Why do humans continue to live while they destroy everything they toutch?

2 Name: Misuto : 2011-05-31 17:51 ID:sDB7lUF5 [Del]

Going under the assumption that humans do, in fact, destroy everything they touch, I would guess that it would be for exactly that reason they continue to live. Despite destroying everything, including their obstacles, they are able to move past it and continue on with their life. They're arguably the most adaptable creatures (aside from bacteria and some bugs) in the world, you know.

Without assuming this though, what makes you say that they do destroy everything they touch? I was under the impression they create as much as they destroy - it's just that the latter is played up more by people unwilling to accept that progress cannot occur without sacrifice.

we haven't just created outward, but inward as well. without humans, we wouldn't have fiction, and as far as im concerned everything else is just an after thought.

and i get the feeling Dr. Zavulon is an anti-spiral hehe

“Why do humans continue to live while they destroy everything they [touch]?”

It is the natural order of things, chaos is favored over order, and we who spread disorder are thus favored within the universe. It takes more energy to attain order than it does to convert to disorder and so while we do create, we do more to destroy, and what we don’t destroy will be destroyed by time. So in essence we don't really destroy anything we are just a catalyst that speeds up the process.

The question is quite interesting to say the least, but it is the wrong question, we do necessarily destroy everything we touch, but more often consume. We consume to live and we live to consume, it's the paradox that is our nature.

And out of curiosity, since (if) you are human, are you not adequately qualified to answer this question yourself?

Because they have nothing better to do, and they don't see it that way. Technically, when we drink waters in water bottles, we kill thousands of people who are unable to drink potable water because of corporate ownership. Or every time we drive we pollute the air. Every time we throw trash we are placing a hazard in the environment. Every time we use electricity, or electrical appliances (unless hand held, or unless they are powered by solar panels) we are destroying. At this point, it's become so dependent, that if, someday, if something were to disable the things we have now, people would surely suck at trying to continue living their lives

9 Name: DementedlySane : 2011-05-31 22:50 ID:zLp8t0Lq [Del]

>>8 Part true, part false. Not because 'they have nothing better to do, and they don't see it that way,' it is more of 'don't know and don't care if it doesn't affect me,' and we don't kill thousands of people because of corporate ownership. I know whoever is reading thinks I am naive at this point, but I am right. As long as they have something of value, corps won’t kill them off/ let them die until they have nothing left to give. This could be money or labor and it is an ideal market because they do not have to pay transportation fees to have the water/product shipped to the consumer market, since it is right at their door.

Your point about electricity is also off, because take nuclear energy, how are we destroying that? It decomposes over time due to radioactive decay, and we only harness that as a power source and speed up the decay in the process, and we contain the waste anyways (sometimes released by a natural disaster, but the effect can be liken to a volcano erupting, it may not happen often, but it will naturally occur from time to time) hydroelectric generators just harness power from current, turbines from wind, batteries from two solutions that do not serve nature much by any means, etc... If you’re referring to the power consumed, keep in mind that energy, like matter, cannot be create or destroyed.

very interesting.
have you thought of, that we cannot only destroy objects, but also souls? will? life?
it actually is easy to break a person.
even easyer to break an animal.
this is what i find alot scaryer.

I have observed that it is a result of fear. I am afraid of the slightest end result being bad or hurting my feelings, therefore, I destroy the entire possibility of the occurrence. As humans, we ant quick fixes and easy answers. The truth is, there aren't any. At least, no way to do it patiently. Destruction is fast and easy. Instant gratification. That's a human beings most volatile weapon...

Most humans don't even notice that they are, even if they try to do something good, they are doing something bad in the process and don't even know it. If they knew that they were destroying our world, I can't even describe what would happen, but something even worse then them not knowing about their bad deeds.
I find this post to be interesting so BUMP

I think humans are somewhat of an invasive species. Think about it. We take down forests and marshlands to build houses, fields and cities, destroying the natural environment of other species for ourselves. Look at the Amur Leopard in Russia. It is now on the critically endangered list with less than 40 specimens thought to exist in the wild. This was not because of natural selection, these leopards were driven to this by poaching, deforestation, and development projects, in other words, humans. Humans have caused the extinction of so many species, though they have also saved a number, and many of those species could still be around today if not for human influence. Another prime example is the Thylacine, or Tasmanian Tiger.

So i am very sorry to say that i am leaving the dollars. It was alot of fun when I was apart of the dollars, so good-bye.

The human species is severly overpopulated. A lot of what we do is rather unnecessary, but we would be destroying things either way. In reality, you have to destroy to gain. Get rid of any naiive, weaboo beliefs any of you may have thanks to anime, because this is a basic fact of life. You can't get energy without killing a plant or animal. You can't breathe without taking oxygen from the air and putting carbon dioxide back into it. The key is to live in harmony with everything else and let Earth maintain it's own little homeostasis. We don't do that very well, and we destroy more than is necessary, but you can't change the fact that every species also destroys.

the short answer is that no one cares about what effect their actions have on others or their environment, as long as the're comfortable and happy nothing really matters...

Most of humanity follows the rulers of life and death. They decide to do all they can to be happy, but then not care about their next generations. But none of us pay attention to that, we all just want to live. I'm hoping we can maybe at least put a bigger dent in that with this generation. Only a selected amount of people really notice this. We humans need to take a good look at the world and realize we are only human, but that's what makes us powerful. We can stop all the damage we have caused, ranging from global warming all the way to vandalizing to even murders out there. We are human. We can stop this. We just need to look at the bigger picture, and not just our selves. We humans destroy everything we touch. Not on purpose, but just because we are blind to the damage it causes till it actually effects us. But after we realize the mistakes we make, we alway try to piece it back together, because that's how we humans are. We break and create new.

38 Name: Altair : 2014-10-10 18:23 ID:7GeFfpX+ [Del]

we may destroy but we also create. we make connections with the ones we love, we create art, music, revolutions, great foods, medicine etc. we mess up a lot sure ,but you can't look at humanity based on just the bad parts like war, you must look at it as a whole. We Human are capable of both creation and destruction. I mean we made anime didn't we?

41 Name: AkiraSNS : 2014-10-11 03:04 ID:BpscziGZ [Del]

Humans destroy because they feel that they have to. Destroying the world and environment is the way society works. Humans feel that they are above the laws the of nature because we feel that we are the superior species. Humans are captives of a civilizational system that more or less compels us to go on destroying the world in order to live.

42 Name: Chi-chan : 2014-10-11 03:29 ID:jp5cpai7 [Del]

That was a rather ambigous questions...well, Let's see. Not all humans are all that bad you know? The fact of human destroy things are true, but they only did that in order to survive, althought they are some type of humans that destroy things because they feel powerful and righteous. But without destruction, humans can't creature something new, and they can't survive.

For example, without the cutting of logs and trees, they can't create a thing called 'paper'. Without the existence of corruptor and criminals, police won't be able to gain money for living. That's how the wheel of life run it wheels. These phenomenon will keep repeating until the end of the world.
