Part 2 of the thread "Why did you join the Dollars?" since nobody did it. I kind of liked it, but decided it'd be cool if I added a little extra to it.

Part 1

This thread is easy. Tell us why you joined, and why you haven't left yet.

I'll start. I said while I joined the Dollars in Part 1, so I'll copy that.

"If someone asked me that then I'd give them a weird look then walk away. People don't know who I am and don't bother to try so I won't bother explaining myself to them. They would most likely think I'm a fan.

To tell you all why I'm here. I'm looking to change the world and you people are the best way to do that. I'm part of a group that isn't in the urbandictionary. We really aren't well known. It's the easiest way to find a large group of people that want the same things I do. I'm not a people person. To tell you all the truth I'm like Izaya except for one thing. I hate the human race and see no hope for them. That is where me and all of you come in. A bunch of people alone will get nothing done. A group TOGETHER can change the world. I want to change the world but I don't want people to be talking about me like they do anyone else that's well known. I also decided the day I found this site that I'm going to change the world by focusing on the Gay Rights movement."

Now, I'll tell you why I stayed. I eventually kind of drifted out of the Gay Rights Movement thing. Don't get me wrong, if I saw you picking on someone for being gay I'll still beat the shit out of you. It's just not an active part of my life as it gets more busy and stressful.

There have been many things that have been keeping me here. I've stayed for the RP, to do Missions, because I'm bored and have nothing better to do, because I like the people here, because the hate and love threads do more good for me than a therapy session while being free, and many other things.

Despite all of that, the main reason why I stay her is because I like it here. The people are nice and helpful as long as you don't fuck up. It's a good place to get ideas. I've learned a lot from being here and am still learning a lot. It's a nice place to go to for advice. It's a place where people are more open minded. You can be whoever you want to be with little fear of getting judged. The questions ask here cause you to think. There is pretty much somewhere for me to go in the site for every mood. I can speak freely. The only real reason I have to dislike this place is some of the fake-trolls. Even that's good for a nice laugh though. I actually do genuinely like it here.

I didn't join for any particular reason. I'm not trying to make the world a superhappyfun place. I just come here to chill. I stay because there are some cool people here and there are funny/interesting things to talk about.

the reason why I gownd the dollars is that I wanted to pertect people on the streets and help people that need help crossing the street .

I came because I was curious, I stayed because I like stories.

The reason I joined is because I was bored. The reason I stayed is because it was fun and I want to help change the world bit by bit.

At 1st I came because I googled 'the dollars' to see if there was a real one online (after I finished DRRR!! of course)
Then I continued to come because there are interesting people to converse with, exchange ideas for missions etc, and to help people in any way I possibly can; even if I am only ONE person. BUT combined, we all can make a change ^^ and together we can work together to help someone

Of course, Im a DRRR fan so I wanted to see if there was a real Dollars website. Well I just joined not long ago and Im planning to stay cause its a interesting site..no actual reason but theres lots of great stories and ideas. And interesting people. C: Also Its nice to see that so much people are trying to change the world. I really like it here.

I joined as a fan of DRRR!! thinking this was a fan site at first, but the more I looked around and read, I realized "These guys might actually be able to to something in the world with a some effort, and I'd like to be a part of that. Something bigger than myself, but I'm still able to really contribute!

I joined here because I'm a Drrr! Fan.
I stayed because like Leigha Moscove said, I hate human race, and I want to change it. But I don't like being known for what I did. This group is not actually popular except for the people who actually watched Drrr!. So it helps, -- for you or me to change the world, discreetly.

Addition to that, I really like it here, like everyone else. :)

Well I decided to search to see if the dollars were real then i found this website and i stayed because I wanted to be apart of something and i like to help too so thats my story.

I wanted to smile at myself while I log in to the Dollars site and pretend I was part of a gang :D

when i was watching drrr i had my computer with me and i went to Google and typed in the dollars and it was real that i was like "omg, this is so cool i'm so going to join this and do my best at this and i will keep it a secret" i joined that day and i was happy. i stayed in the group because to me even thou i don't know everyone that is in it but to me it feels like one big happy family and we can make a differences in this messed up world, WE CAN DO THIS I BELIEVE IN EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU ^.^

My friend ask me if you want to join the dollars then he give the website and the password ...when i saw this site i was amaze just like the anime i was watching ...by logging in this website sometimes my problems goes away...chatting new friends around the world it feels really awesome thats why i will never left the dollars...

Well, i kinda think that this website has a large meaning. But i don't know what is it..

The dollars are really like a group of people that are bored and want to have fun. I stayed because there is no threat not to. Like some dude walks up to me and goes "I know your in the dollars bitch" I wouldn't deny it but even if i got threatend i wouldnt do anything about it i would stay with the dollars

I feel like I can have an opinion here without being shut out.

No one expects anything of me here.

