This is actually one of my favorite HORROR and Mistique books. Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark is illustrated by Stephen Gammel with really creepy illustrations, it gives more effect of a horror. Some stories are which need jumpscares (lol), but some stories are enough to scare you even without a jumpscare. The stories are written by Alvin Schwartz, collected from Folklore.

i didnt find them scary. i read these at a young age and thought they were good storied but not scary.

I loved the illustrations, Stephen Gammel is great at macabre. Sadly they are reprinting these with different illustrations.
