Meal Prep (3)

So I've been trying to figure out how to prep my meals so I'm not always spending money on fast food but I can't think of a way to start. Would it be easier to do it for just Lunch or should I plan for Lunch and Dinner? Also I'm interested if anyone has ideas for different types of recipes.

Well hello there! It's nice to see someone interested in this sort of thing. :)
You could begin with lunch, yes, or you could simply do a large amount of prep, and if you have a lot of fridge/freezer space, put your ingredients away and make all your meals. Very quickly.

That may sound intimidating. Let me explain. :)

So essentially, there are a few ways you could start, but it would be easy to think about what kind of food you like to eat, what kind of food you need to eat, and what kind of food you can make easily. For instance, if you need more vegetables in your diet, you can cook a large amount of squash, say, and then freeze it... When you want something very quick for breakfast, you can pop in your squash and blend it into a smoothie... Or you can cook some up for dinner with rice and green vegetables. :)
An easy way to do it might also be to prepare, say, a large amount of chicken in one day, and freeze it. You can cube it first or leave it for whatever way you want to cook.
There's also microwave cooking, if you're okay with that sort of thing.
Ah, and as for ingredients- you can often find sales on things, so maybe if you arrange your schedule so you can get to the sales on some occasions, you can help with your budget this way.
Ask more questions if you feel like it! :D :) I'll check back in from time to time.

In this scenario, I would suggest starting with lunch first. Lunch would be generally easy to prepare, it doesn't have to be complex. Plus, starting with only one would be a good strategy if you haven't cooked before. If you use Chipsa's strategy, you might be able to do a lunch and dinner right from the start. Personally, I get super stressed out when planning more than one meal at a time because for me they have to be themed and super complex and all that, but maybe that's just me.