The reason I came here was actually just because a good friend of mine gave me the link. At first, I didn't really take an interest, expecting some fansite. Then one day I got bored and typed in the password, and voilà, I found a place which wasn't a fansite at all. So actually, the reason I joined was simply because I felt like trying something new, maybe meeting some new people.

The reason I stayed was because, to put it simply, I like this place. It's full of interesting, open-minded people with interesting opinions. I can be myself and speak my own mind with little fear of being judged, and even if I do get judged, who cares? In the end, this is just the internet. Also, I love that I can learn so much from this place, be it because someone posted an interesting topic, or because of something someone posted on said topic. Because of all the diverse people and opinions here, it helps me to look at things from different perspectives. I really like that.

So, yeah. That's about it, really.

The only reason I'm here because of my cousin that encouraged me to go here. At first, I ignored her request about a week until I gave in. So I tried the link saw the helpful things that the Dollars do. And wa-lah I'm still here.....

I started the anime series then the books... after I'm done I realized something like this is just what I need. No one wants anything from me and I can be like myself cause no one would judge.

Why I joined.
I thought it would be cool, and I wanted to be part of this so I decided to join.
Why I stayed.
I started reading all the posts and the "missions" and I was quite excited about everything. I read what the dollars do to help people and I started doing that too.

I stayed cuz i too wanted to become part of this but to also belong with people who accept me in other ways so in a matter of speakin THE DOLLARS ROCK

one friend of me told me about that so i entered to the website

I joined because I was bored, and this really sparked my curiosity. I join because i was curious and i've been thinking about à lot of things. I thought is this group real or a fake one? Then i realised it's not à fan site. I never thought they had a dollar site at all, a couple months after the new school year, I found a note on my desk, " The world isn't bad as you think it is. - The Dollars" The it said the site and the password on the back.. Well,after watching Durarara,I asked myself "What if there was a real site like that in the anime?" So,I started snooping around the net and found this site.The reason I wanted to join in because I was wondering what it would be like no be part of an invisible group,one that doesn't care about shouting out to the world who they are and asking for credit when they do something good.Personally,I think this is the best group ever!You can chose if you want to participate or not and you can start something,too!You can either have a friendly chat or do a mission.True,you don't get credit but what's the point of doing something if you do it only for fame?
And if I had to be honest,I also imagined us doing a sort of mission like when Mikado asked the Dollars to save Anri.That scene was awesome.
Though I might sound a little childish,that is my reason!

I'm not really fond of surfing the net, though I kind of love to just watch something that can really kill time. That was when I heard of Durarara. My colleagues told me that it is really worth my time. Fortunately, it really was. I don't really want to brag, but I am kind of an apple of the eye in our campus (I am not beautiful, okay?) though for me I am still a lost child wandering around . . . you know an outcast. Maybe the reason I joined this group is because of the things the cast wanted to attain (I wanted to do something extraordinary, I wanted to protect the people I love, I wanted to be stronger and independent, I wanted to be accepted, etc.)Maybe, the reason why I still don't leave this one is because of my personality of being loyal. For me, even though, (only if) many will just leave I'll still stay. ^_^

I stay because this group is much more than just the RL version of an anime group and I feel like I'm not only around good people but also doing some good.

I joined the group simply because I watched the anime as I'm sure most of us have, and I enjoyed the idea of the group. I stayed because I really enjoy the feeling of knowing people are doing their part in communities around the world.

Well my friend is a fan of DRRR! and she told me to watch it a few months ago telling me it was cool... I never really found the time to at first, but bit by bit I am. Its an interesting show to say the least. I remember her telling me about this dollars website in the anime and that it would be so cool if there were a real one. So out of plain curiosity, as maybe much of us, searched if there truly was such a site.
I was shocked to see that it was true, so I figured": hey why not join? I heard this site helps one another like a family.
I'm not much helpful when it comes to the academics *coughMATHnSCIENCEcough* but I hope I could be of help with others?? hehe ^^"

Someone I was talking to named Kanra told me that I should join the dollars so I did. I'm really happy to be here and I will help out in anyway I can.

My friend told me all about this site and we are both DRRR fans. Naturally, I loved this site and the whole Dollars concept just drew me in. This is only part of the reason I'm staying here. The other part is that there is something about belonging in a colorless group/organization (not gang like in DRRR) just fascinates me. I don't know why. Maybe it's because we don't have a leader and this is all about teamwork and cooperation. If somebody asks me to help then I'll make sure I do the best that I can. Like most here, I want to change the world too.

I joined mainly because I love Durarara. The reason(s) why I stayed is because this is a nice site where I can come and chat and my friend come by here frequently. I've actually made a few friends here I talk to on a regular basis. So, that's my reasons for staying.

I joined because, like others here, I thought it may be a fansite, so I was curious. Once I entered the password and took a look around, I discovered that I was quite wrong, and instead saw it as another community and BBS like any other.

Having only been here for a short amount of time, there are things that I'm still learning here, but I appreciate the insight that each and every person here contributes, and the discussions are nice.

