This never ending ocean of turmoil drowns me, and every night as I close my eyes it's as if I'm resurfacing to take another breath.

But why do I even bother to fill my lungs with the dreams that give me life, when the only out come is for me to breath them out again into the deep ocean blue?

I can only watch as they float away from me in their small pockets of air, escaping from the cruel reality where I lay at bay.

My hand reaches out to them, to capture them, but only dismembers the air bubbles into smaller clones of it's self.

The cold water swirls around me, engulfing my very being.

I am nothing compared to the wide ocean, I sustain nothing, no life hides within my fleshy walls.

I'm just me inside, and there's nothing else.

Even so, somewhere inside of me there's a small amber, flame resting on the end of a candle's wick.

Without anything disturbing its existence, it thrives in a never ending cycle of heat, rushing inside my hollowed out soul, twisting and turning,
looking for a way to end it all.

If only there was a crack in the foundation, water would come rushing in to flood the house, achieving the flame's burning desire to be reduced to nothing but ashes.

Sadly though there isn't a crack in the foundation.

Sadly the flame will burn forever, until the universe collapses in on it's over expanded self.

Sadly the person in which the flame resides, will swim in her watery prison until a scorching heat dries out all the water.

Sadly she doesn't know that she contains that very heat.

Sadly she is her own demise and her own construction.

Sadly is reality.

This is such a thought provoking writing, are you aiming to make it poetry or a story of sorts?
