Alright, my speech class has asked me to write a persuasive speech over a controversial topic and I chose Stem Cell research and I'm for it, and I would like to know what you guys think on the topic. Are you for it or against it, and you can explain why you are for it or against it. Thank you

ok people, i didnt ask for you guys to get mad at me for a report im doing at random, i dont know how i feel , my teacher asked if im for or against and i chose for because i dont know it , and also im asking so i can put in the report, so many people agree, so many people disagree, so many people dont know out of this many people ,and this was my homework jerks, its opinion not a lecture.......

I find stem cell reseach interesting, and though it may he dangerous if harvested incorrectly i think it should be continued. After all, it can be used for bone marrow transplant and possibly for therapy, which are good things so the research itself is probably a good thing to do.

You may want to check the tech board or news board. They may have more information and a variety of opinions. It may take some digging to find threads on it though. This isnt the place to post things like this though.

i'm pretty impartial to it.
i understand why some people say it's immoral; because it's essentially creating a life in a petri dish, then doing tests on it and taking that life away.

on the other hand, it is helping medical advancement, because it has the potential to cure many deadly ailments. some scientists think that it may even lead to limb replacement.

Overall, it's a pretty dark area and it's really up to one's own morals to determine whether they think it's worth enough to continue, despite killing a life in a petri dish.

@GrimmVA I think part of the reason you're getting flak for your post is because you put homework on the main. But I may be wrong. Anyway, from what I know about stem cell research, the main reason for the whole controversy thing is because of the source of the cells. Aside from that, google is your friend.
