But yeah, if a person creates a good thread with the intention of sharing the artist or seeing if anyone else listens to them then fails to also link it in a relevant genre thread(s), that's ultimately their loss. It's also not like someone else who finds it can't post it either, so there's still plenty of chance it will end up there.

There are many threads that are popular and just get thrown in the trash (figuratively) as they're bumped to the bottom and forgotten about. You're implying that people will find them again.

Take your Chevelle Thread for Instance. Or your 30 Seconds to Mars. Both popular bands for people that listen to that genre. Completely lost to the world.

Even popular bands like Papa Roach have had dupes because people aren't finding the originals. Granted it's their fault, but it being their fault just proves that we can't put the trust in these people to find things.

Not that there's anything wrong with being new to the site and not knowing what's going on. We've all been there. However, they're new. In my experience, sites that operate like this one aren't the most popular thing. Therefor, you'll have to hold their hands and make it easier on them. The more user friendly this site is to find things, the less issues that we get. Like the mess that is the Music Board.

The music board is generally bad because it's not something most of the BBS is super into. Over the last couple of years, there've been a few dedicated users that have kept the place generally clean. Most of them are gone now, and the board's suffering because of it.

My point being, the board's not necessarily messy because of the way it's set up. I reckon restricting everything to genre threads would be... well, restrictive.

Anyway, if finding interesting shit to listen to is what you want, The Music Discovery thread exists, and is pretty extensive.

I don't really watch anime much anime, though I still like it, so I don't go in there as much. Hell, I never visited the Anime board beyond a glimpse or two.

I'm not as bothered by the Literature Board because I have other methods that I enjoy to find new books. Granted, when I was an anime junkie I had other methods that I liked to find new anime as well.

All-in-all for these two threads, would I like if for the issue to be resolved? Very much so. However, I don't frequent them enough to get really upset about it.

As for every other thread, I don't go there. Is it an issue? Quite. However, you really can't expect me to go that far on many of these boards. I don't even know if the current people that people are obsessing over are MMA, wrestling, boxing, or whatever the fuck the current sports thingy is. Who's John Ceena? How can you tell the difference between MMA and Wrestling? How about MMA and the different martial arts?

The same goes for anime. What's Shounen? How is it not Shounen-ai? How is SHounen-ai not yaoi? What's Shoujen?

tl;dr- These are issues on all of the boards, but not issues that I can fix. Because I really can't tell the difference between any of this shit. I'm pretty sure half the crap I said just proves that.

It's a problem everywhere, so let's approach it as a problem everywhere and see what we can do about that. If the problem is "people don't listen to rules", this probably won't change much. If the problem is "low quality OPs suck", talk with Reltair and/or the community at large regarding what constitutes OP validity. If the problem is "I can't find what I want", ask for fucking help. Again, we have several Music Recommendations threads.

I wouldn't mind going on the genre thread link idea if we have to, but the more I dissect this issue, the sillier it sounds, and I don't see any reason to single out the Music board when the actual problems you're singling out aren't any better or worse on many of the other boards.

Anyway, on the topic of the music board, I feel that it's a different case than most others. Music and literature should both be cleaned up by genre imo. When it comes to anime, comics, films, etc. there are a limited number of them released each year. But writers and musicians are constantly pumping out new work that floods the boards in a non-functional way.

And unless you already know what you're looking for, the only threads that are relevant to someone visiting those boards are the first ten. There are just so many different songs and artists that looking through every interesting sounding title in the archives isn't reasonable. But if you have them kept together in genre-relevant threads, someone can scroll through one page and get information on bands in their favorite genres.

It's not as if there can't be discussion threads for particular bands or songs that have been popular on the board. It's just that making one for every single artist you like without even knowing if there's demand over them is causing tons of empty threads in Music, and those empty threads are further encouraging new members to make duplicates, etc.

And again, I don't mind going through the genre thread transition if I have to. Also wanna reiterate that threads over one single song have essentially always been permasaged on Music, and for good reason.

...are people doing this? I haven't noticed it. I feel like the primary example here would be me and my 30-something threads, but I only ever make one if I've heard an easy majority (like, at least 75%) of the artist's discography and have enough info, more or less by memory, for there to warrant the creation of a detailed thread. It's far from "every single artist [I] like", and if that can't apply to me, it certainly doesn't apply to most other people on there. Over the course of 4 years, 24 artist-specific threads really only equates to 6 a year, or one by me every two months, which is hardly an overload.

I also don't see how posting detailed threads that happen to not get as many responses as some others encourages members to make duplicates. I guess just the fact that the constant threads that get dupes anyway (mostly J-something) would be bumped down by said new thread? That's likely not going to stop happening regardless, so I don't quite get the logic with that. :|

It's not about the number of responses specifically but rather about the nature of those threads in the first place, with the limited number of responses they get being a result.

If genre and discussion threads are on the first page rather than band/album ones, those users may be more inclined to post their recommendations as comments rather than threads. The same logic applies to every board and is why things get especially flooded if containment threads get bumped down. It's the difference between Missions when the SMT is and isn't actively bumped, for example.

Now it's less about good threads about being bumped down as much as it is about threads not getting much discussion. After all, sites like this are for discussions. You create a thread, you want to talk about it. But then the topics of the thread don't get discussed because EVERYONE else has the same idea and it gets bumped off. Also like Bob said, the top ten aren't relevant, so once your thread is off, it's gone for good unless you continuously bump it. However, with how quickly the thread gets bumped off, bumping it that often gets spammy.

Random Thought: Is going to the beach goth? Burning yourself on purpose, while surrounded by a pool of death seems goth to me. It's even more goth if you build sand castles and demolish them to symbolize the way your soul feels.

I'm at the beach right now and it's just so horrible. I mean one they kept trying to force me to go into the deeper water. I'm really happy. I only have three questions left to answer for my English homework. I still have math homework, but it's no big deal.

My family has been making fun of me this summer, because I didn't really do anything, but at the end of the day I feel really good about myself for not giving up when I could have easily done average work.

Sorry for cutting in your conversation people. I usually don't comment on this thread but I have an idea and wanted people's opinion about this before putting it on a mission board.

I have thought out a way to help university/college students to pay their fees or people who are broke and needed money for paying morgages and stuff or when one of us started a business and needed money for the rental and equipments. Its the same thing as fundraising but only on this site, since we can't really help everyone, so more like donating.

