Ghost in the Shell 2 Man Machine Interface is about Motoko Aramaki who is a hyper advance cyborg. The story takes place in the year 2035 and she is a counter-terriorist Net security expert heading the investigative department of the giant multinational Poseidon Industrial. Partly transcending the physical world and the existing in a virtual world of networks, Motoko is a fusion of multiple entities and identities deploying remotely controlled prosthetic humanoid surrogates around the globe to investigate a series of bizarre incidents. Meanwhile, Tamki Tamai, a psychic detective from the Channeling Agency, has been commissioned to explore strange changes in the temporal universe brought about by two forces, one represented by the teachings of a professor named Rahampol, the other by the complex, evolving Motoko entity.

I like the Ghost in the Shell series (Manga, TV series, and movies), but I didn't particularly like Man Machine Interface. I found it hard to understand and many of the panels where just there to please the male readers.

I was wondering what anyone else thought of this manga and that maybe they could explain some of the ideas and themes behind Man Machine Interface. Though if you have nothing better to do I suggest you read it because despite some flaws it is still a pretty good read.
