7 Name: Thiamor !yZIDc0XLZY : 2011-12-18 21:52 ID:ewKPtWiG [Del]

Got the source for this so called information? Everyone has stated 'Oh it's over' or 'oh they will soon be pulling out the troops" and yet they still stand there. Fighting. Proof or it didn't happen. Sorry.

http://ca.news.yahoo.com/nearly-nine-years-u-withdraws-iraq-043831767.html

That's just one of many. I guess people who live under a rock won't know about the latest news, huh.

9 Name: Thiamor !yZIDc0XLZY : 2011-12-18 22:02 ID:ewKPtWiG [Del]

Unless it's stated, people don't go searching up the war 24/7. So, douche, learn that everyone doesn't access the fucking news everyday of their miserable, god-damned lives. Unlike you, who possibly has nothing better to do, than to know every bit of information thrown out at you.

10 Name: Thiamor !yZIDc0XLZY : 2011-12-18 22:03 ID:ewKPtWiG [Del]

Stated such as 'An announcement on almost EVERY radio-wave, and TV station/channel'.

11 Name: Lt. Dodger : 2011-12-18 22:05 ID:07sQTuLz [Del]

>>9 ? Relax, lol. Just cause you've been proven wrong doesn't warrant you to rage all over the internet. And I just happened to see that when I tried to access my e-mail. No need for you to suddenly make bizarre assumptions based on one post.

12 Name: Kat : 2011-12-18 22:06 ID:Pi7EFaWi [Del]

Cromulent! Welcome home, troops! I've read several books with the setting of the middle east and honestly, it's growing tiresome to read about all of the IEDs blowing up soldiers and the RPGs flying around and the enemies being able to take off their battle uniforms and blend in with the civillians. Although that happens in any war. Oh, well, welcome home soldiers!

13 Name: Sleepology : 2011-12-18 22:07 ID:ecwb1v5M [Del]

actually, they are still leaving a buttload at the embassy, so not everyone gets to come home.

14 Name: Anonymous : 2011-12-18 22:08 ID:gIFWLMBm [Del]

War is not over

15 Name: Sleepology : 2011-12-18 22:08 ID:ecwb1v5M [Del]

>>9 i found this out.. monday? so no, people didnt have to search up 24/7, they just have to pay attention

16 Name: Hotei : 2011-12-18 22:10 ID:nyHfHHGg [Del]

>>embassy is just another way to keep a pereminant foothold in a country!

17 Name: Thiamor !yZIDc0XLZY : 2011-12-18 22:19 ID:ewKPtWiG [Del]

>>11
Then don't say I live under a rock, either. Again, not everyone goes out, notices the news, may they be looking for it or not (may it be on the Internet, Television, Radio, or Newspaper). So it isn't my fault, and I needn't be seeing some fucking moronic accusations (better yet, assumptions, as I lacked this word a minute ago) that I may live under a rock. I'll let you know, that I keep up, mostly, with the news as much as I can. So it just so happened that this little bit passed me by.

Your post rubbed me the wrong way. As if stating I live under a rock and never pay fucking attention.

18 Name: Beltove !HheIWklu.2 : 2011-12-18 22:24 ID:GJzxDRey [Del]

>>11 >>15 You two need take a moment to open your eyes and read before posting. Thiamor isn't pissed 'cause you proved him wrong or some shit; rather he is irritated that you stated he lived under a rock. I hadn't learned of this until just now myself, but then again I have a life and responsibilities so I can sit around online all day. Some people have other priorities, respect that and be polite about it.

19 Name: Lt. Dodger : 2011-12-18 22:27 ID:07sQTuLz [Del]

>>17 Then don't respond with a "pics or didn't happen" mentality? You didn't even bother making a quick Google search to see whether what this thread is saying is true or not. A war just ended and you act like a douche about it. Nice one.

But hey, I'll say sorry about that last part cause I admit it was pretty douchebaggery of me too.

20 Name: Thiamor !yZIDc0XLZY : 2011-12-18 22:30 ID:ewKPtWiG [Del]

Douche or not, you can't argue with the fact of how many times people stated that it's over, about to end, and so on. I should have searched after seeing this, but what's done is done.

21 Name: Kairu !QTMzHnO/tI : 2011-12-18 22:33 ID:ZKOgNhF/ [Del]

There is no reason to fight, just be glad that America won the war.

22 Name: Beltove !HheIWklu.2 : 2011-12-18 22:39 ID:GJzxDRey [Del]

Thank you for apologizing, Lt. Dodger. A lot of people wouldn't have done that; it seems not everyone is a complete ass.

