So im just now finishing "The Inheritance cycle by Christopher Paolini" and its my first time reading and finishing a novel series(outside of manga) and id like to have something to move forward too. Id like something relating to the title if possible. 3-4 length series and standalones are welcome. Im not into The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, or Game of Thrones. Ive seen HP and LOTR and I put down GoT, just not into reading them. If it helps the only other "Novel" ive read is Dragon Rider by Cornelia Funke. To add a specific thing i like about The Cycle is Eragon and Saphrias relationship, as well as the dragons themselves, are not "animals." I realize i may be very picky i blame my shot attention span for that.

My favorite fantasy series is The Legend of Drizzt. It's a very, very long series but it's absolutely worth the time. If you decide to give it a try, make sure to research it first. It's divided into multiple mini series, so make sure to read it in the correct order (Homeland is the first book chronologically).
