It's been a long time, everyone. I see the "Information Brokering" thread is still up and being added to routinely, which is always a good thing.
I'm here because I have a project I have been working on since November. It's called the
WLIA Blog. In it are articles which essentially take sections of games, anime, novels, etc. and analyzes them, then applies elements of them to real-world society.
For example, articles pertaining to an anime may be divided by episode, while articles pertaining to a game may be divided by character. So far, articles have been written for Danganronpa, A Certain Scientific Railgun, Cowboy Bebop, Evangelion, FLCL, Ghost and the Shell, and of course, Durarara!!.
If you have free time, feel free to look through them. And while you're at it, you'll likely notice two boxes on the right of the screen. One lists contributors to the blog. The other is a blog message, and you'll notice it's asking for additional contributors. That's what I'm here for today.
I am looking for others who wish to contribute to the blog and expand it. I want to make this a Dollars Project, but not necessarily a mission (as a mission would hint at their being an implicit obligation). This is entirely voluntary.
Here's the deal: the comments sections of the blog aren't restricted. Anyone can post a comment (though I will remove anything I feel detrimental to the health of the blog, so be professional). If you want to contribute full-fledged articles, please email me at mkollersms@gmail.com so I can go over the requirements in detail with you.
Generally, there are only three rules of thumb:
1) Articles follow the Classical Model (Introduction, Background, Main Point/Confutation, Alternate Points/Refutations, and Conclusion.
2) Inclusion of at least one source link. This can be another article within the blog, or it can be an outside article pertaining to the subject (news, journals, other blogs). As long as the information is accurate, it can be used as a reference.
3) Inclusion of a picture (though it isn't necessary for all articles).
That's it! I hope this covers everything, and I look forward to seeing what the BBS does with this.
