that jazz because based on actual evidence, it's believable. Whether people choose to believe it or not, we evolved, we weren't just magically made one day.

What I do hate though, is those people who aren't religious, and only go crying and praying to "God" when things are bad for them. It's like disrespecting your parents all the time but going straight to them when you need something.

But anyways, people say that "God" it's the almighty creator and that he loves humanity and ask this, but then why is the world so crappy? I can answer that, because people just do bad things. There isn't a Satan out there making us sin. People are bad, doesn't matter why, because there are so many different factors and reasons why. People are bad, people do bad things, people hurt, and cause destruction, that's just how it is. I believe world peace is just another fairytale told to make us feel better about humanity. I can see that I've gone off topic, but that's about it.

53 Name: Jemini : 2014-10-06 19:41 ID:FiRy9vS5 [Del]

Hi, I'm Jem. And personally -- no, I don't believe in a God. I used to, though. I was actually raised as a Roman Catholic, and I've been going to Catholic schools my whole life. However, in a Freshman year of high school -- this is around two years ago -- I accidentally realized that I didn't believe in God anymore. This happened when I overheard an Atheist and three Catholics (plus comments from the other students) arguing over the existence of a God. I, as usual, was sitting there observing the argument, and mentally adding my two cents, when I suddenly realized, that throughout the entire argument, I'd been siding with the Atheist and judging the Catholics' arguments to be invalid.

I considered myself an Atheist, until I discovered a word in a book that I felt better suited me: Agnostic. It is not that I necessarily believe that their is a God, nor that I believe that their isn't -- I simply think that it is impossible to prove either theory, and therefore impossible to assume.

Maybe there is a God, maybe their isn't -- I honestly don't know, and I won't be arrogant and claim I do. Though, if I had to give my personal opinion -- I don't really believe there is a God. It just makes no sense to me. How I see Catholicism now, is much the same as you probably see Greek and Norse mythology -- nothing more than stories, that you are amazed to find people actually honestly believe in.

Personally, I believe in Nihilism. I do not believe in a greater power. I do not believe in life having a meaning. I am Agnostic and I only believe what science can prove to me is real and true. I believe the Earth and everything on it was made by chance, but that dosent mean I don't find it absolutely astonishing that such complex creatures were created -- I find it absolutely amazing.

Sorry for the rant, I got too into it. ^^'

no one knows for sure, but to be safe you should follow a religion. for all we know, the scientific theory may be correct but then again the religious theory may also be correct. It's your choice

Yes, I am religious.

I am a polytheist, although foremost a Jew.

In some regards, I am an agnostic. I am also an existentialist, believing that value in life comes/increases later in life.

Ah, btw, I agree about the 'respect each other' things.

67 Name: Ruka : 2014-10-07 07:48 ID:UaqXkRoS [Del]

I don't really know if 'God' exists but...being a Roman Catholic and all, I guess I do. I believe that whether or not we believe in God or not, whether you are agnostic or I am Catholic, I don't think it would make a difference. The God up there...it's not yet discovered and I know that it would remain that way but I think that's just fine, I mean...not to offend people but sometimes, I am convinced that religion is something we all clung to just to FEEL that we have something to hope for. Take the afterlife for example or even hell. They say science and God don't mix but it's a nice thought if we realized it's FINE. This world that we move in, it's endless and 'God' is just one of the terminologies that we wholly believe to and since it's THERE, simply existing, the only thing we could do is to respect each other's ideologies because let's face it, even if there is a force out there controlling karma and darma and whatnot...WE EXIST. And that alone is a reason to stop thinking and try to live our lives to the fullest.

I think there probably is some kind of strange thing out there that is the reason for everything unexplainable. However, I feel as if that strange thing is explainable, and that once this strange thing has been explained it will make all the other unexplainable things explainable.

Sorry if that didn't make much sense.

73 Name: Shinshika : 2015-02-17 15:21 ID:Ayt/32Ty [Del]

I believe that everything is made out of universal energy, I could also call it God but that's not quite right.

74 Name: ラミエル : 2015-02-17 15:22 ID:zbIMoA2+ [Del]

I personally am an agnostic. There are some people I've met who say things to the effect of "Oh that's just another version of atheism" (and one person who said it was a "pussy version" of atheism), but that is very misled. Rather than completely rejecting the concept of god, the agnostic belief system is that no organized religion has a correct representation of it.

