Strange food? (4)

I suppose I've just grown used to how things are- but seriously? I always figured the US had normal food- despite the ridiculous food portions. Do they really not have biscuits and gravy in other countries?! Or Mayonnaise?
..but really you have to look at the link to understand what I'm talking about haha.

I'm not really sure where you're going with this thread.

I'm stuck between "JESUS FUCK THAT BLOG IS KINDA RACIST" and "this thread is kinda stupid".

On a more serious note, I don't really understand what you mean by "normal" food. If by "normal" you mean food that's well known to people in America, well it's kind of obvious that every country will have it's own distinct food and drink that's unique to itself.

Just because someone from a different country has different food doesn't mean that they're weird, they're just different.

If we take the example "biscuits and gravy", in the UK, biscuits as a term means something different from the "biscuits" you would find in the US. The entire idea of "biscuits and gravy" would seem entirely alien from another country's perspective as well.

Basically, I don't understand what this thread is trying to say.

Basically I was just commenting on something interesting I found on the internet related to food- which is what this tab is about. And in case you didn't read the post I wasn't the one who called any nation's food strange- the author of the article was.

And yeah every nation has their own style of food- that doesn't mean it's well known. These foods are "normal" because they are what I grew up with- and every foreigner I have met so far (which is quite a few.) didn't seem surprised or repulsed by any of these foods.

Let me just say meatloaf that we have in the US is just a lower class terrine. (A terrine is a (and I believe it is french) smooth meatloaf with booze). The texture is a bit weird.
Jerk seasoning (the wet version) is just Jamaican BBQ sauce.
