Living an ordinary life is rather boring, don't you think? Where's the challenge in living an ordinary life? It's sad, and everything is in black and white. Living an ordinary life, it's like you're already dead inside. What do you guys think?

make life unordinary than, do random crazy stuff that you think sounds fun, jump on the bed, run around downtown and scream in peoples faces, write a sign screaming for love and understanding and joy and stand on a street corner, save up to travel to a far off destination, draw stuff, use your imaginaitonnnnnnnn *breaks into song*
basically though we all feel like this at one time or another, so we cure it with hobbies or pointless shopping, maybe try getting a girlfriend/boyfriend? buy a pet cat or dog, life is far from ordinary, and...
...the reason why it is black and white is so you can fill in your own colors.

But seriously... I agree with you, people who let their lives fall into the ordinary, and let it become routine upset me... I hate how the world is set up now, I'd much prefer to just be able to travel and do odd jobs than settling down in one place and getting a desk job... But this mindset is what made me choose my occupation. Now.. go buy several yards of nylon string, 2 bananas, a handful of marbles, and a graphing calculator. GO, GO, GO.

ORDINARY is overrated. You can't really say you've lived unless you rise above the mundain and clichéd! XP
10 Name: Kuro Mizo : 2011-11-27 15:50 ID:ufIxYl8I [Del]
Well I wouldn't want anyone to be offended if we had a discussion about religion. We all have different views, and it wouldn't be such a good idea to try to change those views by saying something really otherworldly and I tend to be very blunt and I'm trying to change that.
11 Name: *insertnamehere*!!mhJDjCwh : 2011-11-27 15:54 ID:q1KSsdGt [Del]
No one's gonna get on you for being blunt and speaking your mind. Except short sighted people. And you're not intentionally trying to change them, are you? If not, then there's no harm in saying anything of those sort.

>>10 Well, there is a thread on random that was a very good example of religious discussion
not getting out of hand and offensive. It was largely a very civil discussion, and many good points were made.
But we're off topic.
I don't feel like life
needs to be a challenge. Is it not the basic goal for people to find the path of least resistance towards what it is they want to do? If they end up leading an unordinary life because of that, then that's fine - but I don't feel like one needs to actively try to instill chaos in their daily routine just for the sake of it.

>>8 I actually prefer them in random. There's less people in random. Less people, calmer slower discussion. More people, i.e. Main, more chaos.
Anyway, I have nothing to say on the subject. It's a frustration I've come to terms with such a long time ago, it's not even relevant for me anymore. It's true yean, but I know it's all in my hands so there's really no reason to complain if it's my fault.
15 Name: Kuro Mizo : 2011-11-27 15:57 ID:ufIxYl8I [Del]
I wouldn't try to change them, that's their own decision. But it'd be nice if they could step into my shoes for a change, and see that it's not so easy on my end either. If they can see that there's some similarity then I'm a happy camper :D! Other than that, they're free to do what they want and it's of no concern to me.

Say that to the kids in Afghanistan and Iraq not living an "ordinary life". If anything, those living an ordinary life are some of the most fortunate.
Plus, the reason you're living a so-called boring life is because you're not even making the effort to make it fun. You have no one to blame but yourself.

Nothing is really ordinary or normal because no one is the same and nothing plays out the same for each person. If you want different then go out and MAKE it different. Do something you normally wouldn't, change your routine or whatever. Nothing is ever ordinary if you have a strong imagination also.

The grass is always greener on the other side guys. Besides, ordinary is a point of view. Definition of ordinary:
adj.
1. Commonly encountered; usual.
n.
1. The usual or normal condition or course of events.
If you were, say, a professional skydiver, then jumping out of planes on a regular basis would be a pretty ordinary life for you. The ordinary most of you would think of is but one of a million possible ordinaries. Now then, I have to go do my ordinary homework which involves an ordinary presentation about the cultural society of Singapore. NOW WITH ADDED PRESERVATIVES

You know, I doubt that there is a boring life out there. There might be people that aren't where they'd like to be, let's say that they are currently working in a store rather then doing something else that they really wish they'd be doing (skydiving has been mentioned, but even more normal stuff, being a mechanic, a surgeon, an engineer).
If that is the case, they truly have only them selves to blame. Hit those books, take those classes, save some money and go back to school for that degree. Only you know what you want to do for the rest of your life, or just for the next 5 to 10 years -just don't jump from field to field, try to use your prior training, even if just a little for your next life project- . There is very little out there that feels better then that of being accomplished. Honestly, if I progress in my chosen field, I wouldn't need any more crazy in my life, yes vacations and trips every now and then would be fun, and I look forward to them, but what I'm trying to say is, don't let someone else's version of a good life, cloud what could be an amazing life for you.

