Hamlet or Macbeth (4)

I'd just like to know if people liked Hamlet or Macbeth better (just personal preference). If possible I'd also like to know the reason why.

Macbeth. I as an actress have played Lady Macbeth and so I have a personal connection to it. I feel like Hamlet is over done and Macbeth is far too underrated. But my favorite Shakespeare show is King Lear

Hamlet. Definitely. His inability to accept change and the mental strain placed on him following his father's death are two of my favorite topics of conversation. I remember reading it for the first time when I was working as a library aide and I haven't been able to put Shakespeare down ever since. Also, some of monologues from the story, to this day, make me cry like a small child because they hit pretty close to home but that's just me.

Also, I have never found an adaptation that I haven't liked. I especially enjoy when they play up his mental instability because it's so important to the story that you understand his insanity on some level.

As for Macbeth, it's definitely another of my favorites even if I choose Hamlet over it. I particularly like Lady Macbeth's part. I never got the chance to do a stage play of Macbeth but if I ever do, I would try out for Lady Macbeth's part in a heartbeat. Perhaps I'm just drawn to disturbed individuals.

I prefer Macbeth. First the name is cursed so that is cool right off the bat. Second it is a great way to show what can happen with power and the hope of power. If Macbeth had not hear from the witches that he would be king he would not have killed most of the people that he did. And the near the end where he fights the friends he has betrayed to keep the power that has corrupted him. Truly one of the greatest tragedies ever written.
However it is comparing gold to gold. With the incredible power of the written word that Shakespeare had I'm certain if he re-did Twilight it would be fairly decent if not good.