Honestly joined The Dollars because of Durarara. I was watching it one day and thought to myself, "Hey i wonder if they made a dollars website in real life" and sure enough it was here. Now that im a part of the dollars it just feels good to know that im a part of something so big. That there are so many other people out there that are kinda like me. Some of them are lazy and like to just hang out, and others want to make a difference in the world. It makes me feel important and that i have the ability to help make the world a better place.

Why i joined? Because the Dollars are something really special.
It gives you what you need,not what you want.
You can be a part of hit,no matter how big that part it,you are a part of it and you can't change it.

I joined beacouse of DRRR(personally my favourite anime) and beacouse it kinda felt good to say i'm in the dollars but on this site i found much more. I like the mission threads, the personal thread and the chat is great too but what i found the best is that when u meet ppl here u don't judge ppl by they're looks, social status etc., but just by what kind of person they're and they judge u the same way. Thanks to a person here i met i realized that i shouldn't lose faight in myself nor others and that i should work hard to change the world by bringing love and peace :)

I joined a while back, because I started watching drrr. But the only reason that I can explain to myself for staying, is that I like the raw state in which ideas and information are shared here. It's kinda like the internet in its purest form.

I joined the dollars because just like many others, Durarara is my favorite anime, but i want to do good things for people in my life and i want to help leave a mark on this world, one that's not just about money and greed but one that is about doing the right thing. The reason i stayed is because, there are no rules to follow, and it feels like im doing something and not always wasting my time away... i also feel good by saying some of the things i think are kind, but important... at least they are to me... but i think the dollars is doing a good thing and should keep trying to do whats right for the world!

mostly because of drrr. i saw what they fought for in the anime and then i learned that they were real so i just had to join.

I also joined mostly because of Durarara, however knowing that the site exists also in real life where people want to make the world a better place and all, well it just kind of made me really happy and I had to join. I really like the fact that there are no rules and everyone can join since it's not a really secretive site where only certain people can be members. In fact, just like in the anime, I love the whole idea of Dollars, and everything in it. :) And it's fun to know that while living your usual life, you know that you're part of this group that is aiming for good and nobody actually knows it :P

I originally joined because a friend sent me here as a test to see if I could get in. I re-watched Durarara and picked out the scene where he puts in the password and came in to look around. Aaand... I stayed. That's the gist of it. Can't really say I'm a nice guy, all things told, but I do good things when I can, like any guy.

Hmm... Well, I suppose the reason I came is just about the same as the reason stayed...

The Dollars is an unusual group, for sure, but like to look at its foundations... The Dollars are about helping people. And the Dollars site is direct access to many individuals who share similar goals. Sure, this is the Internet, no more perfect then the world outside, but it's at least an improvement.

Here, most of us refuse to look down on others who have done nothing to deserve it, or those of us that are accosted for simply being who we are, or who simply don't conform for the sake of social acceptance, or even those of us that don't fit in.

Here I have an opportunity to shape minds, while having my own mind shaped by the rest of you... Together, we learn from one another, and grow, and use these connections to try to make a difference on a tiny chunk of rock hurting though space for no other reason than we care about our fellow living creatures. Very few of us, past, present, or future, could claim to have truly left a mark on this world before our passing... But what each and every one of us CAN do, is try to ease the suffering we encounter, and improve the world in any way we can, no matter how small.

I joined out of pure curiosity, the people are nice as well. I'm pretty cold towards strangers in person but once I get used to that person being around I eventually warm up to them.

So, I googled it and then had to remind myself to close my mouth. I had never thought that there would have been a real website. I ended up joining. I love being a dollar!!

This website isn't only DRRR fans. I've hardly even heard of the anime. My friend, a fan, sent me the link and password. It was fascinating to me, a secret group of people doing good things and communicating and discussing, all under anonymity. It hasn't even been a month, but I really want to help and be a part of the community. And the great part is, that I already am a part of this community just by knowing the password. The people I hang out with, they don't care about improving the state of thing, fixing actual problems. No one in my community does. I had begun to think that no one did, and gave up. Now I'm polishing up some of my old plans/suggestions/projects, and I'm going to post them here, because I feel like The Dollars can actually take them and use them, and I can finally help people. I'm beginning to remember why I made those plans in the first place.

I joined the Dollars for a few reasons. After seeing what they did in real life, I wanted to be a part of it. It also helps that I'm fan of the anime. Why haven't I left? I want to help out the world in any way I can!

I, myself, joined the Dollars not only because I'm a super fan of Durarara, but also to make a better place in this world. Even if Durarara is an anime, we can always make it turn out to be real by doing something good ourselves in the world. And to be honest it would definitely be cool. :)

Seemed like a good thing to do and an opportunity to help a few people with the missions. Other than that, I don't know. Some things you just do because it feels like you should (within morality, of course).

