I'd say my personal favourite is a tie between Shokugeki No Souma, and Assassination Classroom. The art in Shokugeki No Souma is amazing, and the plot/character development in Assassination Classroom is practically unmatched. Not to mention that both are original, and unique in more ways than just plot.

My favorite manga has to be Rosario Vampire, I first watched the anime and was not very impressed. However when I borrowed a copy of the manga from a friend I got hooked instantly, It has amazing and delivered everything I had wanted the show to have.
