This has been on my mind. Does money corrupt a person, or as the person always been corrupted but money just helped bring out said corruption

A human being is always corrupt, no matter what. I think that when money comes into the picture, however, it becomes more evident and brings out the greed even more.

Yes, money does corrupt. This quote would be pretty much easier to understand:

"People are the ones who should control money, not the other way around. (Money controls people.)"

It does... when I helped my lover I got an expensive phone in return but I didn't have a job or neither could denied the gift being pushed on me and now I'm in debt for $900. I don't want to regret my kindness but I do deeply and feel it was a cursed and now we got to get rid of it. I won't leave that person b/c I feel we can fix the problem together. It might sound like a stupid thing but people makes mistakes and will learn from them. I understand if the person wanted me to get an expensive gift that I done but we can always have to try remembering what a person don't have and what they gave away just for them to live.

All human beings have a tendency to be evil. Money or power is just something that gives it a medium. In the end its not about how evil you can be but how much you can contain the evil inside you.

Human have 2 sides, Light and Dark...well, maybe it's cliche, but it's true...

Money, in itself is without will.
Thus, through our choices determines the nature of coin and how it is used. That being said, the question in itself reflects upon the person and their use of it.
It would be more accurate to say that money amplifies the true nature of a person, good or evil. The more money you possess the greater the ripples you will generate, as opposed to one without.

I think money's ability to corrupt is because of our ideology of it. We value the worth of money over the worth of other people.
It's that, in society we tend to love money and use people to acquire more when we should be loving and caring for each other instead of our money.
But that's just my opinion.

I don't know and don't care; all I know is that I need more of it.

Pardon me for being so mentally inferior.

If you're looking for an answer: In my opinion its people who are the malleable ones. Money is only one thing, a representation of value, or worth. People internally change, bend, or flip all the time and so does that value. There are those who keep it, those who are generous enough to donate it, and some who sit and wait to pay off the bills.

People forget modern money is just a convenience, without it you'd still have to trade fifteen cows, and a cut of lamb monthly to by a car.

Personally I don't hate money; I'm a student, I will know what debt feels like in the near future. Its just something we all have to put up with. Right now I need more of it, to store it up like supplies in winter.

>>8 This guy sums it up nicely.

tl;dr: "Does money corrupt a person" no, people do unto others. "The person always been corrupted" is also silly, people change around all the time.

P.S: Is someone begging to pay their debt morally equal to or "corrupt" as a company begging for a government bale-out?