Different countries have different currency, so here's the thing:
*Each countries makes one bank account dedicated only for dollars, not a personal one. So whoevers willing to donate $20, $50, $100 or 2% of your monthly wage goes to that bank account.
*Each country has to choose a representative to hold money, who wouldn't try to steal the money for he/she self. I was thinking like to make the admins hold the account since they're the most trustful.
*When a person needed a money, we can help him/her but he/she needs to give us a proof why he/she desperately need it

This idea have alot of problems, and I'm planning to implement more rules to it, people can you please help me do that. And tell me what you think.

I thought I made friends for the first time in my life, but it's like jenga of the addicts. Fucking hell, it's out of control. I can either see where this ends up, or cut my ties now. I can't say for certain what I want to do, but it's eating at me.

I spent most of my day with my dad and he bought me Vans and Doc Martens. It was such a cool day and sometimes I wish my mom and dad had stayed together, but I guess things happen for a reason. Tbh, they don't even act like they ever broke up, they act still like a couple. I love it when they're together.

Such a fun day. Lol, when we went to the shoe store, my mom was like, "I am not asking the guy for your shoe size. Do it yourself." So I did, but when my dad called the guy over, I froze and my parents were staring at me until I finally asked the guy for my size and while the guy was still there my dad was like, "Aww, I didn't know you had a boyfriend." Lol, so embarrassing...but funny. So my dad kept referring to that guy as my boyfriend even at one point saying, my future husband. So then my dad asked the guy what age he was and he said 17 and my dad said, "Look, he's nice and in your age group. I can hook you up with him." This is the same dad who says I cannot date anyone =/ It was weird, but sad, too. The boy told us about himself and it was really sad. Like he saved his dad from dying and some other really sad stuff. =(

After he bought me the shoes, my mom was driving him back home and they started talking about life before me. So apparently I was supposed to be conceived today (like they purposely planned my birthday to be on his birthday). It was gross. I never want to think about what they said. Ew.

My dad is like actually really funny. I do love just being with my mom cuz that's what I'm used to, but being with both of them is pretty cool, too. Even my mom said that my dad is clearly happier when he's with us. =)

So that's how my life is going (minus the stress of homework). Pretty good.

Awesome, a teenage girl is thinking about sex when she sees a dead guy. That makes SO much sense. Like honestly. Yup. Dead man seen by teenage girl = sex. Yes, that is totally what the short story is about. Like 10/10 he was totally on point. He's saying when you realize death that you've grown up, thus, you're learning about sex, too. I really don't see how they go together. I guess I'm really stupid. I hate/love english so much.

I love it because you know there are some really amazing stories out there as well as discussing how they affect the time period they were written in/what they are trying to signify. It's also cool cuz you know you can write stuff, but the sucky thing is exactly those two things I just mentioned. You usually have to interpret it the way the TEACHER interprets it or else you're stupid. When you write stuff the TEACHER has to agree with it and that's totally biased.

So there's this question I'm stuck on in math and I've tried very hard to figure it out (and I feel pretty stupid, because it looks so simple, plus how do you forget everything you learned just months ago!!!). So I asked my friends and they gave me the same answer I saw online, but see I don't understand how they reach the conclusion. I don't want to just put down an answer without showing work, so I was like, "I'd rather lose the point" and my friend was totally shocked by this. I think if it's going to help YOU get better, you should just miss the point, because when the teacher explains it then you'll understand it (hopefully). I think people should just learn their weaknesses first, because when the test comes and you don't understand how to do certain problems, do you expect all the cheating on your homework to help you. =/

When did I get Newspaper as my study hall. Someone from school posted on fb that her schedule changed and that we should check ours and I did and now my schedule says I have my english teacher for both of my study hall periods and that means I have to do newspaper, but I'm pretty sure you have to sign up for that so now I'm confused and that's not good. I do not want extra homework. =/ If I get newspaper I have to write articles. I mean that's cool, but extra homeworrrrrk. I love homework, but homework I didn't sign up for...no es bueno. Wtf school! Oreo has these limited edition half-size boxes of "brownie batter" flavored cookies out, and they're just... god awful. The chemical aftertaste is so strong you might as well have chewed on a nuclear reactor. The second cookie is fine because the first assassinated your taste buds; everything else you eat afterwards tastes incredibly off. I made the mistake of taking a drink of soda when I was done with one and am legitimately nauseous from the mix of whatever is in them. Ew.

I'm going to recount my first day of school for you guys. Enjoy.

When I was going to school, I was totally stoked to see all the freshmen and then I go to school and the place is packed with people and I can't tell anyone apart. That wasn't bad though. It's just we were scoping out for friends, but you know we couldn't tell which grade everyone was.

1st Period: Oh my gosh. Best time ever with my AP World History teacher. She's SOOOOO classy/funny. When she was calling out attendance and she got to my name she was like, "Excellent summer work. Guys, she was ahead of all of you." I was so flattered/happy. =)

3rd Period: I hate P.E. so much. lol it's like a class of 70 kids and there's about 15 or 16 sophomores. We're outnumbered lol.

Lunch: My friends and I tried to make friends with this really adorable boy, but when I asked he was like, "I don't think so, maybe tomorrow." So then this guy who works there was like, "ARE YOU MAKING FUN OF HIM?" I'm just like, how is asking someone to be your friend making fun of them?!?!?! I wish I was confident enough to actually say that. In fact, I felt like saying, "Who would do that? At *insert school's name here* no one makes fun of each other." Anyways, for the rest of the day my mind was flustered because of that and I don't think I'll be making any friends for like a month lol. That lowered my self-esteem. =/ We did make a friend though, after one of my friends asked a girl freshmen who was alone. It was totally worth it, cuz she sat with us and talked and she was cool. =) I like her.

5th Period: I thought the sophomores were overreacting when they said they didn't understand the chemistry teacher, but wow, his accent is really bad. Not to the point where you can't understand, but I'd love it if he could reiterate everything he says. XD I felt like falling asleep in his class, his voice is so monotone.

And tomorrow is orientation, day 2. Hopefully, it goes better compared to today.

I have to give a presentation in my engineering class tomorrow and even though it's only three slides of information, I am already panicking. I'm really hoping my teacher doesn't make me present. Thank you selective mutism for making easy things like this insanely difficult.

I just hate people right now. Every time I ask for advice, they just don't help me. They either ignore me, or their advice falls extremely flat and half-assed, and it's pissing me off nad getting on my last nerve. I'm so incredibly frustrated.