I joined like most people after watching drrr,I stayed because I enjoy reading what people post,(i do comment but its rare) while im mostly a form stalker :P if there's ever a meet up close to my location I'd do my best to be there

Joined because looking through the site I finally feel I wasn't the only one who felt the same on just about everything, got tired of being mistreated. Stayed because I want to help others.

I joined becase this site is dedicated to help people everywhere. To stop racism/bullying/biasism. To make people feel good about themselves even if their different/unquie.

I guess, I just felt like it... I saw the anime, DRRR!! and I thought I might make my own site for the Dollars. I decided to check if the group already existed, and this is what I found. So, here I am. The only thing I might disagree with is the localisation. We need to group together over more simple networks in order to really work together. We are much more widespread than just one city. I was originally going to create a hierarchical environment for the Dollars. To start, I was going to set up a local network, and pass on the idea to people that take interest. Then, I was going to let the popularity of the site spread, allowing different Admins to govern different areas. All of them I would eventually link to a global site for the Dollars, specifically administrated by myself. However, I respect the Admin of this site, and would not like to cause conflict amongst the clearly colorless. I'll admit, when I look back on it, my views may have been tyrannical, however, one of my biggest goals is to help get this site localised. It will take time and effort, but I want to help create unity in our gang, one mission at a time.

I just googled it after watching all of durr to see if any one made a real thing. I was a bit disappointed though, nothing real seems to be done, though I still come back to the site now and then anyways to see whats going on and to see if anything has changed.

I joined to make a difference in my community and the area's around it, and to help serve and protect others.

I joined because I though it would be a nice idea to be part of a community that is willing to make a change like in the anime but then I saw the FAQs and realized that this community isn't just about that, not everyone here has the same goal and purpose, so I left.

A few months ago I came back to check on things, I saw some interesting topics and discussions. I also saw some interesting and funny people that made my day. I decided to lurk more and then I though this site is better than what I was hoping for. So I decided to stay.

This community isn't like any other you see out there, I'm still looking forward what becomes of us in the future.

At first, I joined Dollars because of Durarara. However, after seeing a lot of missions, I think, wow! I never think to help people this way! Then, I'm serious doing the mission to make this world a better place. I believe that we can change the world to a better place if we constantly doing good things. Helping people in different ways somehow can help others although a little bit. If more people are in this, it is not impossible. That's why I never leave this site.

I joined Dollars just because of DRRR! But then I saw the missions and the posts about helping other people. Then I realized this website wasn't about DRRR! anymore it was a real organization that is set on to help.

So, I decided to stick on to Dollars!

Durarara changed my general view on life. I realised how much potential humans have, and how they waste it and simply become grey amongst the crowd. Nobody is willing to move out of this cycle.

Durarara showed me what ordinary people can really do. When I found this site, I realised there was a way to escape the cycle, to become your own unique person. It helped me find motivation to do things I could never do before.


Here, we're able to reach out beyond our town or city, and work together to really make a difference in this world. Being a member is a really special, uplifting feeling. Here, we don't need to hide things, it's really the only place some of us can be ourselves.

Changing the world is a perhaps a dream to others, but together we can make it reality.

Just wanna be a better self and try to change the world a little bit!!

I joined the Dollars because I thought the idea of an anonymous group of people helping strangers without want for recognition was amazing. The idea that Dollars is for absolutely everyone, and exist simply so they can exist, and find a direction somewhere along the way. We provide hope.
I stayed because I'd like to see what's happening here grow to something more substantial. I'd like to see persons in my community work toward something better. My faith for local law enforcement is absolutely gone, and I'd like to have a hand in stopping injustices around me. I stayed because recently, I saw a situation so horrifying that I immediately called 911, but I was too scared to approach the situation myself. No one ever came, and I had to walk away from the situation completely. No police officer ever responded, and the people involved passed a security guard, an ambulance, and a news van, but no one took notice. I'd like to see a group of people willing to do something about things like that. To actually take action against injustice. That is why I am here.

Im watching Durarara the anime so I thought it was really cool! So of course I joined :)

I enjoyed the anime, naturally... but I stayed because I like the message. I, one day, would like to change the world... and it's places like this that are already helping me do it.

I joined the dollars in search of something more in life. My life is kind of boring in which nothing new or exiting happens from day to day. Hopefully joining the dollars will open a new chapter in my life.

My joining of the Dollars was nothing extraordinary; I loved DRRR!! and Googled it to see if this was a real thing. I stumbled across the website, and instantly fell in love.

Why I stayed? First it was just a time killer, but I've come to love it for its ability to not only help me with my own problems, but to potentially help people with their own.

I was curious to see how many people made fan sites, but when i realized what was going on here, how it was true and real, I knew I'd have to stay.

I joined mostly because it was a community where everyone had at least ONE hobby alike. (DRRR!) And I knew I would be accepted without a doubt, along with the feeling of being anonymously apart of a world wide group. It seems like a relaxing thing overall.

