This includes, but is not limited to thoughts, feelings, emotions, braggings, stutters, outbursts, questions, concerns, comments, personal attacks, drunken ramblings, litigations, sexual advances, or emergency calls, etc.

So, feel free to post it here if you don't want to be killed for making a thread that doesn't deserve it's own thread!

Apparently, an apartment can charge you for anything they want when you leave at their own discretion. All they have to do is put it under cleaning and paint job. Because, if they think it's needed, that's your problem!

The point of the what not to post on main was supposed to be a brief list of do nots, and then a link to the FAQ. I think it needs to be briefer.

My point is, there's ten spots that will go on Main's front page. Ten individual threads. So, we've got to decide which ten we want people to see. The FAQ, obviously is one. So, now we have nine.

If we have 11 threads that we think members HAVE to see, then one won't be seen. Obviously.

However, if we have ten, then it's easy to bump the bottom ones off with people who post the wrong shit on main or actual topic of discussions.

What if you just put the ten things that people have to see on Main's front page, then I bump up the thread on love? Well, now that bottom one won't been seen!

But then, you have to also keep in mind that someone may not look through all of these threads. The only guarantees are the first five, which are listed at the top. So if you bump up everything and not the "Don't post your intros here" in place six, the newb may not see it and post an intro there.

Well, with the what not to post on Main thread, we don't need that thread anymore, but that's not the point.

Which boils down to, how many important threads should we have for Main? Obviously the ones we have are important, but we need to find the most efficient way to get this information to the newbs as possible while also taking the highest chance of them seeing it all into consideration.

Then the problem with ten could also be a problem with five threads.

We don't want to keep dumping this information if FAQ, because it's already far past the point of Tl;Dr. We need a non Tl;Dr thread to post the simpler stuff like, what not to post on Main. Which the Read this if you're new might work. A thread that specifically asks newbs to read it.

The Don't post this on Main and how to main a thread should go in there. As, it's the information that new people need to see, but not regulars, like myself.

If you ask me, I think that we need to limit our "important" threads to three. That way we can keep discussions on Main up as well as well as provide the highest chance of a new person seeing them without the worry of it getting bumped too far down.

So, we need to discuss a way to organize all of this and have the mods help so we can allow things to go smoothly.

And if you are asking why I chose the number three, it'll allow all of the important threads to stay in the top five, where it's guaranteed to be right at the top with a little wiggle room.

Two extra threads of wiggle room will allow room for one actual topic of discussion, and one spam to be bumped over it.

I propose we all discuss and come up wit a list of what we want newbs to see. Have someone write a clear and concise set of rules based on that. Make sure it's short enough to not be Tl;Dr. Then to with the suggestion of having that be the first page they come in on.

Unless rather than a Main page up top, we have a Please Read board or something like that where all of this can go rather than Discussions.

OR we move discussions elsewhere and give that it's own board. Still, we've got the issue of people posting crap on main, which is still an issue. Therefor, that'll only solve part of the problem.

Not including you, I've known 2 people personally and 1 person online who have been raped. 2 of them became suicidal and all self harmed after that. Of the two that became suicidal, one got sent to the hospital trying to kill herself, and the other got sent to one of those places for suicidal people.

I mean, hell. I was sexually assaulted (though not raped) when I was ten. I never really told anyone outside my family, but I always blamed myself after thinking of what-ifs.

i recommend supporting your head by touching your fingertips to your ears? that way you can still kinda hold your head up but at the same time you won't be pulling on your head/neck =o

Yay auditioning tomorrow for our school's Talent Show for sure. They texted my mom though and my mom started replying almost making it so that I didn't get auditioned. Thank goodness, she called me over. Well, I hope my song selection wasn't too weird. I think it makes for an interesting show though. Last year, (the year my music taste became so much better) I sang something weird and lots of people thought I was great. I guess it was my energy, at least that's what people told me ^_^ Yes, can't wait!!! I am so stoked!!!~

lol i'm so lucky, i had to attend a different club before doing auditions for our talent show and when i got there they were about to end the meeting but I said I wanted to audition and they let me. Two seniors said I was good, I was so happy!!! I need to ask though if there's going to be a meeting next week. All is well, I was really happy about the ending of my day. Now I just need to practice practice practice everyday!~

I still avoid the ridiculous highways of never-ending construction around here, but I'm a lot better now than I was like, a year ago at least.

As for parallel parking, I didn't do it at all until the night before my driver's test. My mom took me to her work's parking lot and I parallel parked by a curb for 3 hours until I got it down. The next morning, I nailed it on my test.

And I have not parallel parked since. If you asked me to do it now, chances are I'd probably hit something and/or run up on the curb.