So, I'll turn to you guys. Which is sad that you're more dependable than my own friends and family that are like, "I'll be here if you ever need me!"

I'm looking for a detergent free shampoo. My skin is really sensitive. I have to wash my hair three days a week with normal shampoos or else my scalps hurts and gets dry and flaky. However, in the summer heat, my hair needs to be washed more often to get sweat and dirt out to keep my hair clean and styled right.

Any advice for sulfate free and detergent free shampoo? I try to look things up, but I can only find sulfate free but not detergent free.

I do know that people who can take care of their naturally curly hair probably use products that match the description of what I'm looking for. My sister does, and she's done the research for her naturally curly hair, but she's ignoring me.

Lol, I'm kind of pissed, because my bestie said that (and I guess I wasn't paying attention) the janitor had walked by with the principal and that the janitor pointed at us, so...yeah. I felt like total shit when I heard the announcements. I wasn't feeling to bad about myself in the morning and then I heard those announcements and I felt so weak like somehow something as little as trying to make a friend is wrong when I do it. =( I am never going to try to make friends like that ever again. R.I.P. to having a guilt free sophomore year.

So have you guys heard about Lilith from the Bible? Apparently she was taken out of it, because--according to my history teacher--the first writer's of the Bible (and also the Torah) thought it shouldn't have been there. My teacher thinks it's because it gears away from patriarchy, but umm, yeah...I don't know if I believe it. I don't really think there is a Lilith. Before I explain that, let me tell you what her story is.

So in the Bible I guess it says something along the lines of, "And then God created both man and woman at the same time," but later on we see something like, "Eve was created to keep Adam company" so these two verse contradict each other. Historians believe that the woman made at the same time as Adam was Lilith, his first wife. So Lilith and Adam are having a nice time in Eden and then Adam wants to have sex with her, but she doesn't want to do it missionary position (the only acceptable position), so instead Adam forces her to do it like that, rape. Lilith was then punished and taken out of Eden and then Eve was made. Ok, so after all of that my teacher says, "Some people believe that when a young male ejaculates when they're sleeping it's because Lilith came and molested them. She's even viewed as the first feminist."

I told my mom all of this and then she said, "Oh, so that's where they got the name for the Lilith Fair" so I asked her what it was and she said it was a feminist music festival (lol). But omg, when I heard that Lilith was the first feminist I was just like, "Wow. That explains a lot."

OK. So the reason I don't believe this is true (even with the whole contradiction thing, because I honestly would have never noticed it if it weren't for history class) is just cuz in the Bible, God doesn't make anyone to be perverted, they grow UP to be that way and tbh none of that would ever happen without the first sin, which is Eve taking the forbidden fruit. Again though, see if Lilith was real, wouldn't SHE be the first sin? So see, that's another contradiction. Anyway, Lilith would not even know the difference between one sex position or another, because they were made without knowledge of anything. That's why it doesn't make sense. =/ But that's just from a religious standpoint. I really wish my teacher had elaborated on it more, but we had to do other stuff, too.

So as you know I like taking the hard classes, so I was telling my underachieving bestie about stuff and she said she'd take AP Biology if possible next year (cuz they're doing some weird thing at my school where you can only get in that class every other year. As an asexual, this "Netflix and Chill" phenomenon is really pissing me off. Mostly because I find it annoying. To me, it's the equivalent to an inside joke that two of your friends won't shut up about, and you're just left out of the loop.

Like, why do you have to say "Netflix and Chill" instead of "Let's fuck?" Why the hidden message? Why is Netflix being abused like this? If I had a boyfriend that I loved and he said, "Netflix and Chill" then tried to make a move on me while we're watching Netflix, I'd just push him out of the way in favor of watching Netflix.

Maybe it's just because I'm asexual, but I find Netflix far more appealing. Yet people won't shut up about it meaning sex, and I just don't get it. Most importantly, why is it so interesting, and why did it catch on? Can't we talk about something more interesting than hidden sex codes? Like, I don't know. Stupid people running for president? Cars? Computers? Exercise? Hell, I'd prefer you talk about football or wrestling (even though I hate a majority of the things listed) than stupid teenage slang because they can't keep it in their pants during a movie.

My first assignment for English was to decorate my composition book, because the teacher said she wanted to see our inner selves not just another boring book, so I was like, "I'M GONNA COVER IT WITH PRETTY PEOPLE!!!" and I did. The goal was for me to cover the first page with girls and the second page with guys, but I ended up printing more girls than guys, so it's just an all girl notebook now...A beautiful notebook. I have no idea if it's supposed to be in color or not either, so I purposefully picked people who had black/white pictures (not to mention the only women I think are remotely gorgeous compared to anyone else today).

Look, awesome. I get it, you want women to do things that men can because both genders should have an equal chance of doing the same thing, but do they not realize the flaw in that. I mean even the fact that women can take the test in general is already a sign of equality, it wouldn't be fair if women couldn't take the test. I would understand if that was the case. But dragging a fucking body, umm, no. If the fucking house is on fire and there is fire on the floor and you are dragging the body, then you would be hurting the person, thus, upper body strength is required. Obviously, the test is not sexist.

In fact, that whole story just was so stupid. How can you say their aren't enough women firefighters when the point is that you should be looking at women's physical abilities not the test itself. I don't understand how dragging a body on the floor if you're a woman is more important then just having people who are CAPABLE become firefighters so they can get the job done.

lol so last night I was playing songs for my mom and I started kind of mumbling the lyrics to "Walk on the Wild Side" by Lou Reed and she was like, "What song is that?" and I was blown out of my mind that she didn't know that song. Thing is every time I want to tell my mom to chill, I just tell her to "take a walk on the wild side" and she laughs, so I thought that she knew what I was referring to. I brought my phone to her and made her listen to it and at the end I said, "Now isn't that one of the best songs you've ever heard?" and she said, "I mean yeah it's ok." JUST OK?! I feel like I'm going to waste my three-day weekend. =( I have a lot of hw, but I just need to print out three things (luckily) this week. Ugh, but my chemistry teacher did not put the hw online and I am freaking out, because I'm trying to go the whole year without calling home! I fucking hate their system. I don't understand why they make us do that. We're just missing more class and that's why we suffer on our homework. It's stupid. So I got paired up with this senior for my newspaper class (today was our first day) and the senior asked me why I chose newspaper as my extra class and I said I didn't and he said that means that my teacher last year thought I was a good writer. =/ So bizarre. I got such bad grades (ok, so B's aren't bad grades, but they are to me) on my writing assignments last year. Lol, cool cool, I have such potential to improve now that I have this class I guess.