I stayed because most of the people on this site are awesome, it gives me something to do, and restores my faith in humanity.

At first, I though I joined because of the exact same reason as Leigha Moscove (OP), but the real reason may be a desire to find my own personal Ikebukuro where no two days are quite the same and there is always something interesting or mysterious going on, yet it still feels comfy/cozy and familiar. A place where even if you know all the nooks and crannies, something always manages to suprise you in a fun yet adrenaline-pumping way. It's kinda hard to describe.

The reason why I've stayed so far is because this group has given me a glimmer of hope in humanity, and I want to see how far we can get.

i got lead here by Drrr like most people. ever since i found this site and joined i felt like i belong somewhere for once. and i like helping people and letting them know they got someone by their side. i really like some of the missions from here thats the reason why i stayed.

Honestly I haven't watched Durarara. Like I've read a chapter or two of the manga but I haven't seen the actual anime. I came here because one of my friends across the world on Anime Amino posted it and I was curious to see if the people who joined here actually wanted to change the world or if it's just a giant fan place. It was fortunately the former, of course.
I stayed here because I wanted to help change the world at least a little bit. The way I see it is that currently there is no hope for the human race at all and while I used to think that we can't change that path after I joined the Dollars I realised we could maybe. Me? I'm just floating around trying to get a grip on myself. I watched the anime a long time ago. Totally fascinated by the whole 'colorless gang' thing. Sounds pretty surreal, but I liked it. I want the DOLLARS to become not just this group, but real people living in the world, living and toughing it out with everyone. I want it to be like DOLLARS' first meeting in the anime: when the crowd stopped being... well, colorless, and became real. Tangible. I want that. I joined yesterday somewhat on accident because of this site's link on a watcher/friend's deviantART page. I put in the password as per the series almost more as a joke than anything. Since my college anime club is currently watching Durarara!!, I became acquainted with the idea, and did not think a site like this existed outside of something for fandom, which is precisely why I intend to stay. I think that bringing this idea into the world we live in is really incredible, and it's honestly humbling to be part of something like that.

I actually lingered around the website a long time ago, but never really interacted with anyone.

I joined because why not? I recently saw Baccano and Durarara and instantly love it. But what really intrigue me is that there is a group called the "Dollars". Their suppose to be the dangerous kind. Sometimes deadly. No one really knows about them.

Until I learned the truth about them. How the "Dollars" was just a group ,but it was more than that. I wanted to make a difference in my life as to others as well. Even if no one really knows how someone could help them.

As many of us joined Dollars, it was through (Anime influenced) curiosity; "I wonder if there is a real Dollars?" and I found them.

We may be anonymous, we do not have to do anything, but the 'message' of Dollars has given me inspiration to be a better person. To go into the world to make someone else feel better. I have always been one of those people who put others before themselves, and Dollars is like a fusion of everything I hold dear and new things for me to find. It is beauty in words.

Sure there are some really nasty characters here but a whole the Dollars is a force for good and has brought many people together. The missions section gives me an almost constant flow of things I can do for those who need help and I love it, because sometimes you run out of your own ideas.

I joined because I wanted to be part of something bigger than myself, to be part of a group or organization which has a place for me as I have a place for them, so I can contribute to it so it can contribute me back in return with new friends and good memories. I have no plans of leaving. I also want to feel excitement and the sense of adventure too. And also it's fun.

I joined because I needed a new place to exist on the network. Yeah G+ and Facebook are nice but being an old denizen of 4chan I needed a BBS. So here I am getting wrapped up in new things with new people.

By day I am a programmer working on building apps for public safety for smartphones (Android only for the time being) But at night I am usually playing video games watching anime or trying to hack into my own computer.

I have an avid love for the art of cyber-security to the point that people claiming to be hackers who are not generally tend to annoy me. I myself am not even what I would call a "Hacker" so I don't use the term lightly as saying it to the wrong people can have very bad ramifications and even worse outcomes.

I am dissapointed though, by all the perverts using this site as a means to do group pornography, and it seems disgusting to me. There are other places for that, and a site where younger kids could see it all is NOT the place. :C

Im here and now. Im a dollar through and through. Durarara is a great show and to know its alive is a great new event.

I joined because I was invited from a facebook group by someone who was a frequent user on my RP account I was intrigued and obsessed with the anime, so I thought it would be a good idea.

I ended up staying because the ideas were solid and I thought that some of them could actually work. I met interesting people, and enjoyed reading what everyone had to say. And since then I've been here for over a year. ^-^

I joined because I'm exactly like Izaya. I want to see humans destroy them selves. Also i want to see if humans have the potential to change them selves for the better. I joined because with dollars I can fined the answers to both my questions. To me life is like a game, I want to see if its worth playing.

I joined for that what Cyrus said too, also it's nice to read what people are writing or doing, which problems they have. Just to see how other people live, what they like and how they feel. And to write english for training and so on.

