The Girl And The Deer (1)

1 Name: Kiyuki : 2013-03-18 00:27 ID:ghjkNTgz [Del]

The soothing sound of trickling water filled the silence in the depth of the forest. Vivid green plant life flourished around the banks, the roots trying to reach as much as the ice cold water as they could. The thin stream rolled off over the smooth rocks, dropping into a pool of crystal clear water. A girl sat on a large, flat and smooth gray rock that leaned over the pooled water, staring down at her reflection with sad eyes. Her heart felt broken as though it could shatter and bleed from her chest and stain this lovely pool with a crimson red.

The clear image of her reflection upon the water's surface rippled as something broke the surface of the water. Glancing up, her eyes fell on a deer that had come to get a drink. The buck stood at the other end of the pool, magnificent antlers extending out from atop his head, the weight looking like it would be impossible for him to be able to lift his head again. The ear of the buck twitched as though it had heard the girl look at it, and he lifted his head up high to stare back at the girl with a strong gaze. The gaze of the buck was not so strong it frightened the girl, it was calm and sincere. She blinked slightly as she watched the buck slowly begin to walk over, it's dainty little hooves stepping into the shallow of the pool as it walked along the edge. Once it had stopped at the edge of the rock, they both stared for a long time, both staring into the others eyes, neither frightened nor intimidated by the other, just at a state of peace.

She shifted slightly, turning her body to face the buck. When the creature did not retreat, she moved closer, slowly and calmly, not wanting to scare away the one who had taken notice in her. As she reached out her hand, she felt the warm breath of the buck against her palm as she almost touched his snout. The buck sniffed at her hand, then with another step forward he pressed his snout into the palm of the girl's hand. The girl in returned let out a gasp as she felt the fine hairs of the creature touch her rough skin. A small smile spreading across her lips as she watched the buck. Shifting once more, she moved closer again and moved her hand down alongside the neck of the creature, admiring the feel of it's coarse fur. As her hand touched the shoulder of the animal, she lifted her other arm and wrapped her arms around the buck in a hug. The buck did not recoil or deny the girl's affection, he simply turned his head and nuzzled into the girl's hair, returning the show of affection.