I have to write something I believe in for english class. The teacher was like, "You guys can skip ahead and read the other belief statements. The next one we're reading is about an interracial couple." Me: Oh, look I can relate. Shout out to all the times I was treated weirdly for what I am lol. I MIGHT actually write about that. "I believe that people should not assume your race..." lol, but that's not truly, ALWAYS what I believe in. I don't really get mad about it. It just disappoints me when people find it so weird, because it isn't really. Well, I can finally participate for something in class guys! I don't have to be shy next class! I can raise my hand and say, "Well, you know this is how it feels..."

No, what I'm actually going to write my belief statement on is individuality and nonconformity. I don't want to choose a belief statement that has anything that's too general that I just sound like I'm saying what anyone else would say on the same thing. =/

I called home today for the first time. R.I.P. to the idea of not calling home the whole year. At least, I have less expectations of myself. When I called my mom she wasn't even mad at me, she was more mad for WHY I had to call home. See, I did the math homework due for next class and I copied my bestie's homework for this class just so I would still be eligible for points (thank goodness, I got 61/65 points lol) but I wasn't able to finish every single question during lunch so I got an incomplete (still retarded that I had to call home, ugh!).

I think once 5 comes out, it'll explain whether the kid from 4 is the puppet or Golden Freddy. Though you also have to work under the fact that Scott planned on making only 4 games so all of the information might already be in there. However however, you also have to consider that he put out 4 earlier than he planned, so he might have cut a lot out that would be crucial information.

Based on what I've seen, I think what's missing is mini-games. I believe that there's mini-games that were glossed over because no one that plays FNAF has played them, and that's something that Scott seems to like. At least in 2 and 3.

Maybe I'll rewatch all of Mark's videos. I kinda want to, but he also glosses over the mini games and different endings, meaning tat watching those makes you miss A LOT! I think another issue was that one of them (I think it was 3?) is easier, so it's glossed over a lot. Because the whole point of the game is to play the sound in the furthest room. every so often and you'll be fine. Which makes it a lot easier and less comprehensive. I bet you can see where I'm going with this. Your mind isn't in the game as much because it's easier, making you not notice a lot of details.

Then we also have to consider that in 1 people didn't know that it would be this complex. So people just continued, and I don't think anyone is going BACK to the first game to see what they missed when they didn't know that Scott was making everything so complex.

I don't think we'll start a war, though. I'm just throwing out why so much of this is missed. Though I would also like to note that golden Freddy in 4 isn't Golden Freddy but nightmare Freddy. Then there's the nightmare Fredbear which no one seems to be addressing at all.

This is gr8 Im loving this FNAF discussion I started.

Tbh I think the 4th game takes place earlier than '87. However, maybe it's not '83 since that being the establishment of the place is very plausible. I just dont believe it's the infamous bite, because a bit like that damaged way more then just the frontal lobe.

So, who is the kid and why is he so scared? It's not The Puppet, because we saw the first child get killed in front of the dinner and turn into him. It's also not Golden Freddy. In fact, I think MatPat is totally wrong on the 4th game: the child is not scared because he saw someone stuff someone into an animontronic because that's what The Puppet did in the mini game! The child SAW the killer dress up as Golden Freddy and kill his friends. And, most likely, his sister.

There is that room that's pink and filled with flowers in the child's house during the mini games. Another crucial point is that Mangle is on the floor. What I believe is that the killer dressed up as Golden Freddy (resulting in the removal of it's endoskeleton, explaining why it's slumped over and why there's an endoskeleton that appears rarely), and killed the child's sister and another 4 kids who may or may not have been his friends. He becomes scared, especially of Golden Freddy, and his sister is the one stuffed into that suit which is why Golden Freddy talks to and comforts him. After the child was bitten he was placed in a hospital, had repeated nightmares (including a scary ass version of Freddy for an obvious reason) and died a few days later (you can hear the beep go out in the last mini game).

And the child becomes Mangle, because his sister promises to put the pieces back together/fix him.

Honestly I just have no clue who Balloon Boy is like I can explain almost everything in a coherrent theory bUT HIM

On the note of that recent issue of the teen boy getting charged with assault for forcibly kissing his classmate, I honestly don't see what people are up in arms about. All these articles are posting stock photos of young 6-7 year old children as if it was just a couple of kids playing around. No. This was a thirteen year old teenager, just a couple years away from high school, forcing himself on a slightly older girl. They're way past the age of not understanding what that it means to kiss someone who doesn't want to.

What if instead of just one infamous bite, there were in fact two different ones; the skull crushing Fredbear chomp that people want to forget about, and the forced lobotomy that Mangle induced on Jeremy Fitzgerald (because this guy appears to be the target). Everyone would love to forget the first bite, and when people try chatting on the issue, everyone points over to the security guard whose frontal lobe was chomped off by a fox robot. Even Phone Guy, who's relation to the child is still unknown, speaks more on the Bite of 87 than the more truer bite that made someone lose a life.

Also, the picture seems to be getting a bit clearer, due to Scott updating his website each day for the past four days.

My names are pretty simple, too, and for some reason people never seem to pronounce it right. My middle name was supposed to be my first name and I'm actually quite glad it's not, because people mispronounce my middle name more than my first name when they first learn it. I turned in the rough draft of my essay talking about how I believe in individuality and my writing group thought it was perfect and I was super happy, but I still felt like there had to be some way to improve what I'd written. I went to the teacher after school and she told me that I was too general, which is true, because I never really make any specific points on people who act as individuals and I never try to connect it to me (it's supposed to be very personal). Well, now I'm trying to reevaluate my life and see what I can find about myself that makes me super individual. When I was talking to my teacher she said she liked country music and that people think she's weird for that, which doesn't even make sense. I don't get why people say "country sucks." It's not even that bad. lol, then she started saying about how it represents an American art form and I think if she wasn't trying to help me with my rough draft she probably could have kept going on about how she feels about country music.

