I'm actually surprised to know that there isn't a thread about this. I searched and didn't find anything on this book. Anyway, might as well make it now so people can know of this book.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower is a novel by Stephen Chbosky and is centered around a young high school freshman boy who goes by the alias "Charlie". Charlie writes letters to an anonymous person and in those letters he discusses the events that happen to him in his life and even the memories of his past. The novel makes a number of references to music, film and television, and other works of literature.

In my opinion, this was one of the best books I have read. I could relate to Charlie in that we are both wallflowers and I simply wish I could have read this book sooner. What are your thoughts on this novel?

It is an amazing book. I don't know what else to say other than it was the first book I read that made me realize small things can make you feel infinite.

Did the movie portray the novel well? I thought that Emma Watson was surprisingly perfect for the role.

I have yet to see the movie, but according to a friend, it's just as (or possibly better) than the book. I will eventually watch it, but as of now, Emma Watson as Sam is a surprise to me. I heard she was great, but I must see it to believe it.

I just read the book recently. It is a very cool book, and even if you're not a wallflower, you can relate to it.

I have to say this is the ONE instance where I like the movie better than the book. I know. for most book readers this is shocking. But seriously. The book makes me feel like the author is throwing way too many controversial topics in at once. It's like....an overload. I feel like the movie (which I know was directed by the author) cleans this up nicely and fixes the flow a little.

easily one of my favorite books