I don't get why you guys are suddenly expecting special treatment from the mods and pissing on them anytime something doesn't go your way.

Please try to remember that the mods are long time members of the site who have their own lives and are doing this as charity work. Criticism is one thing, as they do make mistakes, but blatantly displaying your anger towards anonymous members in a public area where you know they can't/won't defend themselves is downright disrespectful.

Sometimes the reason is pretty obvious but I have yet to see an actual post from a mod explaining the reason. Don't get me wrong, I know they are doing what they think is right, and I respect that. But it's a little weird having the only insight into moderation being guesses from long-time community members, and not from the mods themselves.

Nothing against the mods, most if not all the time I agree with what they do. I guess it seems like a couple sentences explaining the problem couldn't hurt. Yes, we can easily guess ourselves, I understand that works a lot of the time. It's just that this system seems a bit error-prone, which I am suggesting could be avoided.

It could be overwhelming with the sheer number of threads saged every day. It could be personal preference in general. Or it could just be that there's no way to comment through the system they use. It's none of our business, regardless.

Sure, it's weird. This entire site is weird. The mods were put in place per community request in the first place and mostly enforce user-made rules, so I don't see why anyone's surprised that they would leave it up to members to explain sages. I've only seen a handful of threads in all my time here whose removal couldn't be explained by someone, and most were restored after CIVIL discussion regarding them.

What's funny is when the majority of the people I talked to were online I felt more intrinsically motivated to learn and grow and understand things, debate, etc., including to go out and make more friends.

Now that I actually have friends in "real life" I dont get that anymore and basically I feel like I wasted the last few months of my life instead of learning new and wonderful things.

So maybe it's not that I ever had intrinsic motivation, but only external, in that I rely on others for the self-motivation I need.

Almost everyone in our english class (all periods!!!) had their grade drop down by like 15%. I hate how our teacher thinks we have all the time in the world to wait for her to check it. English has got to be the most aggravating class. How is someone's opinion incorrect? I don't get that!!! -_-

Well, yes, no duh! An opinion isn't necessarily something you need information on either, that's why it's an opinion. It's not incorrect or correct or right or wrong, it's just what it is. An opinion, your own personal belief. :P

But we obviously have information on the book we're reading and she would know if we were saying something that didn't happen in the book or doesn't pertain at all to the book.

Yeah my grade dropped by only 10% since I got an A on our To Kill A Mockingbird test, which I can't believe I got a good grade on. I thought I did horribly. I'm like really pissed, but I basically want to show her off and get a good grade. I'll bring that grade up to an A. I know I can, I'm really determined.

Well, idk if I have detention or not when we get back from spring break, but if we do I really wouldn't care. When I was six I went to this Easter Egg Hunt in town and well I was traumatized. =D I didn't have fun looking for eggs because well they said there was this golden egg and that's the only thing I tried to look for so I didn't get any eggs. After that you could take a picture with the Easter Bunny and this guy in the line cut us so my mom told him off, but the guy told her "to put a sock in it" and I started crying because I didn't want him to talk about her like that. So when I went to take the picture with the Easter Bunny I wasn't smiling and my shirt was covered with tears and to this day we've never gone back again.

I've really got to watch Nanatsu no Taizai. So many great AMVs of it out there.

Hesitant to go with it. Usually on most forums anytime queries are opened from the users directed to the mods it typically leads to:
-Witch hunting
-Inflated Ego's/ Diluted sense of self importance
-Constant whining/ bitching
-Over-policing

While it's just an assumption people will act the same (not a guarantee at all), most threads needing a permasage stay on the 10 listed threads of a board until permasaged, then fall off.
For a mod, it doesn't seem like it would be too difficult to refresh each of the boards every so often for 'off' threads; and honestly, they've been doing a pretty decent job so far.

Personally, I feel like pointing fingers and complaining isn't really a proactive way to 'clean' threads off of the site, but that's merely my perspective. Since the thread's already been made, all that's left to do is watch and see what happens, really.

Sorry, I know it's not much help, and I know that you didn't ask for help, but I felt like I should share the bit I know if it might help you. Because I know how it feels to deal with... difficult parents.

Imo the only thing that would result from that, if my assumptions are correct, is her mother bashing Samas skull in using words, accusing her of being a terrible daughter or something along that line

My experiences was similar with my dad. He was emotionally and verbally abusive, asying tat I'd amount to nothing I'd never get into college, I'd be a garbage man, etc. He was also emotionally manipulative, and still is to this day. I used my experiences simply because some of the things on that sight really rang true with him (though I don't think he's narcissistic). Yes, he has a personality disorder, but whatever it is isn't diagnosed.