Then another piece of writing I had to turn in today was for my study hall class, which is Newspaper. I had to write an article about another person in the class and mine was just stating whatever he had said to me making sure to exceed the 200 word count limit, so I go first because I had to attend a college meeting (University of Massachusetts Lowell came to our school today. The representative sounded like she was trying to sell us something lol). When I finish reading my essay, my partner reads his and it's so good that I just want to get out of the room, because mine sounded so stupid.

Just checked my grades. I have a 4.0 GPA. I just need to raise my chemistry and algebra II grade and that 5.0 GPA is mine again!

Agh. My school is bullshit. My friend still had to go through all of her classes because the nurse wasn't there the whole day. She had the flu. Even when she went into the office to ask if she could go home, they didn't let her even though she told them that she had the flu and she looked like crap. Even the office secretaries thought that she had the flu (made no big deal about it, not asking if she was okay), but they still made her go even though it was pretty damn obvious that she had the flu, not considering the safety and health of other students. There are some moments in life, that could be dyed monochrome and there wouldn't be a god damned difference.

So there's constantly college presentations at my school and I love going, because I need to widen my options (although, I already kind of know where I want to go so...) and so it's during our study hall. Study hall is the least important class, but that's when I have Newspaper. I informed my teacher that I was going to the college meeting and my teacher said, "I know you're a sophomore and I love that you're interested in colleges, but you do need to be in study hall half of the time." No, I literally don't have to be in there. That's the least important class. This is when we have "pep rallies" and do fire/earthquake drills. This is when you just read and study and in our case work on an article that doesn't take much effort. I cancelled meeting with Cornell University on Thursday, because I didn't want to here my teacher say shit to me again, but you know what, if she does it again next week when some more colleges come, I'm going to fucking ask the counselor to switch my study hall to the regular class. I don't even care. I never even asked to sign up. I see the upside of it, because it's helping with my writing skills, but I really don't care if I have the class or not. She is not going to take me away from listening to what colleges have to offer!!!

Journalism doesn't even speak to me. I love writing, but journalism...no! I read our school newspaper last year. Totally speaks to the mass majority and of course, that's expected, but in the op-ed's you never see anyone who has an opinion against something people are all for. I think there was some article about ISIS vs. Who Muslims Are in the school newspaper last year and it was being so totally politically correct that I was like, why even put something like that when you think it might be a touchy subject and you have to be super careful of what you say or else it'll be taken the wrong way. It should be flexible, right?! Then there's a section for book reviews and every single fucking book review was on a John Green book! Like, what the fuck?! There are plenty of authors out there, not just John Green! I mean I'm totally stoked to be that one person in the class who writes the shitty articles, so everyone hates my opinions and in the end they get sugar-coated by the editors. I can already imagine it. This will be a great year u_u

I sent the teacher an e-mail (assigned for homework) that was about what top three things we wanted to write about. So from what she gave us I put arts and entertainment, op-ed, and book reviews. If I do arts and entertainment, I'll probably be expected to write about pop culture from now, but can I not introduce the school to The Doors? lol, I'm the Doors girl even though no one knows who they are at school. If we do that can I pls right about them teacher. The teacher will probably say, "We need something more recent and popular..." and I won't know what to write about. My mom was even laughing with me. She said that since I've been watching a lot of movies lately that it would be cool if I did movie reviews. She then said, "I bet they'll expect you to write reviews on the current movies we never go see!" Which is totally true, I'd probably want to write a review on something old or some indie film, because I never really go to the theaters =/

If I do op-ed, I'll have to give my opinions on a subject and I'm already a shitty person, so imagine my opinions on social things and such. I don't know...I hope I don't get that one, arts and entertainment above all the other shitty things I had to choose from.

If I do the book reviews, I will GLADLY read any YA novel, BUT I will most likely give them bad reviews. =) I read "Go Ask Alice" in middle school and I have to say it's probably one of the shittiest books I've ever read. "Hey, I'm really high and messed up, but I'm going to write on my diary of napkins right now." Like, seriously, none of that shit was believable. Ugh, what a stupid book. It was clearly not a true story and putting the author as "Anonymous" was supposed to make it seem really mysterious and cool. It was "appealing." If that's what appealing is, I can only imagine what all the other YA novels that are super hyped up are like. I'm not saying I don't like YA novels (because I love love loved the Princess Diaries), but it seems like nowadays all the YA novels/series are super hyped up and for no reason at all. They must have some formula. Like the formula of impressionability and mass appeal.

When my partner for Newspaper read his article introducing me to the class he said, "blah blah blah, this is why I think Lovely will be a great addition to the Newspaper staff!" and now I'm thinking, "No, I'll probably be a horrible addition." R.I.P. to having an enjoyable study hall experience this year.

Really upset with Blood-C. All of the "plot twists" were too heavily foreshadowed at the very beginning. It was incredibly predictable.

I finally showed my friends my English notebook with all the beautiful women on it. I asked my best friend to tell me which ones she could guess and she was able to guess Marilyn Monroe (obvi), Bettie Page (which I was surprised she knew her. She said that she lived in the next town over and that she was crazy. I have no idea if that's true, but I highly doubt it), she knew Audrey Hepburn, and she guessed the mom from the Munsters (except she wanted to call her Elvira and I was like, dude what?! Totally different features) and she guessed Wonder Woman (of course, she didn't know the actress' name was Lynda Carter...so...) All in all she guessed three and then I made my other friend guess and she didn't know any so I pointed to the picture of Marilyn and she was like, "I'm sorry I don't know." I was totally shocked, so I was like, "Okay, just guess for me, ok" and she didn't want to because she was afraid she would guess wrong. In the end she guessed right =/

After that I asked them who they thought was prettiest and they all agreed on Grace Kelly <3

They don't even look the same imo, Jayne Mansfield looks more like Marilyn Monroe than anyone else I think. =/ When I got to Elizabeth Taylor she said, "Oh my gosh, how did I not know that, she's Cleopatra right?!" lol, she only knew that she was Cleopatra because I told her last week XD. When we get to Priscilla Presley she says, "Her hairs weird and she needs to wear less mascara." My heart breaking when she says that. When we get to Sophia Loren, she gets all excited and says, "The new English teacher was named after her!!!"

