In January 2006 in New York, the patient of a well-known psychiatrist draws the face of a man that has been repeatedly appearing in her dreams. In more than one occasion that man has given her advice on her private life. The woman swears she has never met the man in her life.

That portrait lies forgotten on the psychiatrist's desk for a few days until one day another patient recognizes that face and says that the man has often visited him in his dreams. He also claims he has never seen that man in his waking life.

The psychiatrist decides to send the portrait to some of his colleagues that have patients with recurrent dreams. Within a few months, four patients recognize the man as a frequent presence in their own dreams. All the patients refer to him as THIS MAN.

From January 2006 until today, at least 2000 people have claimed they have seen this man in their dreams, in many cities all over the world: Los Angeles, Berlin, Sao Paulo, Tehran, Beijing, Rome, Barcelona, Stockholm, Paris, New Dehli, Moskow etc.

At the moment there is no ascertained relation or common trait among the people that have dreamed of seeing this man. Moreover, no living man has ever been recognized as resembling the man of the portrait by the people who have seen this man in their dreams.

If I see this guy in my dreams, I'll be sure to dream up a knife and stab him or something, make sure he don't go into anyone else's dream. If I'm lucky, by stabbing him and waking up after, he'll appear in my room, where I can then continue stabbing him. Herpderp.

They say that people you see in your dreams, you have seen in your waking life, even though you don't remember seeing them. It's quite impossible for this man to travel all over the world to be seen though, this is really creepy. The moment I saw his face... it really is. I haven't seen this man in my dreams, people in my dreams don't have faces...

Seriously the people in my dreams don't have a face past their mouth. I do have dreams where the person gives me advice. My family's history though shows that it's normal. It's our culture. We have tales of this. It's supposed to be a warning of something terrible going to happen. It actually resembles the description in the tales. The man, who is like a god in our culture, goes around to people who can make a difference before a major disaster. He has eyes filled with tar that hold no shine, but hold the universe. His hair is thin, from the damage we, as humans, have done. His face is round and soft and pale, for his heart holds the love of all humans, none left out. Our culture describes that he would visit whole villages before a flood or a blizzard. It's really interesting. I don't really believe in them... but it still worries me that he has been popping up through-out the world.

This guy is... creepy. He looks like that Pee Wee Hermin guy to me :/ If he's in my dreams, I don't remember. Hey, if so many people saw him, though, maybe he's actually "God" warning you in your dreams to watch out for pedos :D

Well... that was weird :/ Totally coincidental, but still weird. I was looking on the site, and right when I got to the picture gallery, I got a call from this weird guy. He muttered some crap in it seemed like several different languages and then gave me his phone number and hung up. There's a minute of my life I'll never get back >o< But, anyway, his voice reminded me of this creeper dude.

Honestly we need to get over this, when ever we find something different, something explainable, we find it creepy (in the best case) but other times bad, evil, demonic. I say that we should be grateful and happy to know that there is an entity out there that likes to help, and it being a dream, I'm sure that it could take any shape it wishes, but chooses to be that one very non distinctive guy -personally I'd say specifically to not be mistaken as an angel-
I'd say that this post belongs in the main, specifically so that we should all try and look for him within our dreams, and maybe ask if we could help him with anything.

This is a sociological/psychological issue.
I cant remember the exact name but its called the *nameofdoctor* effect.

So..maybe 10 or 15 people may have seen this man or something similar.
When brought to public light, and people are shown an image of the guy, people's memories and what they remember can distort itself to make them remember what they want to remember. This becomes a case study when something traumatic happens, and people block it out of their memories.

Because, subconsciously, people may have wanted to fit in, or be apart of something new, they may have falsified what they truly dreamed about. And now, of course, that all fo you have seen the image, I am sure that at one point or another in your dreams he will show up. Dreams have to do with subconscious thoughts, and it is said that we have anywhere from 5-10 dreams a night. We just dont remember them.
I don't remember any of my dreams to be completely honest.
But, I digress,
Last vivid dream I remember, some entity was choking me to death, and at the same time, I felt like I was choking in real life. I literally felt like I had fought off something in my sleep.

I have never seen this man in my dreams before.
And I think for many people, his face may represent a certain fear or something subconscious, so when asked if they remember this man's face in a dream, they equate it to that.

That is just my theory however.

1. Most human minds work in a similar way there fore the face is just a common combination created by the human mind from other faces we have seen.
2. It could be the power of suggestion. Someone shows you the picture and you dream that face because you've been told of its connection with dreams.

I kinda want to say i know This Man. i know stupid but it is true. a great friend of mine looks JUST like This Man, less now because I make him trim and pluck his eyebrows. My friend is a traveling phsycologist and has been to many places over the world and in many country's magazines. I'm not saying my friend IS this man but it just made me think that maybe the subcon. brain could have seen his face and used it in people's dreams. Also the mind is very complex and has been known to create images that would frighten us when needed or even comfert us. This Man's face showsby the cheek bowns and the angle of the eyes that the mind could very well think This Man as safe or different depending on the person.

The man looks super familiar. I don't know why either, maybe its the features on this guys face that makes him seem that way. Though my art teacher always tells us a little saying "Don't trust a person with thin lips." Though it seems a lot of the dreams are when people are going through emotional stress. If I recall. I read somewhere that the brain cannot come up with random faces. Every face you see is a face you've seen before even if it was just a quick glance.
But for people all over the world to see this man and keep seeing him. That's a bit weird there... nearly impossible.

Has anyone considered the possibility that their memory of dreams were altered by seeing the photo? Dreams are not as concrete as memories, and it has already been proven that memories can be manipulated. It is very real posibility that the memory of that specific person was planted into their heads simply by being asked "has this person shown up in your dreams before?".

Guys, this has been proven to be an elaborate hoax. The entire website was created by an Italian Guerilla Marketing specialist for an upcoming horror movie called 'This Man' that never got made. The film was about the man in the picture who starts to find out that he appears in other peoples' dreams and his quest to find out what is going on. It's a very elaborate hoax, but it is all fake. People act like they've seen him in their dreams because A) It's an extremely distinctive face so they feel like they must have seen it and B) It's how human psychology works.
