Due to the original thread reaching towards 900 posts I've taken the advice of some members and made this brand new thread. :D

Here are the new guidelines for joining the brand new Dollars texting groups :

Send an email to nakura.co.jp@gmail.com

Include your preferred nickname
Phone number and country code
Area in which you live (state / country)

For those of you who don't know I am starting a brand new set of texting groups based on common locations of members so that people in the texting groups will be people who live in and around the same place. I feel this is more Dollersesque overall. The original groups will NOT be disbanded. They will however no longer be moderated as official Dollars texting groups. An invitation to everyone from those groups is extended to join the new groups. :) I didn't want to split anyone up from their friends.

Happily I am pleased to announce that I am no longer the only person to be running this endeavor. I now have help! Wooooot! Ryugamine Mikado will be aiding in answering emails and adding people to groups so so hopefully this will mean no huge wait for you all to be added and that I wont be getting swamped anymore!

The new groups will be made, in theory, tonight with Ryugamine's help. I have over 100 emails in my inbox waiting to be sorted. Keep em coming, I need everyone who wants in to email me asap so I can figure out how to sort the groups area coverage.

I will be posting regular updates in theory... or Ryugamine will... and together we'll be able to run the groups more efficiently.

I will also be able to be in the groups chatting more often which is what I originally did back when there were only a few groups. I miss everyone and hopefully with everything being more organized I can once again join in.

So let's all welcome Ryugamine Mikado to the Dollars Texting Group as its second admin! Wooot~

Could've had people post your updates while bumping, that works wonders instead of just posting bump. I know I've tried to do my part when doing that, sometimes. But meh, what's done is done. Hoorah for new thread. All that. Just remember to try to keep it in one thread till the thread limit.

I'm attempting to set up the new groups tonight, possibly tomorrow, with Ryugamine's help. From there I'll be adding everyone to groups so hopefully you won't have to wait much longer. I was letting my emails pile up a bit so I would have a decent number of people in which to create the area groups.

I’m really excited to be working with Izaya-san to help organize the dollars texting groups! Although I’m new here, I felt a really strong connection to everyone when I saw the amazing things that the Ikebukuro group did! To have so many people come together for something out of a desire to help on a whim is so cool! Because of this I talked to Izaya-san about how we could make the texting group as close to the Ikebukuro group as possible. Separating the groups up by region geographically may mean making them different sizes at first, but we will grow each region individually too. The meaning of having a colorless group is that even people who aren’t fans of the show may like the idea and become dollars too. Looking at the countries board I realized how achievable this really is! California alone has 227? Texas has 75? Malaysia has 229? Wow! My dream is that one day we can have dollars online from everywhere, but also groups region by region so that if a dollars member is travelling, they don’t ever have to feel like I did stepping off the train to Ikebukuro. They will be able to go to a new city and instead of feeling alone they can think, “now that I’m here, I think I’ll text some of the dollars in this area.”

Update. Sorry for lack of adds. I've been so busy since I will be hosting 2 panels at an upcoming Convention. I have a lot of work to do and when I have free time, University uses all of it up.

I'm actually working on a thing with text messaging, myself.

It involves trusted members having access to the BBS Email that I created as well as to the Text messaging/announcement account as well. Basically any person with the admin account, can send announcements and it sends them to all who joins that page.

In both Emails AND Text Messages. Well I think it works on the Email part as well. I know for a fact it does with Text Messages.

Just wanted to share that.

From what I've gathered on the blog and the comments on it, Open Groups is still a fairly new addition to Group Me. It hasn't been working for other users, either. Hopefully, things will be ironed out sooner rather than later, but it's a great find either way.

Well I made a topic, about it.

You can receive Email alerts, text alerts as well as send alerts from your phone.

If you send it to the THIAMOR keyword, it sends it to everyone, and places what was said on a web page of mine. Like a sort of chat log.


If you send it to THEBBS keyword, only those in the BBS group will see it.


You can also log into the admin group account I made for everyone, to send and read messages that way.

Eh. Well, just copy and paste the message/update you wanted to put in the new thread on this thread. Even though there is a high chance of it getting ignored... You dont have to pay for it. The only way you would pay anything is if you went over your texting limit.

When I text a number, it tells me "Sorry, but you are not part of this group. Text #new to start a new group." I don't want to start my new group. How do I join?

Hey guys, Ill make some more groups soon that will still allow you to add yourselves by texting the number.

Sending info to me doesn't come through anymore and I'll have to talk to Subrosian and Momo to see if they're still adding people.

This group texting has come very far. over 14 groups and over 1,000 people have come in. While some have left the majority have stayed and have made small communities within their groups with each other. It's a really awesome thing to have been able to start and been a part of.

I'm hoping that I will be able to be more active in the groups soon. :)