lol, I wish she was always this excited about the things I like. She really needs to sit down and watch an old movie. Not with me though. I imagine she's not enjoyable to watch movies with. I don't mind commenting on things happening in the movie, but with her I imagine she'd be criticizing a lot of the stuff happening OR she'd be talking about how awesome things are throughout the whole thing like an annoying person. Well, the Newspaper teacher gave us our section of the newspaper. I'm on arts and entertainment just like I wanted. The student in charge of A&E is going to give us our first assignment tomorrow, better not be lame. Our first issue will be posted October 30th, which means I can do my section on a scary movie!!!~ Haha, if it's allowed, the teacher loves censoring everything (she's my English teacher, too). In English class she said, "I want you to write whatever you want, but keep in mind we're in a school setting so you cannot write about..." and then she proceeded by listing every possible thing that could be taken the wrong way. Hey, it's your fault for thinking someone's a serial killer just because they write about it. =/

Lol, I have to get partnered with someone though. One of my friends is in the Newspaper club and is a part of the A&E committee, too. I hope I get paired with her. >_<

There's going to be a new club, Arts (not art like drawing, but art like I guess poetry) and Theater. I'm so excited. It does piss me off though, that that was considered and the anime club we tried to make last year wasn't, because as the person in charge of clubs said, "It has nothing to do with school." That's why I thought, "Wow she's cool!" but she doesn't want to express yourself if it's what would be a bad opinion. So it's like, you can give your opinions, but they have to be the right opinions. I don't know, the more I keep thinking about her, the more she just annoys me. Everyone acts so fake around her, too. I shit you not, people try to act like nerds around her whenever they can. "Oh, yeah, I just love *insert popular counterculture or subculture term*" only around her and only popular things. It's what they consider things that make them different, but it doesn't. I mean ugh, it's just so fake. Everything about that class is so fake. I can't stand any of them. I think I might hate everyone in that class by the end of the year. What I'm trying to say is, why do people try so hard to seem cool for being different? It literally makes no difference if you have a shitty personality.

People judge on appearance. That's what they do. You see someone, "Oh they're fat, they must have bad self control" or "Oh that girl has orange hair, I bet she's a pretty interesting person" or "That man looks pretty pretentious and grumpy".
Not only that, but people's appearances tell a lot about them. People make themselves look how they want to look for a certain reason. Everything about someone defines them, including what they look like. If they put on a fake personality, that defines them too, just as much as any real one would.

TLD;DR- Someone's appearance defines them as much as their mannerisms and personality do.

Essay writing is actually awesome if you've done the research first. I've written and referenced a few good paragraphs and for once I actually agree with what I've written and wouldn't be totally uncomfortable with someone reading it. It only took me about an hour, too, and I'm a quarter of the way done, and I have days left before I need to submit. I'm finally breaking out of my procrastinating habits and it's just amazing how much less stress I have to deal with.

When you can't remember how you got into such a weird and awkward position while doing something possibly not productive at all.

My mom is encouraging me to read "Helter Skelter" and I might possibly read it. I just need to finish all the books I already have checked out and then that will be the next book I read. She's made me like her. She's really into learning about serial killers and controversial murders, you know things like that. When I was like 7, I remember the first weird thing I ever watched with my mom was the Jonestown Documentary and thinking, "WHOA WHAT IS THIS?!" and then I was totally fascinated with that stuff like her. It was so interesting!!! I need to watch it again!!! I think then after that we watched something about Richard Ramirez. I was constantly watching this kind of stuff at 7, I don't think any other parents would let their kids watch this stuff lol.

Then this year (and this is why she's encouraging me to read "Helter Skelter") when that show about Charles Manson came out, Aquarius, she said, "Did you know he wrote songs?" and I said "Yeah, Marilyn Manson did a cover of one of them." Haha, so after I listened to a few of his songs I told my mom what they were like and she said, "Well, now we should watch one of the movies about him." I found out today that one of my friend's parents died. I guess it had to be recently (sometime in the summer I'm guessing), because I met her mom before that. =( At first I was like, "Why would she lie about that?" but of course I knew she wouldn't be lying just for a grade (see this was for an essay, we had to make a personal connection). My best friend is an insensitive asshole though. I told her about the story and see these two were pretty good friends last year, but one thing lead to another and they stopped being friends (honestly, it's because my bestie is an annoying self-centered shit and she isn't aware of that). So I told her this story and she said, "She has to be lying." And I was saying stuff like, "Wow, that's really sad" and my bestie didn't give two shits. I understand that she hates her, but not even I would wish that upon my worst enemy. =(

Class today was super depressing. In this case, as an example, one of the things I need to organize are < 100 sound files. With a 2D array, not only can I list their ID numbers in an easily updated + loopable way, but I can also have each ID branch off with its own array containing information like artist, file name, license credit, etc. without needing to hard code it. From there, any time I need to access a particular piece of information, it's as easy as 'sounds[id][info]'. Or 'sounds[id][info] = whatever' to update it.

A database, etc. would be overkill, as this information won't be seen or sorted by the user and is only needed during a short window of time.

The problem comes with setting up these character layers. I need like a super ultra dimensional array. Which I can do, with some effort, but it's a cunt to remember what's what.

I can't believe how boring my homework is today. I've only done one assignment and I still have five more to go. It's too much. This is where my weekend has gone.

I'm kind of out of it today. My TV has channels that just play music and I was on the classic rock station and it was playing Ted Nugent (and this was my first time listening to him and I was like, "Ok this is cool" so I left it there), so my uncle and grandmother come home after going to the mall and he comes in and hears me listening to that and he says, "How do you like that and you like the Doors? They're so different." So I got really pissed, because I don't understand why anyone judges music tastes based on what you like as well. It's pretty much the reason why I don't like talking about music with anyone. I then tell him, "Well, that's like saying I can't like Taylor Swift because I like the Doors. Two totally different genres of music, but I like both." And he said that was a stupid example, except it totally wasn't. Then every song that kept playing after that he started judging me for. Like, wtf man. Now I can't like certain music. I don't fucking get it! What is the problem with that?! And it's kind of hypocritical of him, too, because what he usually listens to is like spanish music (the stereotypical kind, do you get me?) and whenever any other genre comes up in his playlist he quickly skips it so no one can hear it. Obvi, he likes other types of music, but when people are in his car he makes it seem like he only likes that one type of music. He's just a fuck who thinks he's always right. Screw him. This is why no one in our family expresses themselves, because they're all too fucking self-conscious of the things they like and when anyone else isn't, they make sure to make them self-conscious about it. Ugh I'm progressively hating my English teacher. Everything about her annoys me. It's not good. So our class had to do notes over the weekend on how writers who do good rhetoric have an aim that the readers should be able to follow and at the end of those notes we were apparently supposed to have a summary. At my school, there's always a summary at the end of any Cornell notes, but you know what, none of us ever did that for any class except Biology, so we're just taking what we learned from English last year and applying it to English this year. Everyone had to go out of the class and call home except one person. It was a total waste of time and the time could have been spent much better. u_u The teacher's make no sense at all. I highly doubt any of the stuff they're trying to instill into our brains will help us for college. Sure, maybe we'll pay attention to format and getting better time management, BUT we will never call our parents because we forgot to do something in pen instead of pencil. No, that's stupid.

