Hello, Nuko-Neko!
Comics are my greatest passion, and I have come across many that really resonate with me. My #1 pick from all comics would have to be Empowered by Adam Warren.
I admit at first glance it appears to be an erotic comic, but as the plot moves on the characters really develop and a world of its own is made. This world is commonly referred to as the "Empverse". Essentially it's a setting in which there is an established community of superheroes and villains, called the suprahuman community. The titular character, Empowered, is a superheroine who is constantly put down by super villains, the public, and most of all by her own "hero" peers. Despite this, she moves forward to live her lifelong dream of being a superheroine.
Throughout the series Warren brings brilliant humor and dramatic plot lines alike. The format is OEL, or Original English Language, manga. It's released in a series of graphic novels, with unfortunately long gaps in between.
