Can there be originality anymore?
to be original you must know to put your spin on popular media to make it your own, but since we are constantly being influenced by outside factors any sense of originality is therefore a product of our society and cannot be original because the Idea was formed by assimilating traits taken from popular works and not formed with our sterile imagination.
so fellow dollars I ask if there can be originality, if so in what situation or environment can it prosper.. Plus1worlock

yeah but it depends if the whole human race wants to copy the most inflenucial people then the answer is no because now a days the most inflenucials are the bad ones so no and yes. thats only my opinion

'Originality' is just the highest number of unknown influences.

Games for example don't want to be original. All we really want is just a better version of gta or an all time classic plat former like Mario...

I think originality may still be possible, though much more rare than we'd like. Maybe I'm wrong, but if you look in the right places, at the right times, you may be surprised.

Well lots of people find it hard to be original because so many idea development can come in fast. Literally I had times I knew what I want in life and haven't seen yet but eventually they develop it because people will eventually come up with the same idea. Sometimes its just hard to get to it bc it might need certain things to build it and you need ways to protect your claim bc people can use your idea for themselves. That's why to put ideas in the light can be difficult.

Well all ideas already exist but are just found I guess. So maybe it's more like making a soup where all the ingredients already exist but by having different combinations and balances of them you end up with something new. It seems weird to think something can come from nothing but I guess it might be possible, it's hard to say. I just quickly checked and saw this thread so I hope this hadn't been said or wasn't what you were after.

I think that something is always inspired by another thing that is why it is original in it's own way. :)

When you're looking at a chair. You are thinking of it and therefore the idea of a chair has popped in your head.

Go into nature...or outer space. (anything is possible)
Go into the ocean and ultimately within.
You will find yourself...your authenticity
and all that you desire.

Don't be afraid to leave sometimes leave behind logic.

Well I do see where your coming from and I have thought about it myself. Does it make me lucky to be working on a series I originally created because I only wanted something to be known for?
