Interview with Hummingbird (what do you think guys?) (1)

1 Name: Bq. : 2015-01-18 08:20 ID:mfuRKCAL [Del]

*Hummingbird symbolizes the past

Hummingbird – the smallest bird in the world. Because of his extraordinary speed, it may stagnate in the air or fly backwards. A bird, which never stops.

He is similar to the past. A Past, which from beginning of time has never stopped. Was not suspended by any moment. Twenty times per second, thats how fast this tiny birds heart beats. Once upon a time, just twenty people died per second, or only twenty trees were cut down and even the end of the world had been approaching very slowly

Each epoch of history is important in its own way, with its specific conception of time, different values, the environment and self-esteem. I want to discuss what the man was like in the past and what he has taught a modern man. Also I will try to find dramatic values turning point, after which we started the hummingbird hunt.

Stone Age. This simple primitive man has taught us to Create and Look up. He did not know anything, everything seemed strange to him - even himself, but the man was not afraid and so he began to take the first steps to build first homes, cities, civilizations. Aztecs, Mayans, Incas - these civilizations tell us about homosapiens feats of his discoveries and creations. Perfect creations - language and script. By searching, they discovered a way to grow food, tame animals and control fire. They were so brave, that even created Gods and taught other people to believe in them. But today, humans try to create Gods themselfs. Creation has become destruction. Forests are chainsawed, the oceans are stripmined of their fish, the rivers are polluted. And we are looking only for ways to make a profit. Greed rules our desire to search. We want to recieve, rather than to create. Find but not to look.

Age of Enlightenment. Sensuous and thoughtful man taught us to be Free and to Love. A period when people rebelled against dictatorship and began a revolts for freedom. The fight would be lost if not the people who shared their love for each other, the desire to live in a liberal society. The Great French Revolution tells us about people, who made sacrifices for the sake of others. And today people are fighting against each other for power, resources, money. America has been conflicting with Syria, which has a lot of oil or Russia invading territory of Ukraine, which has one of the largest mineral mines. People are not free, they are constrained by their greed, society instructions to be consumers, warriors, puppets. We forgot how to love people, now computers, fame and luxurious life are things, that we are ready to die for. To love and to live in freedom, today is - use and belong.

Nowadays past is endangered species. Species whose hunting will end soon. We have almost reached our goal- when we will reach a point after which the past no longer exists neither will we.

We humans have always thought ourselves different in kind from other creatures, principally for our use of language and our possession of consciousness, but there is another reason for our uniqueness, which is becoming clearer: we are the only species capable of destroying our own home. And it looks like we will.
