America splitting (40)

1 Name: kurosaki22 : 2012-02-25 20:36 ID:X8OesY6y [Del]

what would happen in the event that america splits and more importantly what would to us as an organization. Forgive me if this doesn't belong here. would all regions secede from the states. would the south become the new confederacy? from the way things are looking the us could be heading that way. i just want thoughts on this matter,

I feel like this could fit better in random.

Regardless this would never happen, what evidence do you have that makes you think that this could happen?

3 Name: kurosaki22 : 2012-02-25 21:18 ID:X8OesY6y [Del]

just from this tweet i saw about america downfall and something like this won't be a surprise anyway. america will fall just like rome. but the question is what will happen in the aftermath and sorry i posted this on main. i could continue this in random.

Iunno, it's an if question that could make people think and post long long answers. Or hell, just making people think is good enough.

5 Name: TRASHnSUICIDE : 2012-02-25 21:51 ID:9UjAhlE+ [Del]

I wouldn't be suprised if america did.

thruth be told tho... there's never been a country quite like the US. The constitution leaves quite a lot of self governing power to the states, that they don't really need to split, or secede, they have enough say in their own gov to change enough to make it's people happy, and, ofc, they could always give more leniency and allow even starker change to happen, if things got bad enough. But it generally ends with those more extremist states to be shun by the rest of the union, this would hudrt their economy, and so they'd slowly but surely go more... normal.

2. Your second assumption made me laugh
3. If it were to happen, itd be political.
4. If it were to happen, it would be long after we are dead

To answer the part of "what would happen to the dollars" probably nothing because for one thing, this site doesn't revolve around America. We'll probably just end up spammed by a bunch of threads about it until the news of America splitting up dies down.

And I really wouldn't be surprised, nor would I likely care if America split. It depends on what happens to the states individually, and travel between them, along with the changes to the country as a whole and what would affect me as a person. Hopefully the economy would get better, but I don't know much about economics in general, so I have no idea how America splitting up would effect our economy or lives at all.

>>6 "there's never been a country quite like the US"
yfw our banking system, law system, laws, and just about everything else regarding our government's set up are almost exact copies of Britain's governing methods.

Throw in a few more fruity words, get rid of the monarchy and church, and tada - you have America. (Well, we may not be governed by the church, but the government is definitely influenced by religion. Unfortunately.) We have grown since the consitution was first made, but things are definitely still similar.

>>10 THIS.
>>1 Kurosaki, you're an idiot. I think you should be caring more about your government than a site that wouldn't be overly affected anyway. It's not like this is an American site. It's international; we just speak English on here.

>>15 Yeah, that as well, but I figured it would be easier to understand if we compared it to something more recent.

>>14 The nation as a whole? We would probably just divide up in states or groups of states and continue on with our lives. If the government screws up, they screw up, and then we make our own and get over it. Everyone may be panicking and shit, but I don't think the states would seced if they didn't think they could handle the following situations.

18 Name: Thiamor !yZIDc0XLZY : 2012-02-26 19:01 ID:2HWmxOp8 [Del]

This isn't like the fucking days of slaves, and the South and North or whatever it was, is fighting. The only troubles we're having, majorly, is Political, than anything, really.

If anything, we'd continue on with the lives we already have, and a new form, if not the same basic form, of government will be created/recreated, and we go on from there. Like normal.

19 Name: Leolion : 2012-02-26 19:58 ID:jXrQntWU [Del]

Personally I find the question very interesting. I think that in the aftermath someone would try to take over the fallen government like in third world countries. Not much would happen to the Dollars if America just collapse unless like in Rome and America we just lose all our technology (i don't think that we would). There is still a possibility that the US collapsing would send all the states into chaos.

20 Name: Kawayro : 2012-02-26 20:01 ID:Skvht6BM [Del]

It probably will not happen. It goes against the constitution for a state to secede, so if the congress and the government is not retarded, they will call in the National Guard to fix the situation.

21 Name: Ceil : 2012-02-26 21:06 ID:wRVgq4u4 [Del]

>>21 Holy fuck. SIR, DO YOU KNOW HOW TO TYPE? Just curious.

From what I can understand in that post, you sound like a dumb fuck with some hero-complex who doesn't understand basic English nor the concepts of "intelligence" nor "maturity".

Once you rewrite that post using properly typed English, I'll state my reasons.

>>21 Only way to rebel against America is when the Government is unstable. Another you sound like someone trying to sell a car not someone trying to rally a rebellion. I don't like how the US is running this country any more then you but how do you even plan to rebel? If you can seize control of the US how what would you do with it?

Lastly, you're trying to sound like you know everything. How the fuck do you know shit about how to win against all the COUNTRIES in the fucking world, moron? How? Answer = You know NOTHING.

You're just some child, sitting behind a computer, stating off bullshit lies because no one can do anything to you.

You're either a clever troll or a mental hospital escapee.

This county's government isn't perfect, but there are a lot of hard working, good people in it's midst. Many friends and family member of mine work in the federal 'bureaucracy', Aka the side of government that most people either don't know anything of and/lump them together with the actual politicians.

A lot of good soldiers, civil servants, and other have given their sweat, blood and tears to give you the freedoms to pitch and moan about the government on the internet. Think before you start talking about rebellion and the standard 'hurr durr fuck the gov Lolol' crap.

I respect your right to voice your opinion, but please keep in mind the people who work to give you that very freedom next time.

Ah but you can! That's the beauty of it!

Don't ever let anyone tell you that voting/writing to your Congressman/being politically active is a waste of time. The efforts of an individual person may not be immideiatly noticeable obviously, rather than trying to enact massive change by yourself, think of it as a million small 'pokes' by concerned Americans. There's strength in numbers, particularly when it comes to positively influencing your country.

As far as the federal bureaucracy goes, what part would you like to know about? I certainly don't know everything about it, as It's a large sometimes inefficient system. But I do know a bit about certain segments (mostly the areas in which family and friends of mine work).

In general, the bureaucracy is the end of the government that actually implements the law of the land. The various agencies are very diverse and numerous. Chances are any aspect of the 'government' you can think of has an associated agency, there's quite a few. :p