The only way to make life more exciting is by forcing it to be interesting. How? that is your decision, it is the only way that i think that life will be interesting is if you make it to be, or just enjoy your current life, it is your choice.

Whats wrong with living an ordinary life?
I'm more than happy with my life right now. Going to school every day, doing the same thing, day after day. I don't mind. Hell, I wouldn't mind being a housewife and never going anywhere for the rest of my life as long as I would be healthy and safe... It just doesn't seem to me as horrible as you guys make it out to be.

An ordinary life... Yes it does upset me, I hate where my life is going. School, work, eat, internet, sleep. Repeat, Repeat, Repeat. It is all in our own hands though, personally I'm waiting to grow up a bit more, get outta school. Then do some crazy shit. Make myself known worldwide. Idk. Somehow. A kid can dream right?

Actually, living an ordinary life has made me paranoid enough.
Sure I would feel bored occasionally, but from outsider sight maybe my ordinary life wasn't so ordinary at all. That's why I want to try to enjoy it.

If you're truly bored with "ordinary life" then write down the things/hobbies you truly want to pursue that may be out of the ordinary. Then, determine what the obstacles are and develop a plan to eradicate those obstacles.

I think that if you really want an interesting life, you should first define what you consider "ordinary" about your life, and then list things you could do that are interesting. Having a bucket list is a good idea. Or a "things to do before age 20" list. That may just be me however, who likes to make lists. :3
Also, interesting people have interesting lives. And you can become more interesting as a person, not only by thinking deeply about things and creating your own unique opinions and ideas, but by trying lots and lots of new things. A good idea for that is just to do things that sound interesting, even if you don't feel like it or aren't interested at first. (Try watching the movie Yes Man, it motivated me. :P)
The more different things you things you do, the more experience you gain and the more well-rounded you become. That's what makes life more interesting.

But this is reality after all, but researching one person to another is truly fascinating. I guess the only one that able entertain me...are human itself

I, for one, can relate very much. That is why I am very observant of what occurs in my surroundings, trying to find something to entertain me in my monotonous life.
Though, as ordinary as some things may be, they are still enjoyable.
There is such a thing as being extraordinary. However, the risks for such a thing is very high.
In the end, life is ultimately up to one's self.

The truth is, that your life doesn't HAVE to be boring, the boring life is a blank canvas for you to paint your masterpiece on, it is your job to make your life exiting. You may be thinking, "but I can't it's impossible!" It's not. There are plenty of entertaining things to do in this world before you die. Considering that, death isn't necessarily a bad thing. For all we know, it is a new chapter of life, and it will be the best thing because it is something you have never experienced before. Whether that is the case or not, you should really enjoy your life. If death is a bad thing, then you should enjoy yourself to the end, if it happened to be a good thing, then you should enjoy your life anyways, that way you would get a bonus!

Surely, if we are all here, then we are hardly ordinary. Us, the Dollars, are far from ordinary. We've chosen to make our lives and to do something interesting with them and make a difference to the world. Those who want to 'fit in' and be 'ordinary' are kidding themselves, because no-one is ordinary, we are all different and have equally interesting and amazing lives because of what we like and choose to do. Everything starts off in black and white only to be colored in and created into something amazing and beautiful.

I've thought about that many times. My life is the most boring ever : waking up, going to school, back home. Sometimes I wonder, what am I supposed to do to have a signifiant life ? I have to do something about my life but what ? I don't want to be useless, it's like a certain pride, you know. Well, I'm still young so I shouldn't be too much worry about that, for the moment.

Buenos noches, everyone.
I was reading this post and I have mixed feelings after I was done.
First off, there is no "Black White" kaka.
Its not real. People must open eyes to see the world and realize that where they are at is good enough.
I grew up in the bad parts of the world. I am the daughter of the poor and the heir to the violent.
I am trying to say is that, maybe it would be better not to see the world as something else.
Like, the world is as horrible as horrible would be.
My question is, why not stay in your guy's safe bubble?
Reality should be as much as a person can handle so that they feel safe, si?
I no say that DON'T venture into the not safe bubble parts and stay there.
Just take a moment to see the shit work we live in and then turn on it and build the walls higher and stronger around the bubble to protect it.
What a chica/o would see could possibly hurt them. so wait until older.
Gracias.