Now even calling this a "belief system" is a misrepresentation of being agnostic, as there is no unity in the group whatsoever. I for instance, technically wouldn't qualify under a strict definition of agnosticism, as I don't truly "believe" in God. I hope a God/Creation figure exists, but do not put any belief in that idea. I personally don't think it would even be possible for humans to comprehend the existence of God in nature, thus making it not only unable to be proven, but unable to be disproven, and I find it arrogant that anyone would assume either.

I can rant about this for hours (the troubles of minoring in Religious History/History of Relgion), but I think that's sufficient for explaining my personal point of view, and correcting anyone who might be mistaken(most people I know).

Best be a mind that accepts all things, and a mind that adapts to all things. Because idk, it seems fun in every aspect of science and supernatural, even if people need facts and see it with their own eyes, believing is sometimes knowing. (My grammer sucks, i know - too tired)

76 Name: TrustMe : 2015-02-20 19:37 ID:/lZJTM9x [Del]

>>74 It's true we can neither prove nor disprove the existence of God. But I choose to believe in God.

I have my reasons (scientific, historical, and anecdotal evidence) which I too could go into great length about. But I am curious, what makes you "not put any belief in [the idea of God]" as opposed to putting some belief in a God if the eternal consequences would be more likely in your favor(Pascal's Wager and all that)?

77 Name: SHie : 2015-02-21 10:44 ID:QC4zJd55 [Del]

I believe God exists however I do not think God how books/writing/scripture portray him to be. For me the descriptions of God's actions and reasons does not really show what God is really like instead it creates a distorted imagery of what we think God is like. I believe God create all things for a reason. Therefore I do not see why we make big deals about someone who is different from us. I respect each and every religion however I may not necessarily agree with ALL of their teachings.

This is my opinion.

78 Name: Se7eN : 2015-02-21 11:38 ID:C81rRL1d [Del]

I agree with SHie and i don't think people should spend all their time worshiping this God (like most religious wackos do)
just respect life and try to make the most of it.

I believe in God too as some people, Jehovah God, but to each his own, i believe it has to do with your relationship with God more so than with your religion though. Reading the bible is one way to learn, next is learning what it means. No direspects to anybody though, enjoy life.

i agree with tree i know there is a God and that it is more important to have a good relationship with God but i do think you should believe in the true God whether your Jewish or Catholic or Christian it matters about your relation ship although i that dose not mean im saying go do what ever and say you have a good relationship like i suggest not becoming a satanist and i suggest not messing with weege bords that stuff just messes you up

If there was a god, why isn't he looking out for those dying, where did he come from and why does he need people cherishing him if he's so powerful?
I don't know, I'm not convinced.

There is no god. Now don't get me wrong when I say this, because I do not want to trample upon other peoples beliefs. But religion was used as a tool to create order. Just looking at the past, it is obvious that people who are not scared of going to hell would do whatever they want, so heaven is a way to bind people into doing the moral human thing. As humans progress, with democracies and a bigger feeling of the world, humans fight against religion as it is an outdated thing, and we are nearing the point where we don't need religion to do the right thing, but instead feel passion for other humans not because of religion, race, or sexuality, but just for being a human too. There will always be bad people, but religion is a way to bind everyone together, until we rid ourselves of poverty and crime, religion is a tool that will still be used, but not as needed now as much as the past. I myself am a calm, cool-headed person, who does not need religion, but I still can recognize that it is useful. It's best to fight religions that hold us back, and not the ones that just want to be there. Religions that are immoral, and slow down the day when we can all be free, instead of religions that are more accepting of change, and just want people to still believe.

No, I do not believe there is a god out there, ever since I was a child I've liked myths,Greek, Egyptian, Norse, etc. That's all I can think of religion as, a myth, nothing more, nothing less.

I do believe there is a god however, I don't believe it is a being that interferes with anything us mere mortals do. Weather this is because it chooses not to or can't I honestly couldn't tell you. But, existence in itself is weird maybe what we consider god also has a god of its' own and that's why we never see interference. I guess I believe there is a god because I think that this one speck of existence we have being all there is is a terrible waste.

I don't believe in god. There's no proof he exists. In a world where there isn't even proof of the future, the past exists. Even if it's tainted with misunderstandings and delusions, if the people themselves believe in it, the past is the truth to them. And, if you base your actions or your life around it, in a way, it's a type of god itself.

