I was thinking we could make a "Dollars" facebook group (not like page). It would be kind of like this, except posting things on facebook as well. I mean, we would keep in contact with each other and meet or add fellow Dollars. Good idea? If so, should I make one? Or is there one legitely made?

though the idea for this website is from *drrr!!*, i think the dollars is still a social network service of its own. im not againts recruiting new dollar members in facebook, but to make an appearance as a group there, is kinda contradicting this websites meaning. instead we should develope this sites´ network functions to keep in contact or communicate.

Hey I have a suggestion for the facebook page. I think maybe we should write what our group is about in the description. That way anyone who is invited or stumbles across out page knows what we are about and will want to join.

Make one that sounds like fun

Having a Facebook group seems like a good idea but it defeats the purpose of this site. Plus on Facebook people will join for the hell of it making it look like just a fan page or worse just another random crappy group on Facebook.

People would just post photos or videos of Durarara and not even care of what it's about. I should know because I already joined the Dollars in Facebook and thats what they do. In fact I put that as were I work.

I think its pretty sad how many people are wanting to join this. This is a *secret* organization, why make it public on facebook? unless it is a completely closed off group, but still, how can you tell the dollars members from the non dollars members?
I wish that this hadn't already started, but it appears that I'm much too late.

If it's a closed group and you have to be invited/ask to join, then I don't see why people shouldn't want to join, especially if it will help them connect to other Dollars more easily, and get messages about certain things out more quickly than having to keep a thread bumped up on the main page.

At first I was thinking about posting on FB about this experience but then I thought about all the times I've argued the case for anonymity. I think people are more truthful w/out the pressures of super ego or what we refer to as peer pressure. FB would take take away the purity of this endeavor. We are a solid state society not because we're from the same place, same ethnicity or other common denominator that is usually forced upon us w/out our consent or want and do little for us in the grand scheme of things. We are not a brand name...we are here b/c we care. We choose to never let go of the emotions that we are blessed enough to be able to express and embrace whether they be happiness, sadness, regret, anger...that is true enlightenment. It's a funny thing...I've always found that truth most earnestly exists in fiction. Think of comedians and satire. Whenever comedy makes us really bust a gut laughing it's when it's riddle with mirror images of our own truths or the ones we observe in the world around us. I would propose rather than contributing to a Dollars FB page...we contribute, promote or like Ralph Nader's page. He is man that has dedicated his life in service of the people. There was a time when the people of this country were less self-involved and the media was completely owned by corporations. People would send him thousands of letters a day for help. But b/c he fights for consumer protection and holds our politicians accountable they tear him apart. Support those who support you.

Well, I would like one, but the problem is. Facebook is a public area. Almost anyone can do anything on there. Nothing on facebook is private no matter what you do. Each person interprets the Dollars in a different way. The main focus of it is to incentive people to do good things, but why only anonymously? If someone asks me, irl, if I'm a Dollar, I won't hesitate to say I am.
Besides, what kind of person looks through others' Facebook Groups, unless they're a stalker?

Many/most people here speak English. This is an English website, after all. I don't see why language would be a big deal.

my idea
the main group in which we are all a part of is called "Dollars"
and since there are a lot of groups in fb and such sites also called dollars etc, they could be made into dollar branches called "cents"
so that dollar members who are close to each other can keep in contact with each other better since this site is huge and the members are all scattered throughout the world, having this "cents" should help us organize..that and each state/country should have their own dollar group on fb for this

So if I wish to participate on the Dollars FB group, and "expose my identity as a Dollars member", I definitely have the right to do so. After all, anyone can join the Dollars, so we don't have to hide it.
And who are we kidding, the chances of anyone checking the groups you are in on Facebook, looking up our website(Which they will most likely not even know about and think is a Facebook thing), Googleing our password and messing up our boards, is extremely low. If anything, the highest possibility of someone entering our website after discovering the Facebook group is if they were interested in it.
So please be realistic here. It brings no problems.

A little late I think. There's multiple Dollars sites ans even more pages on Facebook for the Dollars. Just drop it all or join an existing one. You all forget, we're transparent. To all members, try to keep it that way.

The whole Facebook page would be taken over my random people that are not in the Dollar's group. Personally it would be a waste in time building the page. The reason why there is none because dumb people troll the pages and also leave nasty comments about us.

Also I agree with Nerouu we are transparent we do not exist to the world but we hare here and we will stay! No one can hold us from the world and all it's information that can be passed to someone else.

Who are you guys to say who's worthy or not of the Dollars. The rules themselves say anyone is welcome.
The way to solve people joining the facebook group who aren't in the Dollars is having them ask HERE first.
I think none of your arguments are different or make sense. All you say is "we are colorless", but since when does that mean we can't have a goddamned facebook group. We have a WEBSITE, if that isn't enough being on the public. Almost anyone who's heard of the Dollars and is interested on the group will look it up.
So what is the LEGIT reason against it? I mean, I've already played my cards up there, not gonna retype the same thing over again like you guys are doing.
Just list a single good reason for the group being a bad idea.

Not a good idea. This site is meant to be anonymous, the only way to enter is by getting the password from someone else.

Facebook's a large mean of communication that could lead to the perversion of our idea of good-doers.

But well you can do what you want. Im not fiercely opposed to it neither, just try to keep being active in here.

It's not about being mainstream or not mainstream. It's about standing for what the Dollars are about and making sure we uphold what we're standing for in the first place. Yes we are supposed to be anonymous, but there are some ways that we could communicate to each other even over long distances. We just have to find the ones that work the best and make sure to spread the word through the website to the other members. Being a Dollar comes first in making things happen.