I got my progress report guys, I've already been able to increase my Algebra II Grade from 82% to 86%, my AP World History grade went down to 83.8%, but I know why and the teacher already told us about how badly grades go up and down in her class, so it's cool cool. Chemistry though. My grade is now at the edge of becoming a C. The teacher is just bad at teaching; I'm finally realizing why the sophomores last year did not like his teaching at all. He's a nice guy, but when it comes to teaching his accent mixed with his lack of explanation sucks. I cannot believe one D on a test dropped my grade 5% though. Ugh! I will have to persevere. I was able to bring my biology grade from a 78% to an 87% so surely I can bring my 80% to a 90% by January! Now, I just have to do perfect lab reports and what not.

All day I was thinking about how I need to make it to at least pre-calculus for my math subjects, but I'm in Algebra II and by senior year I will have to take Trig, right??? I'm not sure. I think you can choose whether you want geometry or trig, but it's like what if they don't let you? In english class today we talked about banned books week. It's kind of stupid why anyone would ban a book or deem it not appropriate. Shouldn't it all have to do with what the reader's personal beliefs. You have every right to hate what a book is saying, but that doesn't mean you should ban it. After reading that article, I'm thinking I need to re-read that book just so I can find all the flaws again. I was super bored with that book, but I read the whole thing, because I had to prove those no-good impressionable middle school girls that not every highly acclaimed book is good, when there are so many flaws. I mean it didn't do me any good, all they did was hate me more and that's fine, but the fact they found it believable is what scares me. Nothing about that book was believable. I might just read ALL the books that are written by anonymous (because putting the author's name as anonymous makes it super edgy, you know), because I bet they have SO many flaws.

People who don't realize that the quality of any single art piece is subjective tho. ^

I'm at the library right now, except I'm at the weird perverted one and I just want to get out of here so I can do my homework. When I'm at the library, I go to get books not go on the computer, so I'm just sitting here wasting time while my mom's next to me on her good reads. In the next seat over some weirdo guy is staring at us cuz you know that's what it's like here and that's exactly why I hate coming here. There are two workers here reading "Fifty Shades of Grey" and giggling about it (annoying). In front of me are two young boys playing video games even though it isn't allowed, because there's specifically a kids section here. I really do hate it here. There are plenty of computers, that's for sure, but the annoyance this place gives me because of the number of people who come with "computer" in their mind is what's bothering me. I want to get some book, because this place is loaded with books and I need a book I can read really fast after I finish the one I'm currently reading so by the time I am done with both I can receive a free dress pass at school. Once I receive this pass I'll save it for Halloween.

Last year, everyone was shocked by my will to go against the grain and wear a costume at our uniform-clad school. It was nice. I felt strangely weird, but to this day (and I say "to this day" as if I were a senior) the principal still asks me about it. Just last week he asked me what I was dressing up as this year, so I guess I really had made an impact by being the only one. I'm very glad I did it. I was quite happy.

I'm dressing as Holly Golightly this year. She's Audrey Hepburn's character in "Breakfast at Tiffany's." I've already got the dress, it looks lovely on me, or so my mother says. I've also got some pearls and the make-up for it. All I've got to do is straighten my hair a few days before Halloween, get some black sunglasses, get a tiara, and get gloves. That will complete the outfit and I'll have an awesome Halloween. =) Maybe this year I'll actually go trick-or-treating unlike last year when it ended up raining.

It kills me how people think generic shoujo plots are unique just because so few of them are made into animes. There's literally thousands of shoujo mangas with the same exact plot as the "revolutionary" series that periodically get thrown into popularity. It's frustrating.

If I get an A on our next essay, which is next class, maybe I can recover my grade by 10%, but for now I'm just going to feel the pain in my heart grow.

Lol, these are the comments my friend and I received for our article on "celebrity breakups of 2015." It sounds totally out of context when you read it as "A death of a loved one is not exciting." But tbh, I'm sure it would be like "Whoa!" right, considering it's about celebrities. "Whoa, that singer died! Oh my gosh." It is not necessarily as sad (unless that is one of your favorite musicians/actors/etc., because I know that if I were alive when Jim Morrison died, I would have cried my eyes out while listening to the Doors albums)...ok so anyways, it is not necessarily sad as it is shocking. My mom and I keep up with celebrities, for example, the Kardashians, so if one of them died we would not be sad, but shocked. We might watch their show, but that does not mean we feel a connection towards them. Haha, so I mean it was kind of funny reading that comment: "A death of a loved one is not exciting." No, it is. It's gossip. "Did you hear how so-and-so died, isn't that crazy?" So yes, it is exciting. I guess I'm just a weirdo =/ Do you agree with me?! Do you agree that it's not necessarily exciting in the context of death (as if death isn't an exciting concept, but you know society doesn't think it is...), but who the person is and what happened to the person, all of that stuff?

Second comment she gives is that break ups are not exciting, but it's like, obviously our whole fucking article is about breakups and if Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy breaking up is not exciting, then I guess we are just dweebs who keep up with celebrities too much. My best friend and I just completely get each other. We were laughing about how we have so many friends yet we totally separate ourselves from them, because we can't hold a conversation with them. Lol, everyone annoys me except her (and my other friend, but she barely pays attention to us now lol). When we make good friends, we take them for granted and they suddenly leave us, so we're scared for what'll become of us in the future. We can't properly make friends without bothering them or them bothering us. So my essay about Muslims and capitalism for my politics class is almost finished. I wrote it in 4 hours and researched it very little, and I have to pad it out by about 300 words. It addresses the question directly and doesn't wander, but at the same time it doesn't explain a lot about political ideology, but why whether or not Muslims can adapt to a capitalist society is largely due to how willing they are to adapt to it. The challenges to their views posed by it are minimal, and the ones that are are easily avoided. And vice versa, but to a lesser extent. Knee-jerk response, but my limited research agrees with me. History dictates that this cheap-ass work'll get me a 70% mark at least.

