'The Host' (by Stephenie Meyer) is about the alien souls who occupy human bodie's and life. They eventually take over the Earth, capturing humans and inserting their souls into the humans through their necks. They've said they're "helping humanity and creating a better world." But, there are still humans who are in hiding.

A sould named Wanderer or Wanda for short, has taken a stubborn human host named Melanie and is sure she/he/it has taken full control of her body. However, due to Melanie's strong will, Wana talks to Melanie through Melanie's thoughts that gets on her nerves. But Melanie has a favor to ask to Wanda. She wants to lead Wanda to the safety of the hidden underground human society. As time passes, Melanie and Wanda learn to live with each other, but Wanda comes to realize that she is developing and adopting Melanie's emotions and senses. She feels love for Jared, the person Melanie is in love with.

After many difficult obstacles and challenges, Wanda tries to cope with her new feelings and senses. She learns that out of the planets and speicies she's lived as, the human race has surely been her toughest assignment.

I highly recomend this book for many reasons, one is that, even though I HATE Twilight, Stephenie Meyer really made this interesting to non-Twilight fans. My second reason is that this book is multi-genre. From Sci-fi to Romance, she made it interesting and made me want to continue reading it. It keeps you wanting more and more, it just makes you seem crazy for liking a book so much! This book isn't like one of those corny romance novels, it's full of suspense and makes you think about life. Would you follow orders? Or follow your happiness?

Oh! My friends were obsessed with that book! I would check it out, but it's always gone from the library, lol.

I have to say this is a pretty good book. I thought Wanda was a weak character but Melanie made up for that. I loved most of the characters in this book, except for Wanda.
