Who do you think is the smartest anime character and why?

Personally I feel that people like L, Light, and Lelouch (or the 3 Ls) aren't qualified since they all died. If you're the smartest you should find a way to survive your series and be declared the undisputed winner.

Personally I think blank (Sora and Shiro) from No Game No Life are the smartest characters. These two never lose at games of any kind, Shiro can beat programs that beat Chess Grandmasters twenty times in a row while playing black every time (In chess if both parties are of equal talent the best outcome is white always wins or its a draw.) I believe they stated Shiro can compute at least to 10 to the power of 21 in an instant. Also Shiro deciphered a language without any hints, keys, or clues in 15 minutes. Gotta say they have my vote for smartest anime character.

I'm a huge Lelouch and Light fan, but those two simply can't compete on that level as far as I'm aware and Sora can read a person like an open book by their expressions. His tactition skills seem to put the other two to shame. I mean Sora figured out 20 different ways to defeat a God Killer (even though that was the title of the species not even 200 put together could defeat a God so I have no idea why they were given such a title) in an instant, if that's not some brilliant taction work I don't know what is, meanwhile Lelouch fails at the end of season 1 because his plan had a huge hole he didn't account for and Light failed to account for the possibility of Near getting the Death Note. Sora didn't even know everything about the God Killer but he still came up with 20 plans and the first one actually worked.

This is why Shiro and Sora have my vote as the smartest anime characters in the department of social skills and mathematics