Well, I saw the link to this page on facebook and thought "wow, the Dollars are real!". I love Durarara and I really liked what Mikado did. Heh when I heard about it on Durarara and saw the dollars I thought if they were true so I looked this site up and BAM! People who care to keep Earth clean! So yea I do the missions with happoness all the time!

I wanted to see if it was real. You know, after watching some the anime and all. Then I notice a few jerks raining on peoples peraids and they're mistakes. So I stayed to see if I could make this place more "user friendly" and uplifting instead of rude and disappointing xP. From the start it was my dream 2 join such a site if it existed so I was SO Happy wen I joined & I'm still very happy. there are many reasons for joining the dollars and here are some examples. 1 If you spread word about the Dollars to the World then from the world you get kicked the crap out of by other groups that are in the same world. 2 you get to join a chat room that is alot of random crap that needs to be censored or monitored. 3 we have a web page that people use the word bump alot Awesome not. 4 we have hardly no rules to follow but the 2 which are, don't identify other real members, and respect the admins. but I'm all for the dollars but people GET REAL for crying out loud we are humans not baby's. And People in the chat room get a real life I understand the Izaya rooms but the Rape junk fuck off and leave get out or just die I don't care. This is not that kind of website We Are The Dollars. Honestly, I found out about this through a friend who was watching DRRR!, this is my first time here so I feel a bit like a noob ^^;

I made friends at first And i stayed for a while. I've always been a dollar at heart i don't think I've ever quit just been away. It's been six months I'm 20 years old now. I miss hidden though. It started at curiosity and i loved the anime. It was only a matter of time until i joined

It makes me think that I'm part of something big in the world.
If there was an emergency I would help in our name. If I stopped in the street and shouted for the help of the dollars then I like to think that many different people would stop to help.
Also I like to think that we can help big movements and I enjoy intimidating people who think gangs are evil people who go out with knives looking for victims by saying "It's actually sometimes about helping people"

It started off as curiosity. I kind of fell into DRRR ass first, trying my best to figure out all of my everything. But the website kept popping up in the anime and I was curious. So I went onto google and, quite simply, searched it. I knew that SOMEONE had to have made the website. And I showed up, just stumbling around as blind as always, and I've only gotten more curious. Can the Dollars really help people? Is it even real? I sure don't know, I'm brand new here and I've yet to find word of people actually going out and doing stuff. But I'm interested. And if I catch word of the Dollars doing real things, then I'm sure I'll end up trying my best to help out there too. Who knows where I'll end up there or here? to an extent we dont work as a group, instead most users treat the newer dollar members like idiots. i find it wrong but alot of members are equally as nice as others. dollars are ment to stick together and help eachother, yet some are misguied.

i remember this site when we only had five digits on the members count. i was on this during highschool, after highschool, once or twice during basic training, i even get on every so once in a whilenow that im in the army. heck. ive even been through a few different names. the first one i kinda fuked (censorship) upo on so i made a new one. i joined when i was home n virginia and i use it now in hawaii.

its a fun site. never a big fan of the chat room tho. (and before you say anything i know that it is not run by the owners of this site)

I joined because I was curious just how similar it was to the actual dollar site as seen in the anime. Now I come on to find things like this to post on, the open ended questions that are just where you post your opinion on the topic. What I actually like about this site is how from what I have seen over half of the boards stay on topic instead of going off in some random direction because of trolls etc. I also like it due to how nice most of the people are because it's a fairly small community by proxy too, and that seems to help people get along more instead of arguing all the time like on other forums or BBSs.

I was first introduced to this group by one of my friends, and I joined before I even saw DRRR. After watching it, I started coming online more, and now Im actually starting to enjoy it.

I joined the Dollars because of DRRR!! (of course). I knew about this site before but didn't join, now that I have I have that feeling that we can all change the world through here, and that's why I stayed with the Dollars.

I joined the Dollars, yes maybe because of Durarara!, but then I also thought: "Is there like a huge unknown group operating behind the shadows, doing good stuff and such?" Then I watched DRRR (Thanks to this site BTW), and I found out that such a group exists. Now, I feel like I can do something together with other people I don't even know, and I feel like every action I do, every step I take, every decision I make can take part in such a large world.

I came across this site by coincidence.

I stayed, because it gives me an opportunity to earn my place in the world. I feel like my life is so good, I don't deserve it. But maybe I can make myself a little bit more worthy through the dollars. Do good deeds, expect nothing in return. That kind of thing. In the dollars, I meet other people with the same mindset. This is why I stayed.

I'm kinda like Kotetsu and Misaki and maybe half the others who join. But to be a part of something where you can have friend and feel like belong, thats why.

Honestly, I'm not sure why I'm here.

I think it's the sense of that feeling that "I belong", that I'm part of something where people respect you because of what you offer, not what you look like. The feeling of pure, unadulterated bliss that follows when you realize that you're accepted for who you are and what your ideals are. Around here, my "kindness isn't as hard as you think" isn't scoffed or frowned upon; nor is it laughed at. It's accepted as a natural means to fix things and make them work, I love that feeling. Acceptance is something I've wanted my whole life; not only acceptance from others, but acceptance of myself as well.