>>88 God does care about the sick, the hungry, and the dying. One of the primary teachings of Jesus was to care for the poor. Now as to why an omnipotent God wouldn't end suffering entirely I believe is because he gives us free will. He gives us a choice to either follow him or disobey him, and, unfortunately, EVERYONE chooses the later at some point in their life--thus we live in a corrupt and dying world.

I think of God as what everything came from...but as to where God himself comes from...I don't know. I guess even if I did, it would beg the question of where THAT came from :D

God doesn't need NEED people to cherish him. But he would like us to. I don't think God created humans because he was lonely or even bored. It's in his very nature to love, and from that he decided to create us in his image.... though trying to truly understand the motives of God...might just be impossible :)

Disclaimer! The above is MY take on things! It all comes from biblical teaching, but if you don't believe the bible, I mean no offense!

I believe there is a God. Just like I believe in love, and emotions. I believe that there are a lot of things that science cannot explain. God, the theory of a higher being. Love, the theory that some emotions are more than just hormones and chemicals. And Music, that music has thr power to "spiritual" move people.
If I dont believe in one, I dont believe in the others. But I currently believe in all of them.

I'm an atheist and I do not believe in deity.
I do not want my life to be dictated by some unknown / non-existent higher power and I have my own guide for morality and human values that exist regardless of any faith.
That being said, I am also a secular humanist who respects people's rights to practice their respective religions as long as they do not infringe on my rights as a non believer or proselytize me on purpose.

I personally don't, or rather I don't want to. Because if God exists, he's doing a pathetic job of taking care of his creations. Better yet, he's one of the many reasons why humans fight each other, over their beliefs in religion.

123 Name: Stepper : 2015-03-03 08:02 ID:KUxFL3jJ [Del]

I believe there is a god. Well it's up to you to believe in god or not, but God will never lose his power even though humans didn't believe in him. I believe the life after death.

There's a lot of mysteries that must remain unknown, yet we should believe that it exists. Like when will we die.

Just an opinion, you should believe what you believe. I'm not going to tell you to change your mind.

If there is, meh. If there isnt, meh. I'm agbostic and my philosophical side ponders everything. Supposedly, if a black hole created the universe, what created the black hole? But if 'God' created the universe, where did he come from? But this world is strange and is always full of surprises that man races to discover before they breathe their last breath. In the end, I stay out of religion unless there is someone to slap sense into or if their is any civilized person to have a not heated discussion with (which is never)

125 Name: Anonymous : 2015-03-03 13:17 ID:cQ+ygpBh [Del]

its a choice, if there is one or if you are one. chances are both can become true

126 Name: Rize Kamishiro : 2015-03-03 14:49 ID:I2JbBQMt [Del]

It's a subject I don't really mind or think about.

Although the universe itself can be an argument of God's existence, because it's hard for humans accepting that a mere coincidence created universe and life (through Big Bang, Evolution of Species and such or whatever you choose to believe), History proves that this is being superficial, to the least.

Millions of people die and have died from hungry and thirst, or killed innocently... Why didn't God do anything to save them? Why didn't God save the jews when Nazi Germany was killing them, instead He let millions die? Why would He do this to us, His beloved creation (at least as humans suppose we are)?

If there is a God, He is not absolutely good: doing nothing to avoid tragedy is contributing to it. Therefore, the only God who is truly occupied by humans is Chaos. If there is a totally good God, He's not worried about us.

Here's what I believe...

"No matter which deity you pray to or don't pray to, Your prayers are all heard and not heard by one the same by the very same source and origin of All Nothing and Unity...Words cannot describe it.You can try but by doing so you barely describe .00000001% of what it truly is...That is why it lay's claim to no one group but all of them at the same time........Call it as you please...Jesus....Satan....Shiva....Isis....Amaterasu....Allah...Zeus..Source...Science..Any of them..........We all serve a single fate made of many through a predictable free will given to all life human or not. In this universe...No in all of the universes there is no such thing as coincidence...Only the inevitable....."---JMS

For me, I can't possibly say that I believe or do not believe in someone called God. I'm just living the way I am/want to, I help sometimes, be kind sometimes, be sinful, reflect on sins, because that's the way I usually do. But I do believe in something like a creator, since there is no creation of there is no creator.