But as >>21 said, let's not fight let's fucking celebrate! One step closer to ending some of the madness in the world as well as bringing back our men and women. It's about damn time they got to be home with their friends and family.

23 Name: Kon : 2011-12-18 22:41 ID:JQpEDY3A [Del]

>>20 Ohh god! just say sorry, overreacted, however you're a condescending ass. Until then, you -for me- live in a cave (nice upgrade, right?)

PS. there won't be troops guarding the embassy, it'll be paid contractors therefor: Welcome Back TROOPS! Every one and all!

24 Name: Kairu !QTMzHnO/tI : 2011-12-18 22:42 ID:ZKOgNhF/ [Del]

>>22 It wasn't called The War on Terror for nothing?
Great to see that we are able to bring back those serving and minimize the casualties and democratic soreness between Iraq and nature. What a great pre-Christmas present

25 Name: Thiamor !yZIDc0XLZY : 2011-12-18 22:47 ID:ewKPtWiG [Del]

>>23

Saying I should have searched and saying what's done is done is as close to saying that as you'll get from me.

26 Name: Beltove !HheIWklu.2 : 2011-12-18 22:48 ID:GJzxDRey [Del]

>>23 Sorry, but shut the fuck up! It is done, don't start another argument. Just be happy and joyful, it is almost Christmas.

>>24 Hmm, It's been awhile since such a great gift has come from the government. Wish they would do it more often, am I right? Well, I just can't wait to hear from my friends who have family overseas, I am sure they are absolutely estatic!

27 Name: Kon : 2011-12-18 23:02 ID:JQpEDY3A [Del]

>>26 Now must you really pick fights?

But let's not let this distract from the subject at hand, WOHOO TROOPS!

28 Name: Beltove !HheIWklu.2 : 2011-12-18 23:10 ID:GJzxDRey [Del]

>>27 O.o I wasn't picking a fight, I was askig that you wouldn't. But yes, I was very rude about it, so I am sorry. Let's just let bygones be bygones, okay?

Yeah, but not all the troops are coming home straight away...

37 Name: Celestial Envoy : 2011-12-19 09:09 ID:RY65PsjS [Del]

Do all of you realize that if the troops are coming back it will take at least two years to actually get everyone out of there?

38 Name: Beltove !HheIWklu.2 : 2011-12-19 11:02 ID:GJzxDRey [Del]

>>36 >>37 That is true, but it is still heartwarming to know some are coming home and more will be. You have to stay positive.

43 Name: Makoto !wi40scaBUM : 2011-12-23 00:56 ID:kn/HgyZ2 [Del]

Really, you all think that we are done with this? Anyone can make some statement that "it's over" without anything behind it, even the government. There are so many ways that they can not actually do this, they could just move the troops over to Afghanistan or some other country that we never should have entered in the first place. In a few days they could have some press release saying something along the lines of, "due to the fact that a few dozen of our soldiers have just been killed in Iraq, we are going to remain there and kill thousands more Iraqi in return". >>21 Seriously, since when has retreating been considered winning the war. What's more, this "war" that we are celebrating the end of is not a real war, doesn't matter what you say about this conflict, the fact of the matter is that the United States hasn't been involved in an actual declared war since WWII.
Tl;dr Basically, I probably just made some comments that pissed people off because it wasn't the generic American patriotism that most people are brainwashed into following.

44 Name: archadmiral!ISvQ2vSsZc : 2011-12-23 13:40 ID:J8HtvlS+ [Del]

War is over but we are leaving the economic situation in turmoil just as they did with afghanistan before, shia is vying for iranian influence, sunnis are trying to get saudi arabian influence.....

war is over but its just the silence before a clausterfauk storm occurs ...again

45 Name: sha : 2011-12-23 13:46 ID:n+4WuWiI [Del]

its never over. all we did was change shifts and after that, those that are here are going to be sent somewhere else to fight again

That is what being a Soldier is all about. You are never done with fights of any kind, until you're out of the Military.

Yeah, I kinda feel suspense, too. Have we had any grudges with any other countries lately?

57 Name: Anonymous : 2011-12-23 21:17 ID:+ie/+7aV [Del]

Don't we owe one or two or three countries, I dunno, a couple trillion dollars or something?

Unless you're a soldier yourself I don't think you have the grounds to insult them. Soldiers even for an imperialistic nation like America have to endure a lot of mental anguish.

You also can't make generalizations. Just because one box is blue, it doesn't mean all boxes are blue.

Get your head out of your ass.