My life met it and so I joined because i think it's not false to join this.

I really liked the idea of a group or gang for stayed out of other peoples business, and just kept too themselves, meeting on a website. I'm the only one of my friends who know of the dollars, and I never speak of the dollars because I've never been asked. This place is a safe place against my home and school lives, away from all my friends and family. It's where I can be... well... me!

Well I liked the anime. I am the only otaku that I know irl. And to me my life is pretty useless and boring. So this gives my life a bit more of a reason in life not to mention this place actually has missions so its a bit like a never ending game so I can't really get sad because there's always a mission I can do. You don't need to make anyone know your name. A complete stranger's conversation. I like this site because of that.

People might treat this site as a social network for chatting and such. I see it as a way to connect to people too.

But why I join and why I stayed are different.

I stayed because there are a few people who seriously took DOLLARS seriously. 'A seek for change', as one may call it. In between all the entertainment here, there are people who seek to save, and be saved.
Here in the Dollars, nobody knows who you are. Everyone is equal, yet everyone tried so hard to help each other ( let it be suggestions or scoldings or anything ).

Dollars is unlike any group I've been to before. It means a lot to me, and I'm sure it means a lot to others too.

I came here because I had hopes that there was a real Dollars. I googled it and sure enough here I found myself. I wouldn't call myself an active member, I come on here maybe once a month or less. When I am on here though, I see some spectacular things. People here are some of the most interesting, nicest people I have ever encountered. I'm what I like to call an observer, I stray away from others and plainly observe them for what they show. I don;t know any of you personally (though I would like to), but I know you are either here for a good cause or just curious about what this site has to offer. Interesting, mind blowing things can be found on this forum. things that if introduced to the public, might change a few lives forever. Some of you want to change the world, and some of you are just along for the ride, but either way we are one big group of extrordinary people you can't find anywhere else. This is why I stayed

I came to be a member through an anonymous tip. I've stayed because well... Some people just don't see enough good deeds and nice things happening without the "string" being attached. But really there's more of it than what we see. Good deeds happen everyday, we just don't always see them. Wanting to change the world into a better place benefiting humans is a little contradictory for the whole "I hate humans" bravado. Saying that you don't want to change the world to benefit humans, but instead yourself won't work either as you are most certainly a human. If you really hated mankind, you would hate yourself. That is understandable in the sense that you hate how you acted in the past, but while you are in fact that very person you hate, you are at the same time a completely different person. If you detest who you were then grow into what you want to be.

Durarara!! Maybe... but usually Dollars was made to make the world a better place. That's why I joined and why I'm staying.

It was when I finished watching durarara that I thought to myself "is the dollars real?" and then I found this and when I read what people say about real world problems, and changing the world, I wanted to become a part of a group that would change the world and so I stay here hoping I can change the world

The reason why I joined was that I was looking for a group that helped people without being in everyone's face and boasting on the news about what they did. I am staying cause of the very same reason why I came here. It just makes sense to me.

Like all the others here I first watched Durarara. And this was three years ago too. I really liked the idea of a Dollars froup existing which actually has a more altruistic side. What though triggered my interest the most was that: "There is no leader and no rules." I was so excited at the beginning. But now I see that core od the Dollars ideology gets kinda rotten. And that's when I see things like: "Don't do this and don't do that." I am planning to stay and I am planning to increase Dollars' fame in a good manner here in my country. We are going through a hard time and a group which with small Missions can give to someone a smile because of a good deed, is something we shall all ''fight'' for.

I am actually curious was this site based off of the anime or was the anime based off of this site? and if it was based off of this site than how much of the anime true?

I came here because my friend casually explained to me that the Dollars actually existed after she found out I was watching Durarara.

I wanted to know if there really was a colourless gang doing anonymous acts of good in the world. When I searched for it online and found out it was true, I couldn't help but check it out.

I'm not looking to change the world but If I can help just one person and show them its not all bad out there; I'd consider it worth my time to be here. ^w^ A few missions I have found seem to have the ability to help others. So I stay and hope I can lend a hand to those in need.

i never really fit in to groups. i joined the dollars because i was hoping to find somewhere people would stop hating me. even if they dont know me. at first it just seemed like a fun group, but i really like it, even though i havent been a member for long.

i like reading about the rest of you. seeing what you have to say, but unlike other places, you guys dont say very many harmful things to eachother. its nice. i think i have been depressed for awhile now, and this place has sort of helped me out i guess. thanks guys.

It's been a history happened for me. Dollars is a positive place thay everyone will feel comfortable. And one day if one of the member has any problems. We all help each other. The spirit of dollars is teamwork but not a shotgun gang. One day, dollars will be popular and spread all over the world because of its unique ability to comfort us. And we also learn and see different things happened on earth. All made by human mistakes. We learn and changes the world. The real world is actually more complicated than the Ikebukuro city in the anime.