But I barely learnt anything and this feels so cheap.
Or I could get a shittier mark than the last essay (which I worked super hard on). In which there would be irrefutable evidence that I am just stupid.

Lunch is the best now that I just go and practice in the band room. It's so much fun. We were singing "Brain Stew" by Green Day today. Haha. Best time ever. The teacher who let's us practice in there even waved at me after school today and I was like, "I've been acknowledged." It's just, I don't know, I feel like I'm super forgettable to teachers. Haha, so lunch is now my confidence booster. A freshman kid gave me and my bestie cookies. XD Sweetest freshman ever! Like, I was a very happy person today. I even helped a freshmen out and explained something for them and usually I'm like so antisocial. This was a great day ^_^

I went to T.G.I. Friday's today, too. Very good, but I overate and my stomach was like, "Whoa, dude, what are you doing? Chill out." It was worth it though.

And my friend gets to go to that room all the time.

I was listening to The Doors through my headphones, but I guess my mom managed to hear and she slaps her hand on my binder, so I get startled and she says, "You know why you got startled? Because you're listening to weird music. What is that?" so I tell her The Doors and she doesn't believe me, so I show her Jim singing and she says, "That's really bad, Lovely. The fact you got startled when you saw my hand is because you were immersed in the music." And I reply, "Yes, I was," but that's how I always am with their music. So she says, "That's not good and I know you like them, but you should stop listening to them, because they're going to mess up your mind." She's so strict about music and I don't understand, because the music she listens to is not necessarily good either. She never even listens to the words, she just determines whether or not it's good by how it sounds and if it sounds "evil" then it's bad. The particular Doors song I was listening to is quite fascinating. I mean Jim's lyricism is great. I can never get over it. I felt like saying, "Yes, mom, I've converted to Morrison-ism. He is the lizard king. He can do anything." She would have flipped lol. This situation has inspired me. I'm creating it. I'm creating a Jim Morrison cult and a bunch of rules to go with it. It'll be funny.

The theme of our first dance of the year is Hollywood Night and since it's going to be on the day before Halloween, I'm just going to go in my costume, since I'm dressing as Audrey Hepburn's character in "Breakfast at Tiffany's." I still need gloves (I don't give a shit about the tiara anymore). Ugh!

Our dances are actually super lame and the DJs suck, but I go because I figure that I need to chill out with my friends. Our dances are stupid. The only dance you can actually look forward to is prom and that's only senior year and it's based on how much money your class was able to raise in the whole four years. Apparently, class of 2010 had their prom on a boat. I want my prom on a boat lol. So class of 2018 makes the most money every week (they only collect on Monday's which is kind of stupid to me), but I still feel like we would have a super lame prom. I would LOVE it if our prom was held at a the observatory (omg that would be perf). It would literally be a night under the stars. I wouldn't even dance, I'd just explore. We should really have a unique prom, not just the typical hotel prom. One that's actually got meaning to it. I guess by then where we have it wouldn't matter, it would just be like saying good bye and spending that last week together. =/

Oh no is today one of those days where everyone is busy and I feel self-centered for posting so many things in a row???

So my little cousin got suspended from school for not knowing how to count or her letters. And, ugh, I feel SUPER bad for her (because education is life, she's going to end up fucked up pretty bad if she doesn't go to school <---she already told me she wants to be stupid, like wow, she's only five and she said that!!!) So even though I feel pretty bad for her, I feel like this needed to happen so her parents could understand exactly why she needs to learn. My uncle doesn't teach her anything when she's here, because in his words, "He's tired and she won't talk to him." Fucking excuses. If he was so tired, he wouldn't be texting his gf for hours on end at night. Her mom won't teach her either, so who's going to teach her?! My mom and I have tried teaching her, but she immediately starts doing other things and I guess we're messed up for not being patient, but even when we are, she just waits for us to give her the answer. She (and both her parents) insists she knows how to count/knows her letters, but she really doesn't. I mean if you sing the ABC's to her she gets it and even if you count with her she sort of understands, but she can't read or write. I don't want to be mean, but I think she is dyslexic. The bad thing about it is that I can't tell anyone. I told my mom and she agrees with me, but if I tell my uncle he's going to start yelling at me and just say a bunch of shit to me. She'll probably flunk kindergarten ='(

I should probably try to convince her to like school. I mean she's already told me she wants to be like me, so if I tell her that the only way to be like me is to pay attention in school, will she do it? I highly doubt she will. She has a short-attention span, too (unless she's playing video games <--- I don't understand that if her parents know she likes video games, they don't try to teach her by doing something related to video games?! Ugh.) *sigh* I only want the best for her, I feel like she is so hurt inside and it's all because of her parents. My parents are not married, but even so, they love each other and never say anything bad about each other. They're very respectful. Her parents, however, just scream insults at each other over the phone and she has to hear that. She's so confused as to who she's supposed to defend, and so it makes me wonder whether they care about her at all or not. Wouldn't you try your best to make up?! Not for each other, but for your kid, right? Ugh.

Every time I'm around, my parent try to prove that they love me. And I let them do it because I don't want them to think I'm not letting them be a parent. When I'm gone, that goes out the window. Thanks, parents. And you wonder why I don't think you love me? You gotta prove it both when I'm around and not around.

The ending of Cheonsaeng Yeonbun was just... unsatisfying. It was happy, but the way everything was turned into a misunderstanding seemed like an excuse to tie it up as quickly as possible. Everything was settled in the last few chapters with no gradual decline. Blah.

One more exam and I'm finally done with Uni for the year. If I manage to get a course transfer, I'll have one last chance to get a qualification that might actually help get me some decent work. I just hope my marks aren't too poor. I get the feeling that they are.

I'll be stuck with the debt for both courses no matter what I do, but somehow the idea of changing in middle of next year feels like a failure.

so, because of all the prebuilt shit on it, the phone storage is full (even after deleting whatever I could), but my SD card has less than 1GB full even after moving all I could to it. but my phone wont download any apps because the phone storage is full even tho i have plenty of SD card free >:(

Ham, your phone's storage may be corrupted. Have you tried doing a restore to factory yet? For example, whenever my iPhone is unplugged while syncing, it will corrupt some of the storage, to the point where it says it has more data on it than it should. Formatting the hard drive by restoring the phone to factory condition should fix it if that's the case.