However, I knew my dad and his intentions. His issues at the time were really that he felt like I wasn't letting him be a father because I wasn't discussing my grades (or anything in my school life) with him. I was a teenager, I don't know what he expected, but all things considered, I was tame for teen rebellion.

So, I talked to him, and I had to give him an ultimatum for him to listen. We went to therapy together once. It turned otu disastrous (Like I said. Personality disorder. He won't listen to anything unless it's what he wasn't to hear. Hell, I don't think he can even hear it.)

While the therapy session was horrible, he decided to leave it alone, and although he still guilted me about it, it kind of helped our relationship not be as bad.

Though I think he thinks it's all better, I still can't trust him.

So, working on the only knowledge I know, and that's that my dad was bad because he wanted to be a good father, I'm hoping that Bob's mother is the same way.

But I assume she knows the situation better than I do, so if she does, then she'll know if my advice isn't going to work in that situation. Even is diagnosing a personality disorder is by far the best option because it tells them tat they have a problem and helps you learn to deal with them.

I know you don't want it and it upset you, but I really want you to remember this. Sometimes, divorce does good for your parents. It allows them to get out of an unhappy situation and make themselves happy. For years my dad was miserable and jaded, but he recently married my stepmom. It's the first time I've seen him happy in longer than I can remember. Something that would not happen if he were still married to my mom.

My mom volunteers for the animal shelter now and fosters animals for them. It's her life and although it means less time for me, it's the first time I've seen her really happy in longer than I can remember as well. Something that couldn't have happened if she were married to my dad (he's allergic to anything with fur).

I know it's hard now, but in a few years (it may take a while, don't rush it) you'll see the difference, and when you do, you'll just be happy that they're happy.

As many problems as I have with them, to see their lives now and the light in their eyes, I can't help but smile. It's like seeing the most adorable thing ever. Then again, my dad as a romantic is pretty friggen sweet. He actually had to ask me for advice before proposing because he was nervous.

I think my band got hijacked. The bastard isn't open to anything we throw at him, anything we'd written before he joined, or writing music as a band.

What he does want is for us to fit "his vision" of a vaguely defined sound that is "as heavy as Machine Head, as epic as Wintersun and as complex as Dream Theater." Yes, thank you, you twat, I guess I'll just take the epic from Wintersun and make it Machine Head heavy and Dream Theater complex. Shouldn't be too hard to fuse those to fuse those uber-vague non-musical concepts.
What's worse is that when he joined he told me that he liked our music at the time then when he got one of his friends involved literally said "that doesn't sound right to my ear." Which is shifty douchebag talk for "I don't want to play this shit anymore."

He's not even that good at songwriting. He rips off riffs and then says that they "influenced" his. Like, he'll take a riff, change it slightly, and then call it his. That's not creativity, that's basically plagiarism. He'll throw choruses and solos where they don't belong because he thinks a conventional song structure is more important than the flow of the track. He thinks he's so superior because he's involved in the local metal scene and knows people, and therefore his idea of a good song is better than hours. He "knows what the metal scene needs." Yes, thank you you arrogant fuck, but how about writing music because it's something you're passionate about rather than to please the bullshit hivemind that is the metal community. Besides, what makes you think that you're qualified to give the metal community "what they need?"

We had a 6 hour rehearsal session today. We got almost nothing accomplished, other than befriending a new vocalist and re-affirming the fact that we're not the shittiest musicians in the world. We didn't get any writing done, we didn't get any covers done, we jammed a bit, if you can call repeating the stale same riffs over and over again jamming. I didn't even fucking enjoy myself that much. He's basically sucked the joy out of playing music. We can't do anything weird because it's not what metalheads "need." We can't fuck with structure, play in weird time signatures, play slow solos or riffs, mesh genre's, nothing. It's a fucking drag.

I want to tell the cunt to fuck off, but that wouldn't bode well for me and my good guitarist. When the time comes, he can get us gigs easily. Plus tickets and other cheap shit. The best option here is to stay in the band and work mostly on a side project with my other guitarist, giving the asshole complete creative control until he realises he can't write good music on his own. Until then I can mooch off his connections to further my other band, and after he realises he sucks maybe he'll take a step back and we can pick up where we left off..

But then, what if he doesn't?

The silliest part, Mag, is that you're holding baseless standards for a child because of your earlier impressions of them on a discussion board and more specifically a thread that quite literally was built to harbor people's random thoughts.

So if we're talking immature, the inability to cope with a misguided impression of someone you met on the internet in a place with the title "Random Board" is pretty damn immature.

I had a /huge/ problem with high school students drawing dicks over everything. It was just the most immature thing that could ever be done.