I've been searching for the Dollar website since i know there will be one and here i found one ..so,i'm looking forward to know the members of Dollars and of course to get along with them~ :)

well i have been wondering and i found this..

One guy invited me, he said me the link, but when I asked him "What's the password?" he said "Look for it, you can also find it in Durarara!". So I watched DRRR! to find out the password, I understood that the DOLLARS are very cool, and so I joined it. But I think this guy did this to me extra so I'll watch DRRR! and become a otaku, because of him it all happened and DRRR! was my first anime.

i Joined Dollars not in a long time. the first time i know Dollars is suddenly found the page and then somebody give me the password. i'm still here because Dollars' members are reminds me that "the world isn't as bad as you think" and i'm proud to be the part of Dollars :)

I joined Dollars a few days ago when I finished watching Durarara. I think it's amazing what dollars did in anime,and i hope we will too.I stayed because I want to be part of this and it always reminds me of Shizuo screaming ,,IZAYAAA'',and them chasing around Ikebukuro.

Update: so I joined almost 2 months ago and I stayed because here are great people and we have the same brain-wave :D Here are good peoples and even if some are mean, it's okay: everyone has their bad moments :)
I hope that I will never be forced to leave this community ^^

"おもしろい" To put it simply: "it's interesting" ... The Dollars are interesting, and the whole concept behind them is interesting. As of whether I will stay, it depends. It depends on the compatibility of my idea of this site with the real deal. Even without this site I've began to alter my daily life to make room for something bigger; the basic idea, for now, is to fight the ignorance of the people in my community by informing them about the things they're unaware of; including ethnic intolerance, LGBT rights, monopolizing knowledge through media, etc. The goal is just to make them think, even for a bit. People need to start questioning information that they're being fed on a daily basis. Ignorance and unawareness leads to discrimination, intolerance and pain. By educating those around us, we can make a change ;)

This isn't a fan site, we're an online community. Imagine as as a sort of interactive news community with extra boards for other conversations. For the most part a lot of the active posts sort of is news worthy in a sense, not counting Random.

To be honest, I watched Durarara! and that's how I heard of the group "the Dollars". At first, I just wanted to see if there really was a group, and, if not, I was planning to start one. However, after a single Google search, I was able to find this site. I only arrived yesterday so I don't know anything about this, but I plan to stay similar to reno's reason: it's interesting. I spent the entire day today at school thinking about what I'd find here, what stories are told, what events unfold. I may sound cliche or optimistic, but I plan to stay due to the very reason why I came. I'm looking forward to future posts and hope that one day we'll cross paths.

I wanted to join the community and help in any way i can. I stay because the people are nice and its great seeing people with some of the same views as you do.

At first, when I heard about the group of Dollars here, I only wanted to be part of the community that is interesting, since all our identities here are anonymous. But after later on being part of this group, I found out I wanted something more than that.

There are various types of people here. Each including there pasts, their personalities, their ordeal they have dealt. But one thing is for sure- there are people that needed to be heard by others. I want to help them, here their sayings, understand the ones that have been mistaken.

I just joined; I started watching DRRR just over a week ago
and was interested to see if there really was a Dollars group.

I love DRRR!! and decided to check it out on reddit. the DRRR subreddit is weak, that led me here.(It's my first day.) I was interested in meeting people because my friends and I have become distant. I figured I'd come across people of like mind here. But I was secretly hoping to find a real gang like the dollars here. Im hoping randomly someone i meet asks if im in the dollars. also was hoping for a mobile app for the chatrooms/ threads and things.

I was kind of expecting a real gang too, but that's probably because I'm still watching it, even though I started 10 days ago

On the other hand, I totally agree with the comparison to Izaya in that himanity has essentially gone to Hell in a handbasket, the only way to change its fate is to work TOGETHER.

At first when I found about this site, I was simply excited to join in the fun you all have. But then now I want to do small things that can change the world,expose my opinions to topics we talk about here,and then I just want to be... Acknowledged. To be straight I believe some of us here are socially challenged, for example I can't make so much friends everyone else seem to be making (but hey I aint pointing fingers). Whethe you're a sixty years old retiree or a curious ten years old fanboy, no one cares. Don't you think that its a great thing? I mean we're totally blind here about each others-- but at the same time we don't judge others and no one is discriminated.

The dollars to me is a place where anyone of any age, race, religion, gender can take parts in every kind of discussion even though we're all total strangers but we discuss (maybe sometimes heated arguing) about problems and what we-- normal people-- can do. I mean you can't exactly talk to someone on the streets about things we discuss here.

Here in the dollars everyone is equal. Every opinion is regarded important, regardless of who you are or how expensive your phone or how pretty/handsome your face is.

That's why I keep coming back here. Anyone agrees?
